My wife owns this. The longevity and projection are insane. It has a trail that projects enormously and lasts approximately 10 hours. On clothes, it is eternal. Regarding the scent, it is quite sweet, though it does not quite end up being cloying (unless you detest sweet aromas). The most notable aspect is that very prominent lactonic note accompanied by caramel and a bit of honey. The rest of the accords are present but on a more secondary plane. If you like sweet aromas, you definitely should buy this.
Good longevity, but unfortunately, I did not love it. Although I enjoy the scent, it left me unimpressed as it reminds me greatly of Vanilla Bean Noel by Bath & Body Works. It feels like freshly baked butter cookies. I expected it to be more lactonic, but it is merely a strong, hot caramel.
It’s super tasty; for the price, I think it’s worth it. It cost me 44 dollars. At first, I smelled caramel, vanilla, and honey. A short while later, I detected milk, sugar, and then the white florals; it’s a super cosy combination. It’s not an aggressive perfume; it’s like a dessert, but without being overly sugary, it’s at the ideal point and lasts well; for me, it lasts about 5 hours or more. The trail feels relatively moderate, but when people are close to you, they love it.
It smells like car air freshener with velvet seats. The vanilla note smells like flan, yes, exactly. A velvet armchair smeared with flan.
I believe I was sold a knock-off version because, at the very least, I detect a burnt plastic scent and it is by no means pleasant. Super synthetic aroma with very poor longevity.
This perfume opens with a creamy hit of caramel and milk, but not that cloying kind that tires… rather, it evokes the sensation of having spent the morning cooking dulce de leche, stirring slowly until it thickens and takes on a soft toasted hue. I believe the praline enters here, contributing that vibe of cooked sugar, warm and golden, without falling into the childish. I perceive the honey lightly, like a thread that adds shine without being the protagonist. Although it theoretically carries white flowers, on my skin they do not appear as such; rather, they are a nuance that prevents it from being too sweet, granting a quiet elegance, like a lordly weight that distances it from the youthful. The vanilla and musk base is timid, yet rounds off the creamy body without making it synthetic. On my skin, it feels surprisingly natural, soft and warm. Nothing novel, but very pleasant and easy to wear. For the price I secured it (5 oz for $16.99 at Marshalls), honestly, it feels like a small creamy and sweet jewel, of those that do not aim to shout, but to embrace.
It’s a perfume that captivated me at first; I used it for a while, but I realised that because it’s so milky and sweet, in enclosed spaces it starts giving me headaches; what a pity.
One of my favourites, totally delicious. Avoid using it in summer because it’s extremely cloying and gives me a headache. In winter, it’s excellent, 10/10.
My favourite of the Arabes. At first, I did not like it; I detected a car air freshener scent, but then I grew to enjoy it. Be careful when wearing it in summer, as it tends to be overwhelming for those who smell it from a distance.
Delicious Dupe: Initially, sugared and caramelised vanilla that wraps you in warmth. It is sweet, yet possesses that fine pastry air that invites you closer. Then coumarin emerges and shifts the course: it becomes powdery and talcum-like, with a serious, elegant nuance. Here Éclaire distinguishes itself from youthful vanillas; it does not seek to be gormless, but rather sophisticated. On my nose, I detect no lactonic notes, so it remains sober. Hours later, the vanilla turns creamy and comforting on the skin. It conveys elegance and maturity, ideal for those who prefer a polished profile. My rating: 7/10. The coumarin deducts points as I am not a fan, but overall it offers a distinct proposition within the vanilla universe, designed for a sweet yet non-cloying elegance.
I tried it in a perfumery, on one arm and on the other a perfume I can’t even remember because Eclair invaded everything. Vanilla, vanilla, vanilla; intense, sticky, and probably the sweetest perfume I’ve ever smelled. The next day, my arm still smelled of vanilla; it had soaked into my watch too. It’s a lovely scent, not overwhelming thanks to the white floral notes, but it can be too much as it’s like bathing in vanilla essence. For me, it was, as I tried it in full summer, but I still think I’d add it to my collection for those days when I need that level of sweetness.
I bought it blind and was satisfied. Its popularity is understandable. It is very sweet; I primarily detect caramel. When it dries down, it is different; try it on the skin: I smell a cookie or coconut tart. If you do not like perfumes with a dessert scent, I would not recommend it. If you enjoy Bianco di Latte or well-vanillised perfumes, you will love this.
It is the vanilla king of Mercadona.
Pure bliss. Caramel with cream, a touch of honey and vanilla… absolutely delicious! Truly outstanding. In the dry down, it becomes an irresistible praline. To all gourmand lovers: highly recommended, without a doubt.
A plastic wrapper stained with burnt dulce de leche. The smell of burnt plastic is repulsive. It is sweet, yes, it resembles Bianco Latte, yes, but in a synthetic and unpleasant way.
I loved it. I hesitated a bit to buy it due to bad reviews saying it smelled like ‘burnt rubber’ or ‘plastic’; they should check their noses and question whether they bought a fake because it doesn’t smell like that at all. Despite being quite sweet for summer, I’ve received plenty of compliments. It only overpowers if you spray 20,000 times on the back of your neck and another 10,000 in your armpits; two sprays are enough.
To be honest, if this is indeed the dupe for Bianco Latte (though I’ve never tried the original), I’d buy it again once I run out. It’s a gourmand that makes you want to lick your fingers; super creamy with a perfect balance in the musk. I’m absolutely fascinated by sweetness; perfumes that are too powdery give me the creeps, but this hits the sweet spot: creamy caramel without being cloying, with a vanilla just as soft. It literally smells like a little dessert. It lasts between 6 and 7 hours with good projection; in a small room, people can smell it from the doorway. The opening is very alcoholic, but once it settles, it becomes super creamy, literally like melted caramel in the bottle.
The copy literally cost me 3 euros, same scent and same bottle on Shein; now I’ve ordered a sample of the original, Yara Elixir and Marsmellow, and guess what? They all smell exactly the same. Arabic perfumes are a disappointment, haha.
I love it; it’s super long-lasting, vanilla, lactonic, like dulce de leche, like a dessert. But only for cold climates because it can be overpowering; there are no spicy notes, which is why it’s an Arab fragrance I like. On my clothes, the scent lingers until I wash them.
Top tip: let it macerate for at least a month before sniffing it. I used to think maceration was nonsense, but I was wrong. In my case, it was the difference between hating it and finding it addictive. At first, straight from the bottle, I got a super potent smell of burnt rubber. Over time, I started detecting only powdered sugar, which I didn’t like. Finally, just as I was about to give it away, there it was! All its declared notes appeared, along with a hint of cocoa—which is probably tonka bean even if it’s not listed, perfectly developed. It’s honey, milk, tonka bean, and vanilla; a wonder if you like gourmands, perfect for this season. On the other hand, it lacks elegance on its own, but if you layer it with Peace and Love by Lattafa or Eshal by Paris Corner, it becomes much more interesting. It’s a great mixer. Give it a chance and some time; mine has been with me for nearly six weeks now, and I absolutely love it. PS: I don’t know the Bianco Latte.
You take a cup of milk, add caramel, honey, sugar, dulce de leche, chocolate bonbons, ice cream, and every tooth-rotting treat you can think of. You put it in the microwave for 9 minutes until it’s hot, take it out, and take a deep sniff that penetrates your brain; this is what Eclaire smells like. Is it synthetic? The truth is, yes. It’s a true test of endurance to wear this perfume; using it qualifies you for a certified Gourmand sick note. I wouldn’t consider it a blind buy unless you already use Scandal or Cher18 and want to go four steps further.
I thought it would be very sweet 😔 but it wasn’t. It was my first Arab fragrance; I was coming from using Sweet Black Exclusive by Cy Zone looking for caramelised notes. It isn’t as sweet as the reviews suggest; it’s more powdery, and I can smell the floral notes quite clearly. As I said, it isn’t as sweet a gourmand as they sell it; the Coconut Brulee body mist by VS smells of caramel much more than this one.
Personally, it doesn’t suit me, and it won’t lie to you: it’s a slap in the face of sweetness. Very gourmand, bakery-like, almost sticky. Unlike other Lattafa fragrances, it has no weird notes; it’s plain, edible food, similar to the Give Me Gourmand collection but slightly more ‘adult’. I made a mistake by testing it in summer; it felt overwhelming. It lacks a twist to be sophisticated, but if you want to smell like vanilla wafer and caramel, this is for you… not for me.
Too cloying for me; if you really like gourmands, this is for you. It smells like cookies after a while, but it’s true that the opening is very alcoholic and turns people off. It does last quite a long time, in fact, so much so that I’m desperate to shower to get rid of it. I think I’m going to develop diabetes from this perfume. I wouldn’t recommend wearing it in hot weather because it’s very, very invasive.
My beloved Eclaire!!! Smells like a treat, a cake, a gourmand of the highest order. ‘Exquisite’ is hardly enough to describe how much I love this perfume, by God. I’m waiting for winter to wear it again because, for certain noses, it can be a bit heavy for summer. On me, it has good longevity and a wide sillage, but that might be because I apply too much; I’m fascinated by it.
It’s a good fragrance if you want to smell like dulce de leche, although I wouldn’t recommend it for hot weather. It can be stifling in summer, better suited for winter. As a daily wear, it’s a great option and pairs wonderfully with Cheirosa 71 by Sol de Janeiro. The longevity isn’t very good, so you would need to reapply it.
Unfortunately, this perfume hasn’t met my expectations. From the start, it smells too much like that vanilla air freshener from the supermarket; it takes away exclusivity and elegance. The composition is very linear and artificial, with no evolution or nuances. The vanilla feels cloying and synthetic, dominating everything and becoming monotonous. The longevity is acceptable, but it doesn’t compensate for the lack of personality. It’s noticeable in enclosed spaces or heat. In short, I don’t recommend it; it seems more like an air freshener than a fine fragrance and I wouldn’t gift it to anyone.
I bought a decant first because, according to reviews, it wasn’t something to buy blind, but when I smelled it in the bottle, I went crazy over how much I liked it. It has a super potent sweetness. Among my favourites for being sweet, it’s creamy, edible, literally smelling like a dessert. What I like most is how long it lasts and how powerful it is; I received many compliments saying I truly smelled like a dessert. Even while walking, people would say ‘your perfume smells so delicious’ 🥹💗
A very rich fragrance, a wall of information, and pure sugar. Milk with caramel is delicious; I liked it very much. It’s worth it, preferably after a good shower so other scents don’t interfere, and in the morning or afternoon when it’s cold, it’s definitely worth it. I liked it so much that I’m now tempted to try the other two releases from the same house.
I tried many Lattafa fragrances looking for something good… the truth is, it was a NO for all of them. The quality of the ingredients leaves much to be desired; they are all very artificial. This one is lactonic, sweet, and caramelised… but everything feels synthetic.
I’ve just picked up this Eclaire from Lattafa. Hearing a review sparked my curiosity, especially as I have a weakness for floral gourmands and found it original and good value. Upon application, the opening was super alcoholic, like a vanilla and rum mix similar to rompope, which I didn’t like at all because I hate alcohol scents. Additionally, the sharp note made me sneeze. But a few seconds later, it changed and arrived at the notes that make it famous: a vanilla dessert, creamy with a touch of caramel. I kept it. The longevity is superb on skin and clothes. If you’re sensitive to alcohol hits, better not to buy it, but for the rest, it’s worth it. My husband and family told me it smelled lovely, which convinced me. Note: it’s not for every day, it can be oppressive; better for winter.
It’s a super sweet fragrance, smells like custard 🍮. It can be a bit tiring if you wear it every day, but it’s very rich and I love it 🤎.
It’s rich, but not quite as much as I’d hoped… once it dries down, it’s just vanilla. Lasted 4 hours on my skin and 6 on my clothes. To be honest, I regret buying it; I prefer Nebras.
It’s a perfume of extremes: either you love it or it kills you. I adore it; it’s super long-lasting on skin and clothes and smells like a sweet delight. If you don’t like people stopping you in the street asking what you’re wearing, this isn’t for you, but if you do, it’s brilliant.
I’m a fan of sweet perfumes, but with Eclaire, it’s not possible. It smells heavy, overwhelming and even gives me nausea. It’s not pleasant at all.
It’s a very sweet and extremely gourmand fragrance. It is literally vanilla with caramel, extremely laconic.
Sweet, caramel-scented and intense. Very similar to Bianco Laté.
I didn’t like it at all. It smells like a synthetic, relaxed stomach with an opening of burnt plastic. I think everyone finds the sweet notes advertised strange, except for the honey, but together they sound like a mixture made by the bucketful. It gets nicer as it dries down, but it still feels like putting your head in a custard pudding 🤢.
I always thought I’d love it judging by the notes, but something held me back, so I ordered a 5ml decant. Thank goodness I didn’t buy the full bottle. A huge disappointment; I didn’t like it at all. I’m still trying to work out what bothers me so much; now I think it’s that very synthetic scent, even associating it with plastic, though I’m not sure. My advice: don’t buy it blindly or recklessly.
I’m a huge fan of gourmand scents. After loving Tiramisu Caramel and believing Banoffee gave it a thousand turns, I went for Eclaire and it has disappointed me immensely. Straight out of the bottle, it just smells of alcohol, and after a few hours, I detect burnt caramel. Does anyone have a solution? Should I let it macerate?
