Does anyone know an equivalent for this fragrance? Or something very similar at a lower cost? I’ve checked the price and it’s 190€.
This should have been a follow-up to Kerosene. With Majnoon, we have a fragrance where coffee dominates the composition, as if you were smelling ground coffee straight from the bag, accompanied by plenty of spices. There’s a touch of oud (supporting note) and smoke in the background, though everything revolves around spiced coffee. It’s linear, with good performance, unisex-leaning masculine, and of high quality. It smells 100% like a niche perfume. The base has amber (which ultimately translates to vanilla-like accords) and vanilla, though don’t expect a sweet scent because it isn’t; the coffee work here gives it a slightly dry texture. It’s a dense fragrance. Here, coffee dominates, and it’s justifiable to say it represents this accord. This should have been a follow-up to the excellent John Pegg; his fragrance is photorealistic but linear and boring. In my opinion, it lacks development. It seems more like an extremely realistic smell than a perfume. You need to layer it and use a vanilla fragrance or something with tonka bean to give it a twist and make it more interesting. For those who enjoy spiced aromas and mainly coffee, it’s worth getting to know Majnoon.
Majnoon’s eloquence twists all my emotions. Stained red threads emerge from incoherent verses sliding over invulnerable poetry. A marginal, authentic vocation: a blend of pomegranate and grapefruit seeps in, almost creamy, sweet, sour and sticky, tracing my bones without intent to speak my name. The spices (nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, saffron) steep in hot wine, igniting an excessive love and stalking a dark desire. The scent sets its own pace, intense, twisting my forgotten gospel until I kiss the floor. My skin modulates a toasted coffee aroma, warming the surroundings with various beans, adding depth to the void and drowning out the light. This infinite prologue evokes a sensory language where madness and confrontation are the true representation. Cypress and the first wave of oud cling like burning psalms, rising from my throat to question whether it’s a sigh or a moan. A tough, spicy and very woody temperament clarifies my creed. The sorrowful, dry tobacco is a broken whirlwind longing to be that breath of freedom. Sensual champaca, almost syrupy, offers itself without glancing at a withered rose, lulling ghosts of ordinary objects. Minutes pass and those smoking embers forget the size of that fertile furrow. I set that nobody as witness that only he knows my darkness, that I bite my lips, that my appendages are very joyful, and that I hold back from being that vulgar young girl. The wind swells, blades with oud edges, tasting of honey, floral, sweet, powerful without showing the claws of the oldest art: creation. Majnoon, a work of art.

I absolutely love it, though my wife doesn’t… the classic dilemma. I’ve noticed that when it’s cold she changes her mind. For me, it’s a wonder; I adore scents that seem to linger. To my defence, my sister actually likes it. I think it’s very well finished, a pleasure to wear and makes me feel comfortable anywhere. If you buy it, you won’t go wrong… I got it as a gift, haha.

Prin Lomros Majnoon is an absolute beast: creamy, cosy and skirting gourmand territory with that subtle oud note in the base. At the price point for 50ml, I doubt it’s real oud or agarwood oil, as that would drive the cost up significantly, but it remains a marvel. Good longevity, just be aware it can stain clothes. Perfect for autumn and winter, or crisp spring days depending on your taste. Excellent value for money; a must-have for collectors. If you’re seeking genuine oud, then Azman Risk is your option.
