Once it dries, it smells about 60% like Pure Havane, but the opening has something that doesn’t quite work for me and lasts only 10 minutes; then it settles and smells good. Samba Skin smells of chocolate instead of tobacco, and since I love Pure Havane but it’s expensive and I save it for special occasions, with this Samba Skin Man I can use it on other days. It’s so affordable that with what you buy for a Pure Havane, you get ten of these here. It cost me $10 (189 Mexican pesos). If you like Pure Havane or Spicebomb, this might appeal to you, not just for the price but for the scent, although don’t expect miracles.

This is the fifth Samba fragrance I own. The best thing about this brand is how affordable they are; a small bottle lasts months, even years. It’s a more than reasonable investment, coming in at between $10 and $20 per bottle, which is very comfortable. Sometimes we can’t budget for a Chanel or Dior, and Samba has shown me I can smell good without spending a fortune. As for Samba Skin, it’s the fifth from the brand. It smells of lots of amber and spices, probably cinnamon with a hint of tobacco, but what stands out most is the amber, which is my favourite scent. The scent doesn’t change on the skin, the trail is moderate, and the longevity is medium to high. It’s very sweet, rich, and comfortable; people notice it but it doesn’t bother them. When I apply it, it reminds me of chocolate. I use it almost daily, alternating it with regular Samba or Nova. On rainy days, in autumn or winter, it feels better, but I use it all year round regardless of the weather. A few months ago I bought three extra bottles in a K-Mart special for just $7 each. What more could I ask for at that price!
