Another hit from Lattafa that has me head over heels: an Arab and exotic vibe absent in Western perfumes, a plus that gives it soul and makes you noticed. It opens with saffroned geranium, pink nuances, and a sweet raspberry touch, simply gorgeous. Warm, slightly rough and astringent, with a fruity base; underneath lies a vaporous and ethereal brushstroke of oud, of great beauty. Then, the oud and geranium gain body, but the oud isn’t dirty; it’s gentle, almost caramelised by the amber with a camphoraceous and rough edge from the geranium. Accompanied by musky, smoky, and slightly fruity notes, it is an olfactory pleasure. The dry down is ambered oud, slightly musky and smoky, an Arab masterpiece. Although vanilla isn’t on the list, I sense it faintly throughout the development, more marked at the end. The packaging is decent: standard box, thick glass bottle with a slightly loose plastic cap, but acceptable. Quality-to-price won by a landslide. Performance is extraordinary, over 12 hours on skin. Sillage is heavy in the first hours, then moderate and gradually drops to skin-scent only. Ideal for cold and temperate climates, preferably at night. In summer, avoid it; it could be a weapon of mass destruction with the heat. If you like sweet and woody orientals, give it a try: it’s warm, mysterious, and made for the very same Scheherazade. Highly recommended 100%.
Another absolute stunner from Lattafa that leaves me speechless. It has that Arab and exotic vibe you simply won’t find in Western perfumes, and in my opinion, that’s a bonus because it smells soulful, distinctive, and makes you noticed. It opens with a saffroned geranium with pinkish nuances and a sweet raspberry note, simply gorgeous. It’s a warm scent, slightly rough and astringent, with a fruity touch, while underneath you can detect a very vaporous and ethereal brushstroke of oud, of incredible beauty. Once the top notes fade, the oud and geranium gain body, yet it’s not a dirty or wild oud; it’s gentle, almost caramelised by the amber, with a camphoraceous and rough edge from the geranium. Accompanied by a multitude of musky, smoky, and slightly fruity notes, it becomes an olfactory delight. The dry down is an ambered oud with a musky and smoky touch, a true Arab masterpiece. Although vanilla isn’t listed in the notes, I detect it faintly throughout the development, becoming more pronounced at the end. The packaging is decent: standard quality box, thick glass bottle with a slightly loose plastic cap, but not bad. If we look at the quality-to-price ratio, we win by a landslide. The performance is extraordinary, with an incredible skin longevity that surpasses 12 hours. The sillage is heavy for at least the first two or three hours, then drops to moderate and gradually fades until it’s skin-scent only. It’s a perfume for cold and temperate climates, preferably for evening wear. In summer, stay away; it could be a weapon of mass destruction, and I can’t even imagine how it would radiate in the heat… If you like sweet and woody orientals, you must try it; it’s a warm, mysterious woody scent made for the Sultan herself. Highly recommended 100%.
I have already received the bottle and bought another. How good this is. I saw Darkbeat’s review and thought I had to have one, and it was a total success. That raspberry which stands out without masking the rest is wonderful, provided you apply it generously, which is normal for me. These perfumes beat famous brands, which make disasters with reformulations, and given the price, one must think about it. To the point: it is ambered raspberry, sweet, with rose; after two hours it becomes more woody with oud, but always warm and sweet. The trail is spectacular. Cold climate, good projection, and long-lasting. It is neither generic nor synthetic, the price is reasonable, and the bottle is beautiful. A great purchase, I recommend it without doubt. Best wishes from Argentina.
At first, I didn’t get it; I tried it in March and it’s a raspberry delight at the start (which fades quickly), floating above what dominates: a musk. Strong, deep, animalic, and almost faecal, which becomes more noticeable with the heat. That’s why you need to save it for winter, which is its moment. There’s nothing like it on the market, but if we look for similarities, perhaps it has the character of a Kouros. As usually happens, it’s an odious comparison, like so many others.
At first I didn’t understand it; I tried it in March and, well, what can I say? A delightful raspberry opening (which unfortunately fades quickly), floating above the musk, which is the star note: strong, deep, animalic, and almost faecal, intensifying with the heat. That is why I say, save it for winter, that is its season. I cannot say more than what has already been written, only that it is true there is no equal in the market, but if you seek a similarity, it might remind you of a Kouros. And as often happens, it is a dreadful comparison, like so many others.
I’m absolutely obsessed. It opens with saffron and raspberry, blends with geranium and a touch of rose in the middle, and closes with oud, lots of amber, and a hint of incense. It’s a woody oriental, slightly smoky and fruity. It smells wonderful, lasts forever, and leaves a heavy trail. Ideal for autumn, winter, and going out at night. A gift from Josesan.
I absolutely love it: it opens with saffron and raspberry, blending into geranium and a hint of rose in the middle, resting on a base of airy, ambered oud with touches of incense. It is oriental, woody, light, and smoky. It lasts a long time, courtesy of Josesan, perfect for autumn and winter and for going out at night. The longevity is eternal and the trail is heavy.
Smells like an old-fashioned herb shop, yet with such a sweet finish it lingers on the palate; wear it only in winter or it will overwhelm you within an hour.
