  • I believe this fragrance is in everyone’s olfactory memory. It’s attributed with thousands of exotic and cosmetic properties. It’s been made since 1800, so it had time to advertise everything. My introduction was late, but I liked it a lot. It’s very special, much sweeter than a typical cologne, emphasising the orange and giving very little to the lemon. What makes it unique is the spicy side (that cinnamon and a subtle touch of cloves) very well crafted. Many say it smells like Coca-Cola caramel and they’re right. Once on the skin, I detect a timid rose in the depth. The balance is excellent. Something different, interesting, and rich. No wonder it’s been on the market for over 200 years. The longevity is moderate, but it is a cologne.

Absolutely delicious. I met it at a yoga festival during a sensory meditation talk where we were sprayed with this. I loved it: sweet and fresh ambrosia, full of joy. Fruity floral with sweet spices. Orange, cinnamon, cloves, sweet lavender, and flowers. It comes in a 270ml plastic splash; I suppose it used to be glass and would look better, but I don’t mind. I transfer it to my small atomiser to use if I’m feeling lazy or haven’t applied perfume. It’s relaxing and tonifying at the same time. It only lasts an hour, perhaps half, but as it’s not sharp and smells great on contact, I can always re-spray. Just for a little while.

  • I’m surprised it’s here; I didn’t know it was so old. Is it to wake up fainted damisels or for blooming rituals? They use it in the bath for good luck on New Year’s with petals, which is why I associate it with parties. Simple and delicate aroma, but the bottle is horrible plastic.

  • Curious they don’t list the notes; is it a secret formula? Smells like a magical cocktail, akin to Coca-Cola, but not a flat sweet. I detect orange, cinnamon, lavender, cloves, bay, and perhaps lemon verbena; it has a medicinal touch, reminiscent of Eau de Cologne. It doesn’t smell like an old cologne; it smells like today. Unlike citrus scents that are meant to wake you up, this invites relaxation. It’s not sharp, it’s comforting and enveloping. Ideal for a siesta, post-shower, or lazy Sundays at home. The children love it more than Nenuco. I can’t wait for summer to wear it nice and cool. A great discovery, the definitive one.
