Descripción

Anthracite Pour L'Homme by Jacomo is a men's fragrance from the olfactive family, launched in 1991. The nose behind this composition is Mark Buxton. The top notes unfold with lavender, galbanum, grapefruit, pineapple, pepper, cypress, bergamot, marjoram, tarragon, and angelica; the heart reveals lavender, cloves, cyclamen, lily root, ylang-ylang, jasmine, carnation, and rose; while the base notes settle on sandalwood, musk, oakmoss, cedar, tonka bean, and amber.

  • It seems Jacomo went all out with this fragrance, a variation of classic masculine fougères, fresher and softer, looking ahead to what was starting to trend then, without skimping on the quality of the ingredients. The care is evident in the box and bottle, which are very beautiful with a mysterious, dark design. They missed the mark: the costs didn’t align with sales. People turned their backs on Anthracite, which did propose something different, but very different, when the market was already heading elsewhere, towards something more aquatic, leaving it in no man’s land. The lack of sales has nothing to do with its value. Anthracite opens aromatic, robust, and masculine, with plenty of lavender, woods, and floral notes, but that fruity-fresh vibe of the nineties slips in like a playful bubble in a thick sea. The result is a beautiful interpretation of a classic men’s cologne with spicy, sweet, and refreshing nuances over a woody scheme, where luminous cedar and otherworldly oakmoss stand out. The quality, balance, and harmony are superlative. These days, Anthracite could be the flagship of any niche line. It’s a treasure, a masterpiece that any enthusiast should know. Too personal and artistic to succeed in a mass market; the only drawback is its performance, lasting no more than 5-6 hours, clinging to the skin from the second hour onwards.

A warm, floral scent with a spicy, fresh, and masculine edge. I absolutely love these serious fragrances with personality and herbal nuances. It feels like an old creation revisited appropriately for its time. The longevity is acceptable; it conveys the aura of a man who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to be himself. The opening is lovely, with an intriguing herbal freshness and citrus notes immediately apparent. A classic proposal with notable quality and presence, worthy of any respectable collection. Thanks to Bofifa for the sample.
