Angels' Share by Kilian is an oriental vanilla olfactory creation designed for men and women. Launched in 2020, this fragrance features the olfactory signature of Benoist Lapouza. Its olfactory pyramid unfolds with a cognac top note, giving way to a heart composed of cinnamon, tonka bean, oak, and Hedione. The base reveals a warm and enveloping combination of vanilla, praline, sandalwood, and caramelised almonds.

So this is what happens when liquor manufacturers make perfumes. They want to turn us all into scented alcoholics. For me, there are few niche brands that hit as many marks as Kilian. In general, I think Angel’s Share is notable, more than I thought and more than I expected. This begins as the great gourmand you expect: a great and exuberant slap of cognac, pralinés, wood, vanilla, cinnamon in an amplified version. Here you don’t enjoy a glass; the whole bottle is in your hands. And the more it develops, the more this divine liquor note stands out, and this sweet paste remains, which I also perceive in the projection. The scent is sweet and alcoholic; you have to like that duo to appreciate it in its entirety. The cinnamon hits the timbre insistently in the heart phase and is noticeable mixing with the base duo of praliné and vanilla, while the sandalwood and oak are somewhat weak secondary notes. The overall scent is quite sweet but never too much. In the final phase, a scent of cinnamon and apple pie is preserved, conveying a soft and spiced warmth. Angel’s Share is not a heavyweight, despite having good projection for almost three hours. Longevity and sillage are only slightly above average in my case. An interesting proposal for winter, if your wallet agrees.
I ordered testers and honestly, I’ve tried it several days and nothing… it’s not a heavy trail, barely lingers on my skin, and it’s one of those perfumes where you have to press your nose against the skin to find it. What a letdown…
Honestly, I didn’t like it. It has a very marked and stinging cinnamon note that I don’t like at all. But I have to admit that the dry-down (when it’s perceptible only at skin level) is exquisite. You can feel the vanillas and tonka. For an intimate encounter, I wouldn’t think it’s crazy to apply this perfume about 5 hours beforehand.
It’s a pity that sometimes viral success generates a massive contagion of devotion to something, only to realise afterwards that it wasn’t worth it. A small disappointment that confirms that, among Kilian’s great perfumes, this isn’t one of them. It’s pleasant, easy… it reminds me a bit of Burberry Black, which is very fashionable, for that point of sweet freshness that the brandy adds, very toned down and oxygenated so it doesn’t constitute an overly intense scent. It’s a perfume to gift in a committed situation because it has all the parameters very balanced and correct; it has nothing to risk. It’s a nice scent, like Gabrielle or Tous, that will never annoy anyone; it’s that person who never breaks the crockery nor emits opinions that stray from a very consensus-based frame. A generic scent, with a point of light freshness and joy, somewhat blurred, so it’s impossible for it to disgust… but is that enough for a perfume?
Addictive. I have an absurd obsession with this fragrance. I was able to try it in the Kilian 5-sample pack some time ago, a pack I bought because of the hype for Black Phantom, so Angel’s Share wasn’t even the main objective. But days passed, and that scent got completely stuck in my head, something that didn’t happen with its companions. One night, I atomised it with 5 sprays and went to pick up my girlfriend in the car; when she entered, her first reaction left a mark on me. After turning towards me with confusion, she persistently asked what perfume I was wearing; it smelled wonderful. I didn’t know what to say, and after a while she asked again, already annoyed. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced something so exaggerated with a perfume. Angel’s Share has that magical aura… It’s a perfume that can go unnoticed at first, but it gets etched in the mind; that sweet and alcoholic scent creates a genuinely seductive aura around you. My next purchase for sure.
I fell horribly in love with this perfume. It’s warm, sweet, and delicious. I smell the cognac only at the start, then there’s that spiced cinnamon and sweet vanilla. It’s a total pleasure for the senses; this is a proper perfume bomb.
The first time I smelled it, I didn’t like it at all; the cognac note was so brash that it put me off. A few months later, something told me to revisit it, and I was pleasantly surprised. The opening definitely smells of cognac, which is evident, but when worn on skin (a mistake I made the first time, smelling it only on a blotter), it has adapted very well, and I’ve started to notice those gourmand notes intermingled with that ‘alcoholic’ tone of the cognac. I’ve liked it quite a bit; it’s when an hour has passed that it softens a little, and I’ve appreciated the hype this perfume has in its entirety. Very tasty.
A delight, but only in very cold weather. Angel’s Share is a great perfume; although it’s unisex, I feel it’s more feminine than, for example, Black Phantom (perhaps because of cognac versus rum in the liquor note). The quality is noticeable and enjoyable when worn, but watch out: it’s for extremely cold days or nights. It’s strong and invasive, eternal on skin and clothes, needless to say. I feel it’s for a dinner night by the fireplace. To me, it seems more of a perfume to enjoy for oneself, more intimate than one to apply and wear out and about. I think it will be part of my collection forever.
It’s a fragrance that takes the prize. Potent, long-lasting, and with projection off the charts; it leaves a rich trail that earns compliments after just two or three sprays. It lasts all day. It’s a serious, solemn, and classy perfume. If you’re looking for pure elegance and beauty, this is it.
There are many things to say about this perfume, but the truth is, you simply must try it. It could become one of your favourites; when I first smelled it, I was completely smitten and couldn’t stop sniffing it. I fell so in love that I had to buy it on the spot. Its scent is intoxicating, original, unique, and addictive. The combination of notes makes it perfect; I adore it and it’s absolutely worth owning. It makes me happy; it’s one of those scents that takes you to ecstasy.
A delicious gourmand and boozy aroma. To my nose, the standout notes are cognac, cinnamon, praline, and oak, all very well combined. It also has a powerful trail and longevity, which speaks to the quality of its ingredients.
Boring to the point of no return. The worst of the liqueur collection in my opinion. A perfume inflated by marketing and ‘influencers’. Try L’Heure Verte instead and you’ll discover a genuine, high-quality scent; don’t follow trends, discover it yourself 😉
I knew Kilian’s name but not this perfume until I smelled it on a trip to Edinburgh. I liked it but moved on, imagining the price, until my sister pushed me to buy it. I feel I took a while to get it, but after two months, it’s absolute madness. I have no words for how much I love it and how painful it is to have so few occasions to wear it. So I bought a near-identical Arab dupe: Kismet Angel. Yes, I compare them and they’re identical, but this one has less punch and a hint of honey that makes it sweeter. When it runs out, I’ll buy the Angel Share refill no matter the cost.
A spectacular boozy cinnamon dessert.
On my skin, the liquor and cinnamon really come through. I’ve never been a fan of boozy perfumes, but I love this one; it’s rich yet simple, like a spice cake soaked in liqueur. I can’t stop saying I like it, though it lacks complexity, which I add by layering it with other scents. I own five bottles because it’s the base of almost all my night-time layering. It lasts and projects well. To me, it feels more feminine than unisex, but everyone should wear what they want.
A delightful cognac opening that dries down into spices, chocolate, vanilla and woods. It gives a slight apple pie vibe, but on the dry-down there’s something unpleasant I can’t quite pinpoint; I think it has to do with the cinnamon mixed with praline. It’s a good basic alcoholic fragrance for beginners or for trying out the Kilian house. There are better ones, but I think this is where most people start, with above-average performance.
Angel’s Share by Killian: A big, refined, glamorous, exclusive and delicate gourmand. It’s like a luxury dessert, straight up: high quality, exotic and exclusive. Sweet and boozy with a subtle, delicious apple note. Definitely for cold weather; I think it’s totally feminine, a must-have for a classy, stylish and confident woman. I’m not saying a man can’t wear it, but in my opinion it’s 100% feminine. Not for daily wear, but for special occasions. I loved its dry-down. Scent: 10. Projection: good, about two hours. Longevity: 8 to 10 hours. Recommended.
I wanted to believe I could replace this fragrance with one of its cheaper inspirations. But to my misfortune, I was gifted a decant, and having a few millilitres to play with, I’ve become infatuated with this juice and no similar scent since. When this runs out, I’ll need a small bottle. It’s gorgeous.
It’s an incredibly pleasant perfume, not too strong but it lasts for ages and its trail projects beautifully. If I had to compare it to something ‘everyone knows’, to me it smells like baked apples.
Love at first sight. With just one spray, it became one of my favourites. That bohemian, delicate and classic touch has me hooked. The tonka bean, cognac and oak notes are very prominent; it’s a powerful and utterly unique scent that leaves me with the best feelings.
It’s crazy how alcoholic a perfume can get, haha. It hasn’t disappointed me; I had no expectations as I hadn’t seen reviews, but I assure you they won’t regret trying this winter/autumn wonder. The opening is what stands out most with its cognac present for a not very long time (unfortunately), but afterwards, cinnamon and vanilla take the lead along with the praline. As for performance, at two metres the scent was felt with just one spray on the wrist; it’s really very potent. Its longevity is easily around 12 hours, projecting about 4. For me, the price is somewhat high, but it has exceptional quality within perfumery, especially given the longevity. A wonder without doubt. Recommended for a special occasion, like a date, etc. I do not recommend it for daily use unless you apply one or two sprays, as it’s really a beast. That said, it’s a completely unisex scent, tending in my opinion to be more feminine. Trail: 10/10, Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 10/10.
I had wanted to try this Angels’ Share fragrance by By Kilian for a long time. It didn’t disappoint me, but it didn’t go crazy either. It’s a sweet fragrance, a bit alcoholic; I would have liked the cognac note to be more predominant and for there to be a pleasant praline note. From there on, it’s a fragrance that will get you many compliments from women, as they love the sweet, with decent times. But for the price, I think there are other fragrances that also fulfil the same purpose. So if I were to buy it again, I wouldn’t. It’s a good fragrance, yes, but not for what it’s asked for.
Beautiful creamy creation, persistent and very sensual. The vanilla and tonka notes are very prominent, making it sweet; it reminds me of Tobacco Vanille by Ford. Super unisex. It lasts an eternity on clothes.
I think it adds nothing. It smells like an afternoon taking pancakes with cream and cinnamon in a patisserie. If you are a man and wear this, you will look like a panellet; only for very young men seeking a treat. If you are a man over 40 and wear this, you will make a fool of yourself. Do not buy blindly. It’s more of a feminine perfume.
For lovers of gourmand, of the sweet to the point of being cloying (without despising it, it’s a reality). But with an opening that, in my taste, is the best. Many find the opening off-putting, when I think it’s quite the opposite. The opening gives it all its charm, making it special and unique. In a gourmand perfume, it was brilliant to give it that opening: a bold, innovative, and unique hit of cognac alcohol when Angel’s Share first came out. After that, many imitated it. It’s an opening you don’t expect, one that leaves you stunned like a shot of alcohol, yet invigorating. After that challenging opening, the sweetness arrives, sweet enough to cause diabetes: it smells of praline, cinnamon, caramel, date, vanilla, tonka bean… and what finishes it off is that touch of almond milk that gives it a bitter and creamy point, absolutely contrasting, which finishes the job. It’s exquisite. Many have imitated it, but no one has matched it. Special mention to Kamhra by Lattafa. It’s delicious, but the only thing similar to Angel’s Share by Killian is the bottle; the scent has NOTHING to do with it. Stop saying they are dupes. In summary: do toffee candies have an age? Do they have sex? Yes, but do not wear this in summer or spring because you could send someone to the ICU. Scent: 9, Longevity: 8, Duration: +8h, Projection: 7.5, Versatility: 5, Price: $$$$ Final Score: 8.8
Non-invasive alcoholic gourmand! It opens with sweet cognac accompanied by a vanilla that lingers for most of the development. Want more sweetness? It comes with cinnamon and praline that leave a supremely addictive scent. It resembles caramel or a very sweet dessert to my mind. In my opinion, it’s not overwhelming; it’s warm and tasty, for occasional use, formal events, weddings, and contrasts well in nightclub environments, preferably in winter. The good: the quality of the scent is noticeable, great performance, and denotes unmatched class and sexiness at the same time, so compliments won’t be lacking. The not-so-good: its price, plus there are already many dupes, I’m not sure if the bottle is still worth it.
Class and elegance, what a welcoming fragrance. I always refused to try it due to the hype and because it’s a ‘Beyoncé favourite’… ugh, please not! Until one day I thought: at least I need to know what it smells like and if it’s worth it. I bought a decant… ugh, I fell in love. It’s a hug of cognac, cinnamon, and wood, a feast of praline, ideal for winter nights, embracing my soul. Completely unisex with excellent longevity. Divine. Obviously, it’s now in my collection.
I wore it last night. I tried it from a decant and I think it’s a delicious perfume for a MAN. Smelling it on a man finds me very attractive. It has a magnificent liqueur opening (it belongs to the ‘The Liquors’ collection, totally appropriate). It moves to wood, with warmth and a smoky sweetness, becoming softer and more gourmand. A quality gourmand for autumn or winter nights. It feels dry for a woman, but very pretty for a man. Nothing overwhelming. Its trail and longevity are correct; I think it’s for ‘seduction’ at skin level. It’s not a strident aroma, but a delicate halo. Over time, I appreciate the caramel more; it reminds me of ‘Tobacco Vanille’ by Tom Ford, but this is finer and subtler. Undoubtedly unisex, but every time I put my wrist to my nose… delicious for a man.
What a perfume! Totally unisex, it opens with a delicious cognac. Although it becomes quite sweet, it’s addictive. The projection and trail are brutal, like few others on the market. Despite being expensive, it’s totally worth it; no wonder it’s always among my winter favourites. 10/10, highly recommended.
It has completely captivated me. At first, the cognac adds warmth and elegance, feeling very sophisticated. Then, the cinnamon and tonka bean introduce a spicy yet soft touch, while the oak creates an earthy base that evokes a forest. The best part is that sweet base: vanilla, praline, and caramelised almonds feel like a warm, creamy embrace that lasts all day. Perfect for a special night or just to feel good at any moment. I absolutely love it!
Angels’ Share by Kilian is an exquisite gourmand fragrance, perhaps one of the best in perfumery overall. It gives that feeling of apple pie and cinnamon, well-soaked in cognac, which makes you want to eat one on a rainy winter afternoon. It is, simply, a true sensory marvel. Its character is extremely addictive and seductive, and its performance is excellent, ensuring longevity and projection that make every penny worth it. For any gourmand fan, it’s a must-have in the collection. A true masterpiece that stands out for quality and impact, recommended 100%.
At first, those lovely notes of cognac, cinnamon and tonka bean; after a while, praline starts to emerge, which makes it somewhat delicious; it would easily be unisex for evening wear, though I’d wear it at any time knowing the consequences that entails. I feel I’ve tried similar things, but the closest I’ve smelled is Tonka Gold by Atralia, perhaps not of the same quality but the resemblance is great.
Kilian took it off the field with the definitive cinnamon cognac perfume. Pure fantasy; all the imitations fall short, nothing but fraud. Deep, resounding, with great staying power.
A spiced, dense and sweet perfume, with a clearly perceptible alcoholic note. Very beautiful, especially in the cold, during winter season. Longevity and trail are excellent.
Headache and nausea in a bottle of Fancy…
I was worried about the cognac note at the start, and indeed, at first it’s the only thing I notice. Soon the cinnamon and a slight sweetness appear, but on my skin the cognac remains the protagonist. It feels dense and heavy. I tried the supposed Zara dupe, but in my opinion, they have nothing to do with each other; that one seems much softer and more balanced. Still, I’d like to smell it on male skin to see if the notes change, but as it works on me, it’s a resounding no. 💔
Addictive, cloying yet pleasing because it doesn’t smell synthetic. I use it for reading or staying at home, and I don’t like others smelling it as it mixes with their clothes or sweat, so I also dislike them smelling it on me; that’s why I’m not comfortable wearing it outside. If I reserve it for myself, it’s pure bliss: my perfume in solitude, my rainy days and sofa time. I love the warm light of the living room; it gives me the same vibes as ‘Le Baiser du Dragon’, probably due to the almonds and liquor chocolate. Comfort and refuge, wooden cabins, Aspen, Andorra, Zermatt. 🕯️ 9.75/10.🔥
In terms of structure and behaviour, it doesn’t suit me; it’s cloying and tiring… Drunk from start to finish, sweet and spiced. I understand why people like it; the scent isn’t bad, logically. But it’s cloying. Basically, a sweet liquor buzz. That’s it. Nothing discreet; if you want to draw attention, this is the perfect plan. Cold and nights. Goodbye.
Smells like apple pie with cinnamon. It’s a VERY sweet perfume and all the notes are noticeable, with the cognac and cinnamon standing out in my opinion. It’s an ultra-intense scent that fills the room for the first 4-5 hours before fading slightly. A compliment magnet in the right setting that makes a statement for about 7-8 hours. Scent 9.6/10, longevity 8.5/10, projection 10/10, fragrance 9/10. Some won’t get it, but for me, it’s a beast.
It’s a warm, intoxicating, sweet and spiced scent that envelops you from the very first moment. It feels incredibly cosy and has excellent longevity, although the price is rather steep. If you’re dying for notes of cognac, cinnamon and tonka bean with hints of vanilla, this is definitely your fragrance. That said, don’t buy it blindly: both the cost and its very distinct personality (it’s intense, spiced and has that ‘liquorish’ air) mean it’s not for everyone.
