I’ll start by setting aside emotion to be objective. I was pleasantly surprised by Incense Wood from this house: potent aroma, good longevity, and a great trail. In contrast, this is a genuine waste of time. The scent is synthetic, poor, low-quality, and vulgar. Imagine a dishwashing lemon, but with less trail and longevity. To be fair, I wouldn’t recommend it. Don’t waste your money or time trying to make it work for you. It matches the Boccanera by Orto Parisi in terms of disappointing trail and longevity. Conclusion: I will never buy from this brand again. Scent 5.5/10, Trail 3.5/10, Projection 3/10, Longevity 3/10.

It’s strange there isn’t a review for this citrus jewel from Ajmal’s luxury line. A delight of balanced citrus with woods, spices, flowers, and high-quality fruits. It’s like a version of Bergamask but much more pleasant and wearable; their niche version with natural ingredients. It’s not linear, more delicate than the pungent Bergamask, with incredible projection and longevity lasting over 10 hours. It generally pleases and you’ll turn heads. Worth it if you love citrus; congratulations to Ajmal. PS: Among the best batches of 2019, it seems the 2020 ones weren’t as good.
Hatkora Wood, February 2020 batch: I must say it is an exquisite perfume in the true sense. I’ve received many compliments despite the rumours of a reformulation; I believe factors like counterfeits or decomposition are at play, as it hits hard and lasts up to 15 hours on my skin, which is clearly noticeable. Personally, I love it; it has strength and the composition feels very rich. On my skin, the oud and musk notes stand out significantly.

Out of my entire collection, this is the one that gets the most compliments; it clearly has a lot of appeal. It features a robust base of amber and wood, topped with citrus and floral notes that create a soapy sensation. It smells clean, potent, striking, and its performance is brutal. I’d place it in the same family as Tygar, Turathi Blue, and Bergamask. If you’re looking for powerful citrus, this is the one.

This fragrance arrived today and, to my surprise, it didn’t impress me at all. It smells like dry earth and ink, nothing like what I expected. I’m not sure if my batch has expired or gone bad due to poor storage, but it feels like an old, stale perfume; this really disappoints me.
