  • We’ve been testing it out in the perfumery where I work, and it’s brilliant. It smells like freshly laundered clothes, super clean, with those ozonic notes that remind you of the scent of the washing machine and tumble dryer. It’s exactly that, with those molecules that recreate the aroma of a spotless laundry room, something we’re all sure to recognise.

  • I’ve taken this to the perfumery where I work and have been testing it for a while. It’s a super-clean scent, reminiscent of freshly laundered sheets and laundry; it smells exactly like that. You can even detect the odour of the washing machine and dryer, presumably due to those ozonic notes, combined with undeclared notes or headspace molecules that recreate the smell of clean clothes and the machine itself (I believe we’ve all heard that description, though I’m not sure if you know exactly what I’m referring to).

  • On a man’s skin, ABCBA New Alphabet is a fragrance where marine and elemi notes dominate, imparting a megamareous and familiar character that lasts until dry down. The coconut and plumaria are merely passengers, softening this facet just enough to avoid overwhelming your girlfriend at the cinema. The dry down features a pleasant musky base with an interesting sandalwood that adds elegance. I view it as a fragrance with good energy, jovial and fun, progressive and entertaining, less heavy than Megamare but with decent performance (mind the applications). If you remove the marine aspect, the dry down smells like clean sheets or a bath towel after drying in the sun. It’s very versatile from age 25, wearable all year round and for many occasions, except very formal events or intense exercise. It’s not the first time an expert has worn a citrus marine in winter, but for the cold, there are more suitable options. As always, do not rely solely on the rating; test any niche fragrance on your skin before buying and trust your skin, not just the notes. Your skin is your best judge.

  • On male skin, ABCBA New Alphabet shines with marine and elemi notes that give it a megamare-like familiar touch until it dries down. The coconut and plumaria are just guests that soften things just enough to keep your girlfriend from throwing you out of the cinema. In the end, there’s a good musky note with an elegant touch of sandalwood underneath. It’s a fragrance full of energy, cheerful and fun, progressive and entertaining, less heavy than Megamare but with good performance (watch out with the applications). If you remove the marine aspect, it smells like clean sheets or a bath towel after drying in the sun; that’s more towards the dry-down. I see it as very versatile from twenty-five years old, for all year round and many occasions, except very formal ones or intense exercise. It’s not the first time we’ve worn a citrus marine in winter, but for the cold there are more appropriate options. As always, don’t rely solely on the score: test any niche perfume on your skin before buying and trust your skin, not the paper, because it’s your best judge.
