  • Á ce Soir is a beautiful and intriguing fragrance. Highly distinctive, it stands apart from anything familiar, radiating quality and a balance characteristic of fine creations. Often overlooked by many, I was able to try this and the rest of the Pont des Arts line thanks to my friend Darkbeat. I consider this the standout scent from the house so far, owing to its novelty, uniqueness, and notably impressive longevity compared to other offerings. Across the range, I’ve found they deliver exactly what they promise: they are easily categorisable into their olfactive families. Where others might claim to be a textbook chypre, this is an opulent, gorgeous oriental floral. Several notes lend it its peculiar charm: cinnamon, rum, pink pepper, citrus, the pollen note, and beautifully blended florals that contribute a creamy tone from ylang-ylang and orchid, bolstered by a resinous blend that gives it good body. The cinnamon shines in the opening, wrapped in leather and mandarin, offering a slightly bitter yet fresh edge. In the heart, the pollen note is strikingly noticeable—natural and soft, enveloping the composition with a subtle sweetness, making it markedly unisex. Dots of balsam add a creamy dimension. A scent that is difficult to pin down, highly unique and quite intoxicating. Longevity hovers around 6–7 hours with modest projection, perceptible mainly with movement. It matures well, ideal for enclosed spaces, elegant and formal. Above all, it is different. A truly worthy creation that evokes classic high perfumery; versatile enough for year-round use by adjusting the number of sprays, though I see it as particularly suited to autumn and spring.
