I’m sure that, technically, it’s not a standard commercial fragrance. It’s powerful and high-quality, one of the best niche scents I’ve tried. Mar de Ibiza blends the Mediterranean breeze with fresh woods, Ibiza pine, and damp herbs. It’s classic and sober, yet innovative and sparkling. It opens with lemon, soft spices, and plenty of green freshness. As it settles, the heart becomes woody and spicy, with some cedar in the base and a whisper of plants at the end. It’s my all-time favourite and the best gift from Ibiza.
I’m a huge fan of this scent. The blend of fresh wood, deep sea, and that aquatic soul makes it perfect for everyday wear. The marine notes make it ideal for the heat. At the base, there’s white musk, amber, and moss. I love it! It was one of the best gifts from Ibiza and, for me, the best perfume I’ve brought back from there.
It’s what I’ve been wearing lately and it’s incredibly honest: delicate, with a clean airiness, and smells amazing. It’s warm and sexy all at once. Aquatic, light, with a spicy and herbal touch. It keeps me hooked; I apply a bit in the morning and sometimes reapply during the day. It’s my summer perfume of choice; I simply adore it.
I know some of the reviews below are commercially biased, but the bottom line is: your sneeze lasts longer than this. Obviously, the only thing it has in common with Acqua di Parma is that it’s water. It’s by far the worst, even the first one I tried. It simply has nothing, literally.
Whether the longevity is good or bad, I own four fragrances from this range that I wear in summer. I see Mar de Ibiza Essence of Earth as more feminine and suitable for evening, whereas Mar de Ibiza Essence of the Sea is more daytime-appropriate, though lighter and less long-lasting, which I appreciate as I dislike heavy scents during the day.
