From the outset, the neroli stands out with perfect green and citrus notes to kick off the day. It’s long-lasting, unisex, and, very subtly in the dry down, a soft, creamy amber emerges that tames the aquatic facets and blends well with everything. It’s nothing extraordinary, but its main note has excellent clarity and suits any look, from casual to formal.
I’m not keen on the green opening; it smells like crisp leaves in your hand. The best part is when it dries down, because it becomes creamy, very typical of the brand, and the green notes soften until they stop being aggressive.
Yesterday I tried the last of my decant of Colonia Nobile, that classic daytime fragrance I love so much. I enjoy it immensely; sometimes I just want to smell good without surprises or provocations, something personal blending petit grain, neroli, bergamot, and jasmine. I was about to complain about the price, but something curious happened: I sprayed the last one early in the morning, then at 18:00 I applied La Panthère (which is nothing if not heavy), and… what a coincidence! This morning, while having breakfast, I could still smell the Cologne. I’m not going to pay 125 quid, but listen, it has left me speechless.
What a gem! At first, the soft acidity of the bergamot and an earthy touch of neroli transport me to a place brimming with nature. Then, the bergamot fades into the background, revealing a mysterious, intense ambroxan, accompanied by the warm maturity of oakmoss and ambrettolide. I adore it; it’s delicious, yet the more I use it, the more I feel it suits an elegant, confident man on a sunny morning in the garden of an Italian villa 🤭. Giardini di Toscana always leaves me breathless.
Starts with a sparkling citrus burst of bergamot and neroli that quickly settles into a jasmine wrapped in ambroxan, giving it that wonderfully creamy finish.
