Perfumes de Nathalie Benareau

With a childhood spent among the heady aromas of couscous and the taste of Spanish tapas, Nathalie honed her nose across three cultures—Algeria, Spain and France—before moving to the USA. “Better regret than remorse” is the motto that guides the frantic pace of her life in New York, as she runs between flamenco classes, running, and time with her family. A chemistry graduate from the University of Toulouse, the first time Nathalie entered the world of perfumery, she knew it was the profession for her. In New York, she had the opportunity to apply her talent for formulas, working across the full range of creative products, from candles, shower gels and shampoos to lotions and perfumes. With music headphones stuck to her ears, she puts her abundant energy to work for commercial brands such as Bath & Body Works (BBW), Victoria’s Secret and Avon. But the off-piste snowboarding enthusiast also enjoys exploring the untamed territories of niche perfumery. Her favourite ingredients dance and twirl to the voice of rapper Rosalia, with compositions steeped in woody notes, gourmand notes, and her famous “coconut water” accord. A meeting with an extravagant perfumer. ¡Olé!
