At first, you notice that fountain pen ink note 😅, like a whisky that later blends with a well-liqueur patchouli, while the vanilla stays slightly in the background. It resembles Givenchy Reserve Privée but without the iris, which makes it feel drier.
Finally, Montblanc with niche perfumes! I just tried it in a perfumerie alongside Black Meistersruck, and they are the best in the collection. It is elegant and perfect with a suit. I will be buying it, knowing it performs exceptionally well. It is a classic with that ink note that blends harmoniously with the patchouli; they almost complement each other. Excellent perfume!
As the name suggests, this perfume leans heavily on patchouli from the very first moment and maintains it throughout. Sometimes I love it, other times it doesn’t quite convince me, but it is interesting and different. It smells mature, ideal for special occasions and cold weather. The longevity and trail are good. The Black version is drier and darker, and I prefer it much more.

The top notes are exquisite, and the atomiser is pure quality. I truly recommend it.
Amidst a brand with much tradition, there are original and innovative jewels. This time, I risked a bit more and tried five from their exclusive line, including one inspired locally. Patchouli Ink has that classic ink accord from master Pellegrin mixed with quality patchouli that balances the aromatic without being too sweet. The opening is uniform with a woody base. It faithfully represents what the packaging says. Let me tell you firsthand that at Montblanc there are always people with short noses who buzz when smelling new fragrances because they only react by instinct without understanding the real value. In this case, I recommend earplugs and ignoring them. The fragrance projects for hours, fades, and returns to remind you it’s there, even the next day near the hook where you hung it. It’s a creamy, elegant, and masculine delight with autumnal warmth ending in subtle vanilla and dry grass. In summary, an interesting fragrance from this Montblanc line with author compositions.
In the long and somewhat unoriginal history of the hybrid brand, there appear jewels with their own identity, standing out for innovation within their range of perfumes based on generic themes, adding a touch of salt, powdered garlic, or ambroxan… This time, I took a slight risk and offer you 5 jewels from their exclusive line. Patchouli Ink features a classic ink accord by master Pellegrin which, when blended with quality patchouli, balances the aroma and avoids being too sweet. They blend and express a uniform opening with a woody base. It represents what its ink writes on the packaging. I must warn you that in this Montblanc line, there are always short-nosed snobs who buzz when smelling propositional fragrances; I recommend earplugs and ignoring them, as it is difficult to silence one who reacts purely on instinct without investigating the perspective. The fragrance projects for hours, fades, and then returns, launching bursts that remind you it is there, even the next day when passing by the hook where you hung it. This creamy, elegant, masculine, and warm delight for autumn ends in a subtle vanilla that accompanies the creamy part of the patchouli, closing with a layer of dry grass, as if the patchouli had blended with the wood. In conclusion, an interesting perfume from this Mont Blanc line that enters the realm of author compositions.
It smells very similar to Le Labo’s The Noir 29 and Guerlain’s Patchouli Ardent, but it is not as green and aromatic as Le Labo, nor does it have as many light spicy nuances as Guerlain. What does it smell like? Slightly incense-like, the patchouli is well-executed, slightly sweet as if it had a touch of amber, and slightly earthy. Very elegant, and upon drying, wood predominates, somewhat like well-marked cedar. Excellent scent, NOT CASUAL, between semi-formal and formal; it does not smell old, but rather a modern, elegant, and very DIFFERENT man. Sometimes less, sometimes more. Excellent atomiser, beautiful and heavy bottle. Longevity is a maximum of 4 hours, especially in heat, as it stays on the skin, so the price is somewhat high for what it lasts. It projects moderately for the first hour, but seriously, it smells delicious.
Smells very similar to Le Labo’s The Noir 29 and Guerlain’s Patchouli Ardent, but less green and with fewer light spices. It smells of incense, well-executed patchouli, a sweet touch like amber, and earth. Very elegant; as it dries down, the dark woods like cedar don’t dominate. Excellent scent, not casual, between semi-formal and formal. Smells like a modern, different man. Sometimes less is more. The atomiser is top-notch and the bottle is pretty and heavy, but it lasts only four hours, especially in heat, lingering just on skin. The price is high for the duration, but it projects well for the first hour and smells divine.
It could be a dupe of Bentley For Men Intense, but crafted by Montblanc. Watch out! This is not a criticism; it is a rich perfume. If you hesitate to buy the Bentley due to that liquorish note, Patchouli Ink is a great alternative. It is very elegant, and together with Black Meisterstrück, they are the best of this new Montblanc line. Best regards!
It could be a dupe of Bentley For Men Intense, but made by Montblanc. No criticism here; it’s a rich fragrance. For those hesitating to spend on Bentley due to its marked patchouli note, this is a great alternative. It’s very elegant, and along with the Black Meisterstück, they are the best in this Montblanc line. Greetings to all.
It is a very special, intoxicating, and sophisticated perfume. The quality is evident, and I have received compliments at the office. I wore it for a night out, and the next day it still smelled exquisite, lasting over 12 hours on the skin. Spectacular performance! If you do not like patchouli, it is not for you, but if you do, it is a blind buy that you will love.
A magical and sophisticated fragrance. The quality shows, and I’ve already received compliments at the office. I wore it out at night and it still smelled divine the next day, lasting over 12 hours on skin. Brutal performance. If you don’t like patchouli, this isn’t for you, but if you enjoy it, it’s a safe purchase you’ll love.
It’s a beast, pure luxury. Smells incredible and the quality is evident from miles away. Just be aware, it’s very potent. If you’re a young, sensitive or weak man, better forget it. But if you’re over 35 with security and character, buy it without a second thought.
A powerful and extremely long-lasting fragrance, over 12 hours. In heat, it explodes with great intensity. The patchouli is more earthy/woody than chocolatey. You can distinguish the ink, although at first it’s hard to identify if you don’t know it. The vanilla never overtakes the patchouli, which is the star. It’s for formal evenings, not versatile, and smells elegant. For those who care about this detail: I couldn’t care less, I’M UNIQUE!
What a delightful surprise! The citrus opening is exquisite and the ink is noticeable from the start. In the heart, the patchouli is very sober. It’s incredible and worth having the whole set. I only regret that Glacier Vetiver fell short. The entire collection is worth it; it’s a fragrance that makes an impression, and with the right outfit, you’ll stand out 100%.
It is a hit of ink and a woody patchouli on the face; if it is elegant, it is very mature. At times, I feel a bit of ecclesiastical incense. Due to age, I would not wear it, but at around 45+, I probably would.
It’s a bold ink and woody patchouli scent, elegant yet very mature; sometimes it smells like church incense. I wouldn’t wear it myself due to my age, but it would suit someone over 45 perfectly.
An underrated gem. I bought it in November alongside Extreme Leather. At first, I thought it was mature and elegant. On skin, the strong ink note is noticeable, like a ballpoint pen, but then a very pleasant vanilla emerges that embraces the wood and adds warmth. Performance was moderate at first, but after letting it rest for a month, the ink has softened in intensity, making it more wearable, and longevity has improved significantly; now it lasts for weeks on clothes. If you’re looking for something different, I recommend trying it before buying blind, as the ink can be tricky. Fabrice Pellegrin did exceptional work that honours the name.
It smells 90% like Bentley for Men Intense. What a disappointment.
