J'ai Osé by Guy Laroche is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 1978, the nose behind this composition is Max Gavarry. The top notes include aldehydes, coriander, peach and citrus; the heart reveals sandalwood, patchouli, iris root, vetiver, cedar, rose and jasmine; while the base notes settle on oakmoss, benzoin, amber and musk.

I remember it so beautifully, strong and elegant, one of those that no longer exist. It lasted all day and was incredible on clothes: you could iron the blouse and the scent would still be there.
If there is one word for this perfume, it is ‘luxury’. Very intense and feminine, it opens with coal tar, amber, smoke, and a touch of rose. What a pity I cannot find anything like that masterpiece; what is sold now is not J’ai Ose. Perfect for a true lady, in her boudoir.
I adore it… it is decadent, rich, baroque, and complex. Totally unisex, though nowadays it leans more masculine. Ideal with a leather jacket, sexy, almost erotic, supremely Parisian, and a great classic.
One of the best ever released. Perfect for an elegant, sexy lady, it clung to the skin like a second layer. It lasted all day and more, even on clothes. The French house no longer makes it, but it is still available in the US, though with less tenacity than when Guy Larroche created it.
A gem from the late 70s; it opens with a strong coal tar note that hits hard, but as it dries, the oakmoss and aldehydes really come through. Don’t buy it blindly; take your time.
