  • In my opinion, it is an ode to the rose: a tremendously opulent and high-quality note, very dense. It has a 20% concentration (Pure Perfume) and mixes from the start with resins and wood, giving it even more body, but for my nose, the rose dominates absolutely from start to finish. It reminds me of ‘Rose Anonyme’ by Atelier Cologne, but this one from Tauer has more ‘steroids’, perhaps more quality or at least more body. It doesn’t have much evolution, but its performance is exceptional: notable trail and excellent longevity with few sprays. From the same line, I liked Vanille Flash more, although I am more inclined towards tobacco than vanilla and felt this one had a bit more variety (though it doesn’t exactly launch rockets). Regarding gender, it is difficult to evaluate; I believe it is cultural and depends on education and advertising. In Arab cultures, pure rose is considered masculine, whereas in the West it is associated with the feminine. I have no problem wearing it and see it as unisex, though I know many will say it is feminine. Very good fragrance in terms of quality, but if you don’t like dense and deep roses, perhaps a bit one-note, then abstain.

For those who hate floral scents and specifically rose: run, it is the atomic bomb of roses, the most intense and sweet I have ever known. It has a gelatinous sensation that makes it unique, a rose so natural it feels like smelling a real bouquet. It suits women better; I only wear it on my wrist to relax. Another superior creation from Mr Tauer, with whom I have had the pleasure of speaking and who is quite amiable. Jorge Elizalde, Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico.

Speaking of Rose Flash is difficult because I am head over heels and my objectivity is clouded. Since I apply it, my nose is having an orgasm: that delicate, wonderfully caramelised rose makes me want to bite my lip and press my nose against my skin, though it’s not necessary because the trail is wonderful. It isn’t overly complex, but the combination of notes makes it superb, almost celestial; I could swear it has touches of amber even though it’s not listed on the pyramid. I wore it today with great joy and within an hour I already had six compliments. It isn’t cheap, but its quality justifies the price. Treat yourselves to the opportunity to experience it. It is unisex, but for me it carries more of a feminine charge. Trail, longevity, and fragrance: 10.

  • A delicious and exquisite fragrance that screams elegance and sophistication. I first encountered it with a mini sample and wow, it is incredibly potent: a single drop is noticeable from a distance, the trail is amazing, and the longevity is beyond reproach. It opens with a pure, robust, opulent, and velvety red rose, with an earthy and green touch reminiscent of resins. After ten minutes, it softens, leaving a rose with amber (an undeclared note, but it’s definitely there). In the dry down, it smells of cooked and sweetened red fruits, a warm and unique sweet bouquet. A fantastic fragrance well worth enjoying.

  • I tried this as a decant. While it leans more feminine and I wouldn’t recommend it for men, it is simply a wonder for a woman. As with most of Andy Tauer’s creations, he didn’t miss a beat here. Rose Flash is one of the finest florals I’ve ever tested: its rose hits you straight away, and with just three sprays, the projection fills the room. A fragrance that truly enchants.
