  Anori opens with a hyper-realistic magnolia, almost letting you feel the fleshy texture of the petals, with a very subtle salty touch. Once it settles, the floral becomes soapy and yields to a salty wood. The result is a fresh, woody white floral smelling of the seaside: imagine a garden of magnolias at dawn on the Cantabrian coast, fresh yet sunny, where the floral scent blends with the brine of the sea. It projects well for half an hour, then becomes a skin scent but still throws occasional bursts. On my skin, it lasts eight hours at 30°C. I’ve worn it for days and it’s a white floral unisex leaning towards feminine, lovely, with a good contrast between sweetness and salinity. As it’s not intrusive, it suits any good-weather occasion. It smells very much like Hermès’ Un Jardin sur la Lagune, but Anori is more soapy and ethereal. Since both were released in 2019, the year Ellena retired, I wonder if Nagel used leftovers from his master, if they made separate versions, or if the master copied the student. Whatever the case, I’ll stick with this one as it works better on my skin. Pleasant: 7/10 Interesting: 6/10 Versatile: 6/10 Original: 8/10
