  • Nice bottle and a catchy name, but my resistance to its similarity with Red Tobacco works against me. It has many pros, but the scent doesn’t convince me. It smells boozy, intense, with saffron and a patchouli that dominates everything, plus there’s a strong note of tonka bean. With these industrial quantities and the tobacco, there’s too much rock and roll and merriment; good ingredients, but I don’t like getting hit in the face with it. From start to finish, it’s not for me. Besides, it clings and clogs my nostrils… cold, open spaces, unisex.

  • Beautiful bottle and a name that hooks you, but the composition wears me out. It tastes like liquor, saffron, and loads of patchouli, with tonka bean in abundance and tobacco on top. It’s an industrial quantity of rock and roll and revelry; it punches me in the face and I don’t like it. From first spray to the very end, it’s not for me. It clings too much and clogs my nostrils. Ideal for cold weather, open spaces, and unisex wear, but certainly not for my nose.

I don’t understand those who claim there was no reformulation, just a colour change. I tried the EDP version with the dark liquid at a friend’s house and fell in love at first sight; an exquisite scent that lasted all day. I bought the 100ml bottle with the yellow liquid for $270, and the result was a totally different, unpleasant smell. It cannot be compared to what I tried. The longevity is terrible: one hour of projection, then skin scent. I clung to the idea that maceration would improve it, but it didn’t. After two months, it’s still the same. There was definitely a reformulation in addition to the colour change. Based on the reviews, I’m not the only one. My advice: don’t listen to those claiming there is no reformulation in Triumph of Bacchus, and buy the version with the dark liquid.

  • It surprised me in an incredible way and has quickly become a gem in my collection. The combination of notes is spectacular: boozy rum, peach, green apple, and a sweet tobacco base create an addictive and unique aroma. I discovered it almost by chance and have no regrets. The presentation is madness, a work of art that adds to its value. From the first glance, you know you have something special. It’s a hidden gem. I feel that in South America it doesn’t have the hype it deserves, and that’s good; it keeps it more exclusive. It’s spectacular for dates, night outs, or cold weather, easy to love, and a beast at generating compliments. Scent: 10/10. Longevity: 10/10. Duration: 10-12 hours. Projection: 10/10. Final score: 10/10.

  • It is basically the best tobacco fragrance on the market, no words needed, simply gorgeous. A solid 10/10 for everyday wear. The only drawback is the price, but for me, those $250 are absolutely worth it.

  • Triumph of Bacchus justifies its price, reputation, and much more through its scent, making it one of the finest choices for cold weather. In the world of vanilla, patchouli, and tobacco scents like Carlisle, Mystery Tobacco, or Red Tobacco, this Argos stands out as the best: it balances the boozy and fruity notes, the sweetness of a vanilla tobacco, and a velvety texture that I thoroughly enjoy. The performance is brutal, similar to the others, yet this one feels more elegant, akin to the CH in that regard, fruitier and more complex without being overwhelming. Its evolution shifts the dominance from fruit to a sweeter, more present tobacco, without losing the harmonious chords. I love it; if I haven’t bought it yet, it’s due to the price and occasional scarcity, but it is worth every millilitre. I see it as slightly more masculine than feminine, perfect for dates or semi-formal gatherings when the temperature drops. Rating: 10/10. Tested from a Discovery Set.

  • What a wonderful fragrance. I tried it at a tasting with a group of friends in my city, and from that day, it made the list. It has some resemblance to Red Tobacco, but it possesses something special that makes me prefer paying extra for it. It opens boozy and, as it dries down, I assume the rum and green apple notes come through, leaving a dry finish. It feels like a tobacco scent that wants to take centre stage but doesn’t quite commit fully, which makes it even more spectacular. The bottle is very pretty. Easily a top 10 of my all-time favourites. 10 out of 10.

  • What a gem… What a discovery. An American brand… I must admit, that doesn’t appeal to me at first. Furthermore, it is very difficult to find in shops across Europe. So far, so negative. Everything else, however, is incredible. A honeyed, sweet, fruity, juicy aroma, slightly boozy, with a hint of tobacco that isn’t the main character… All the notes are balanced with exquisite taste. This is a blind buy. It enters my top 5 without hesitation. The performance is good, not miraculous, but acceptable. The price hurts. But the bottle is so beautiful, with such fine details… It is the definition of good taste. Of opulence, of divinity. Bacchus to my collection, for the sake of the remnants, AMEN!

  • What a cucumber! What a discovery! American brand, that beforehand doesn’t please me, let it be said. Also it’s hard to find in Europe. Everything else is incredible: honeyed, sweet, fruity, juicy, slightly alcoholic, with tobacco in the background but not the protagonist. All notes balanced with exquisite taste. It’s a blind buy, it enters my top 5. Performance good, acceptable, but the price hurts. The bottle is so beautiful, with well-made details, definition of good taste, opulence and divinity. Bacchus to my collection for the rest, AMEN!

  • It was a real pleasure to add this fragrance to the collection. The opening leans towards a sweet, boozy juice without being cloying, where the peach and rum really shine. As it dries down, the base takes over, with a slightly more prominent sweet vanilla touch alongside the tobacco, turning it into a beast of a scent. Sophisticated, sensual, and versatile. Suitable for a date with your partner or a drink with friends, day or night. It lasts well on my skin; the projection isn’t immense, rather it leaves a personal aura and a very pleasant trail as you pass. Excellent fragrance.

What a fragrance show! A brilliant blend where every note shines in its own facet. The ingredients are top-notch, excellent quality; it lasts over 8 hours without fail. The trail for the first 3 hours is brutal, filling the whole house. The packaging is a jewel: metallic details, cap and case featuring the notes’ history, zero speculation. It just lacks a bit of weight on the cap to feel truly luxurious. 9.5/10!

  • What a find! It’s a Mancera Red Tobacco but more polished and elegant, with a trail and longevity that justify the price. Although marketed as masculine, girls seem to love it too, as the development is delightful for everyone. Without a doubt, 10 out of 10.

  • What a spectacle! It’s a Red Tobacco by Mancera but more refined and elegant. The longevity and trail justify every euro. Although it’s categorised as masculine, women must try it; the development on both sexes is delicious. 10/10 without a doubt!

  • Imagine a Red Tobacco at its peak, without evolving, like that throughout the entire development: that is Triumph of Bacchus. The quality surpasses Mancera and the similarity is undeniable. Here the apple, peach, rum, vanilla and saffron notes are more pronounced; in Mancera they mix and mutate, some good, others not so much. In Bacchus the combination is masterful. I liked Red Tobacco a lot, but something synthetic grated on me; here everything is perfect, one of the best scents tried. What Mancera loses quickly due to budget, Bacchus maintains all. The evolution is linear and that’s what I love: if I’m going to smell like this for 24 hours projecting beastly, let it be incredible and unchanged. Not for everyone, just like the RB, but for lovers of boozy aromas it’s mandatory. Magnificent, thanks Argos.

It’s rich, but too sweet for me. It reminds me of the cough syrup from my childhood. If you like sweet things, you’ll love it. The scent is very good, impressive quality, projection and longevity too. I give it 8/10, simply it’s not for me. But it’s a great perfume and it has to be recognised.

  • Enjoy it to the fullest in cold or fresh weather. I don’t recommend it in summer, it can be suffocating. The liquor, tonka bean and tobacco take the lead; it’s sweet, semi-fruity and smoky. It has a good trail, wide reach and exceeds 8 hours; comfortable and wearable in autumn and winter. Good performance, no need to reapply. Totally unisex if you like the tonka/tobacco combo. Not my star, but definitely the best from this house I’ve tried.

  • If Angel by Mugler and Zino by Davidoff had a child, it would be this. Totally unisex, for me it’s the best of all Argos scents. The bottle is wonderful and the perfume is up to the mark.
