Sometimes, when I want to return to my emotional and mental childhood, the spice aroma of proposals like this is ideal, as it takes me back to the 80s, when the economy was doing well and fears weren’t about unemployment. What fascinates me about compositions like this is the inimitable style of such old perfumes and the excitement of smelling something exclusive, because the vintage version is no longer made. Classically divided into top, heart, and base notes without seeming forced, everything fuses gradually without getting lost, only increasing or decreasing the sensation of certain scents. Hascish Femme is a beautiful fragrance from the 80s that recalls the original Opium, though it is lighter and takes its own path. The scent is spicy and slightly sweet. That sweetness is necessary so it doesn’t seem too heavy and sour. The aldehydic introduction is elegant, but it becomes natural and lively with the spiced fruit notes. This elegance is natural, without arrogance or stiffness. The sweet cinnamon interestingly powders the jasmine and the well-appreciated carnation, with the ylang appearing seductively. When you spray Hascish Femme on your skin, you get the sensation of entering a spice shop and Oriental smoke, one of those tea shops-apothecaries that existed back then in every neighbourhood and also sold Oriental perfumed oils. Besides the spices, there is a slightly sweet smoky smell in the air with spiced, floral, and fruity components that harmonise, allowing your nose to feel the magic of the fractions, perceptible only in certain fragrances. The spices like cloves and cinnamon make it clearly more of a winter scent and especially attractive on nights. In the 80s it was different; I remember older girls using it profusely during the day too, thanks to the affordable price within everyone’s reach. Hascish (which has it only in the name) is very feminine and self-assured, with a preference for a wild nature. A complex and multifaceted fragrance that never loses a certain elegance, and I am delighted to have it in my personal ‘museum’ of perfumery rarities.

Hascish Femme starts on my skin with a super spicy opening, then the amber notes, patchouli, aldehydes, and a creamy ylang-ylang emerge, followed by the incense giving it that smoky touch, the musk, and a vanilla base. Although I notice some individual notes, I feel them more blending together rather than standing apart. It reminded me a lot of Ysl’s Opium, though Hascish is softer. Many thanks to @jerry drake for letting me smell this perfume.
