  This perfume made me want to write a rap: ‘The world eats cumin, cumin is cumin…’. The dominant note is cumin, my second time with this spice after Khaliji by Al-Rehab, but that one had lemon and was fresh; Aziyade is sweeter, warmer, and spicier, with lots of cinnamon, ginger, and date sweetness. In the base, the tobacco is very noticeable. I imagine the top notes as a set of spices I’d fancy cooking something rich with. The curious thing is that the decant came in a little bag and the cumin scent pierced through even two bags; when applied, the cumin stays at the bottom, present but leaving room for other notes, perhaps a more experienced nose would detect them better. Aziyade is super interesting and I’m glad I tried it, I hadn’t smelled anything like this, but honestly it’s not for me. I used just one spray, it lasted quite a while, and has a decent trail =)

The note that hits me hardest is cumin, my second time with this note after Khaliji by Al-Rehab, but that one had lemon and was fresh. Aziyade is sweeter, warmer, and very spicy, with lots of cinnamon, ginger, and the sweetness of dates; in the base, I noticed a lot of tobacco. I imagine the top notes as a set of spices I’d fancy cooking something rich with.   Well, it’s quite an interesting thing, particularly the naturalness with which it recreates the ‘body odour’, though I won’t be more explicit (haha). It’s a space scent in the truest sense, an original and peculiar aroma, fairly intense; I think you need to be very eccentric to wear something like this, I don’t see it for a 20-year-old on a first date or making a conquest attempt. Cumin envelops the whole perfume, and within it, I clearly perceive a good blend of ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom, the latter famous for recalling ‘body odours’ such as sweat, complementing the idea very well. Towards the final phase, a slightly smoky note joins in, which must be tobacco. It reminded me a little of Cartier’s Declaration family because of its spiciness and use of body scents, but I consider Declaration’s scent somewhat ‘earthy’—I don’t think it offends, whereas in Aziyade it is so natural and focused on this concept that it might offend some noses, especially those who dislike perfumes or the average user (non-enthusiast). It has quality, doesn’t smell of plastic, and isn’t nauseating, unlike A*man with its burnt plastic note; here there is no unpleasant artificial aroma. What is true is that it recalls body odours which can result in offence; I think it tries to be a very sexual and animalistic scent. Worth a try.

It’s an aroma that transports you to dream of exoticism, leisure, and fun. It’s fairly linear and lasts for hours on the skin. More wearable than Arabie, it suits a nocturnal character for women and a diurnal one for men, in a formal, classic style. Perfect for lovers of sweet, spicy orientals. A word of advice: don’t buy blindly. The fragrance doesn’t suit everyone, especially not a young, laid-back person.
