What a delight. Soft, sweet amber with a hint of talc. There’s a touch of fruit and citrus, but everything is perfectly balanced. Nothing to criticise. Highly recommended.
On dry down, it sounds similar (though not identical) to SWY Absolutely. It’s a very long-lasting fragrance with excellent projection. Definitely for cold climates.
On dry down, it resembles SWY Absolutely quite closely, though it’s not identical. It’s a fragrance that lasts for ages and projects truly. Definitely for cold climates.
Sacred Flame is a change of pace compared to the rest of Argos. On my skin, the opening shines with sweet citrus and warmth, holding tangerine, grapefruit and ginger through the heart, before yielding to a cinnamon rose that accompanies the comforting vanilla and amber notes of the base. The longevity was shorter than expected; it didn’t last the full day and I had to reapply, unlike other scents from the house such as Fall of Phaeton or Danae. The initial projection is strong, catching attention from over a metre away, but it fades quickly until it stays within my personal bubble. It’s versatile for casual or semi-formal wear, though its amber sweetness doesn’t suit sportswear. Ideal for spring and autumn, or cool summer evenings indoors; outdoors in the wind, it’s barely noticeable. I rank it below Fall of Phaeton, Danae and Adonis Awakens, but above Triumph of Bacchus, Bacio Immortale and Brivido Della Caccia. It’s not a blind buy despite the influencers; better to test first. In summary, I loved it and it was missing from the Argos collection.
