Haute Couture Mila Schönes (vintage) is a classic feminine chypre that opens a dimension distinct from the modern, featuring citrus, spices, peach, strawberry and rosewood. It has a breath between notes, tasteful floral touches and mossy, animalic elements that quickly reach high aromatic peaks on your skin and nose if you let its exquisite development unfold to appreciate a dry-down that is musky, mossy with a background of bitter herbs. It is more captivating than I imagined: a unique composition in its genre and a genuine pleasure to wear, ideal for rainy days and it invites reflection. A perfume where the soul of a glamorous past is still traceable, kept with care but ready to reveal its beauty only to those seeking a creation that tells a great story.
It’s a super dark and characterful fragrance. The pyramid is complex yet everything flows seamlessly without any single note overpowering the others. Basically, it’s floral leather; it reminds me it could be the older sister of Dior’s Fahrenheit, as the leather and violet are very prominent, or even Chanel’s Antaeus, with that dark, rounded rose softened by castoreum. It evokes an image of old, dark ink leaving a rough, mineral-vegetal finish in the throat. Everything is soaked in a swampy greenness, even that curious strawberry that seems plucked from a Lovecraftian tale involving some cosmic and primordial creature. Everything emerges with a fascinating coldness. I see it as a night scent or for cloudy days. A genuine rarity.
