Lía, it hasn’t won me over, though it doesn’t dislike it either. After reading so many expert reviews, I expected something more surprising or of unique quality, but it wasn’t. Perhaps it’s my expectations that are off. It’s quite linear, mature, with a touch of amber sweetness that prevents it from being too dry, as the lavender is pasty and the cured tobacco is everything. Everything results in being dry, mature, with a certain mossy and leathery point, even a slight faecal nuance. The performance, however, is good.
For me, it’s pure luxury. It smells of lavender with honeyed tobacco and a touch of amber; it’s not complex, but the tobacco note is real, raw and direct, with no custard or synthetic musks like in others. It has incredible depth and sharpness, hard to find these days. I love the blend: just the right sweet spot without being sugary. Imagine Caron Pour Homme refined, with vanilla replaced by that honeyed tobacco. It’s mature, linear and has a retro air. Longevity and trail are ten out of ten. One of the best I’ve tried in years for the quality of the feel. Only for those who like tobacco; millennials probably won’t get it.
For me, it’s a marvel: a perfume with enormous quality that combines lavender, honeyed tobacco and a touch of amber. It’s not complex in notes, but watch out: here the tobacco smells like tobacco, not Danone custard like in Pure Havane, nor does it carry white musk, ambroxan or that very light tobacco floating over synthetics like in Herod. The sharpness and depth of the notes are spectacular, hard to find these days. The best thing is that the blend fascinates me; it smells frankly good with the just right amount of sweetness without being a sweet perfume. It’s a raw note, nothing like that typical sweet tonka that many call tobacco. If you compare it, it’s like giving Caron Pour Homme finesse and quality, replacing vanilla with slightly honeyed tobacco. It’s mature, fairly linear and has a certain retro air. Longevity and trail are excellent, among the best I’ve tried in years, especially regarding the quality of the feel. Abstain if you don’t like tobacco or if you’re a millennial in general.
