Anne Flipo
Anne Flipo is a renowned French master perfumer for her extensive experience and talent in the fragrance industry. She has worked with International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) since 2004 and has created numerous fragrances for major luxury brands. Anne Flipo is one of the few selected perfumers who can claim the title of "Master Perfumer" conferred by IFF, as recognition for her outstanding work in this field.
Anne Flipo’s journey to becoming a perfumer began while studying at a perfumery school in Versailles, near Paris. While she was there, she was fascinated by fragrance ingredients and raw materials, which sparked her passion and curiosity for perfumery. She saw it as a challenge and a game, and this led her to pursue a career in the sector.
Anne Flipo has created many successful fragrances throughout her career, such as Burberry Brit Rhythm, Chloé Love Story, Jimmy Choo Illicit, Paco Rabanne Lady Million and the The Herb Garden collection for Jo Malone London, reflecting her passion for gardening. Her fragrances are distinguished by their complex and sophisticated compositions, which balance natural and synthetic materials to create unique and memorable scents.
Anne Flipo’s favourite aromas include neroli, basil, sambac jasmine, patchouli and iris. She uses all her senses to create fragrances, visualising them in her mind and then playing with the idea through flavours, textures, smells and even sounds. Her fragrances are often inspired by nature while also employing the precision of synthetics.
Anne Flipo is a collaborator with designer Frédéric Malle on several cult aromas, together with Dominique Ropion. Together, they have created some of the most popular fragrances on the market. Anne Flipo has also created fragrances for Guerlain, Yves Saint Laurent and Lancôme, among others.
Anne Flipo’s statement of intent is "my greatest ambition: transmission", and she continues to seek her masterpiece. She is a luminary in the world of perfume and continues to inspire others through her work.
