Descripción

Ambre Pamplemousse Rose by L'Atelier des Bois de Grasse is an oriental floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2016, this olfactive composition unfolds with rum, pink grapefruit and lemon in its top notes. The heart reveals a harmony of cedar, elemi, cyperus, vetiver, rose and violet, while the base settles on a bed of sandalwood, ambergris and periwinkle.

Of all the colognes, this has true perfume performance; it lasts the longest on the skin and evolves the most, being one of the least like a standard cologne. The opening is extremely alcoholic and spicy, with very strong and enveloping rum, but once it settles, woods, amber and flowers dominate. On my skin, the rose lingers strongly and lasts over twelve hours. This and Rose Bois de Gaiac are my favourites; they suit both women and men, a good blind buy. It’s an all-day or evening winter scent for people aged twenty-five and over. It doesn’t smell cheap, it doesn’t smell like a cologne, and it is very cheap.

  • Fresh and woody, with a citrus and rum top note that becomes addictive. Unisex, with moderate longevity and projection.

One of the five limited editions from Luxe by L’Atelier des Bois de Grasse, part of the Arthes Group which specialises in niche fragrances. Of the three I own, they all possess exceptional quality, originality and performance; this one has the best trail and longevity, lasting ten hours on my skin which is miraculous. I’ve fallen in love, bought an unconfessable amount and enjoy them more than a child with a lollipop. I don’t skimp on perfuming myself and they keep me hooked. It’s fresh with a beautiful evolution: a fresh citrus top note with a hint of rum and an intense green nuance, followed by flowers which I can’t quite distinguish; I don’t detect violet or rose. The rum recedes while cedar and exquisite elemi rise, then vetiver intensifies and in the dry down, sandalwood appears, adding a warm touch. The base is floral, woody and ambered with a soft but present rum. It resembles nothing I know, is highly original, versatile, unisex and elegant, oozing class everywhere. It’s a summer scent for strolling in white linen and a panama hat, enjoying a martini al fresco by the harbour; it makes you feel elegant and glamorous. Buy blindly with confidence; they are all discontinued, but if you come across one, don’t hesitate, any of them is worth it.
