I don’t like the top notes, but once the base notes kick in, it smells like Gloria. It’s quite long-lasting, surely between 8 and 12 hours, and on top of that, the price is very accessible. I definitely recommend it.
Hooray! An extraordinary fragrance for fifty-somethings like myself. People who grew up in the eighties, if we like colognes, feel a weakness for ferns, but it’s true they remind us of our parents, uncles, grandparents… So only the very brave put on fragrances from that era with confidence; many find them irritating even if they love them. Well, this is one of the fougères made for us: it’s classic, but the dry-down with that sweet lavender accompanied by vanilla, the typical dry-down of those times, makes it spectacular for fifty-somethings and above. For some it will be perfect, for others, the older generation, a bit modern, but if you like ferns, it’s a jewel with a dry-down very much of the late nineties.
What a beast this 1995 Iceberg cheapie is, from the Italian house that still hasn’t caught on in Spain! They have interesting little gems for men and women at insane prices. Twice for Him is simple yet charming: a citrus-herbal scent, very much in the style of Acqua di Parma, without the pretension of wannabes trying to impress or the posh fashionistas. It’s a classic herbal fougere, the real deal. Some of the best from the house for blokes. The other little perfumes they have are a bit generic, copying too many current bestsellers, or they don’t last longer than joy in the home of the unemployed. The bottle design is cool, the atomiser is good, and the cap is unique and rare. The price is ridiculous compared to today’s market. Original aroma, although the smart-alecks might say it smells like Benetton Cold (which I suspect Mr Benetton doesn’t even remember). Incredible longevity for a citrus, very fresh and breezy, ideal for spring-summer, but you can wear it all year. And think of all the people splashing out 200 euro notes on mega-posh citrus dates that last the same or less (won’t name names to avoid offending egos).
