Perfumes de Rosendo Mateu

Rosendo Mateu is a Master Perfumer known for his exceptional talent and creativity in the world of perfumery. Born in Spain, Mateu began his career in the fragrances industry at the early age of 15, when he joined the perfumery company Puig in Barcelona as an apprentice. While working across various departments, he developed an interest in perfumes and began to work in the perfumery department.

Mateu’s passion for perfumery led him to study the elements, raw materials and ingredients of perfumery in Grasse, France, at the Roure School of Master Marcel Carles (now Givaudan), followed by several years in Geneva with the Grand Master Arturo Jordi Pey (Firmenich) and in Paris with Max Gavary (I.F.F.). He acquired extensive knowledge and experience by working with the best perfumers from around the world and developing fragrances for major brands, including international brands.

Mateu’s collaborations with prestigious brands such as Antonio Banderas, Carolina Herrera, Paco Rabanne and Zara have resulted in numerous successful fragrances that have become favourites among many people around the world. In 2010, he was appointed Master Perfumer for his dedication and knowledge of perfumery, joining the exclusive group of perfumers with this prestigious title.

Mateu’s creativity and experience in the industry led him to develop his own collection of fragrances. In 2014, he began working on his own collection with his son Joan, which was launched in Spain in late 2015 with four fragrances. The collection was so well received that it was expanded to five unisex fragrances in 2017.

In addition to his work in perfumery, Mateu has also developed the composition of gin for the international market, bringing his talent and creativity to the world of alcoholic beverages. He also worked on the scent of the sweets for the Barcelona Reyes parade event, demonstrating his ability to create fragrances for unique occasions.
