Dahab by Kajal

It’s a lovely perfume. Passion fruit and apple embrace you fresh and discreetly before descending into woods and musk. It’s very wearable, with a nod to Kirke by Tiziana Terenzi, but sweeter and more feminine. The only thing that disappointed me was that the longevity and projection weren’t what I expected. Otherwise, its freshness leaves me feeling happy and energised for work with the right attitude.

Dahab by Kajal: superb, rich, sweet, fruity and floral – exactly what I was looking for. It projects well, enveloping you and accompanying you without being loud or annoying. It was a blind buy and when it arrived, I loved it because it had everything I wanted. That said, to be honest, I imagined it to be stronger and more intense. It didn’t quite meet my expectations, but I can’t deny it’s lovely and I adore it. I’d give it 8/10; although it wasn’t as explosive, I still enjoy it immensely.

With ‘Dahab’, which means gold, the fragrance should exude wealth and luxury. But to my nose, it doesn’t smell of opulence, but rather a mature fruit cocktail. For a niche perfume, it’s neither difficult nor challenging, nor much of a game changer. It’s fun, cheerful and playful, but a little basic. People define it as elegant, but I think differently: it smells like Fructis with steroids, like rich drugstore shampoo – nothing complex or distinguished. It has its moment, surely, but not for sophisticated events, rather for youthful and carefree occasions. Tropical apple and passion fruit with a decent fixative, but not memorable. The bottle is beautiful, but for the price and what it offers, I think it’s expensive.

Wonderful. From start to finish, a juicy passion fruit with woody touches. I love patchouli, but I don’t sense it as much as the musk, and yet, I adore the musk.

What I read: ‘With Dahab, which means gold, the fragrance exudes wealth and luxury’. Gold, luxury and the verb exude in the same sentence. That makes my brain unable to resist buying it blind, with a couple of bottles. What I smell: a smoothie of passion fruit, woods and apples. What I feel: the urge to run away. Do you know those fragrances you don’t like but last a short time and then you get rid of them? That’s not the case. It lasts a lifetime. It’s not for me. The bottle is very flashy, though.

Wow, what a rich and elegant, potent aroma. I smell tropical incense, which is good – it’s addictive and has excellent longevity; if I get into the car another day, it still smells of Dahab, and I’m not one of those who wear much perfume. I recommend it; for me, it’s suitable all year round, for daytime special meetings or at night. It’s well worth the money.

I don’t like it; the passion fruit is far too intense and gives me a headache. I don’t detect the green apple promised in the reviews, just a piercing, amber scent. The good news: the trail and longevity are world-class; I can smell it from metres away with just two sprays, and it’s hard to wash off. No niche fragrance matches that quality; my favourite expensive ones barely last two hours on the skin. I’d like to try its sister, Lamar, for the pineapple note, but I’ll buy a decant. If anyone in Santiago has mine, let me know; I’ll sell it cheap with the box and 98% content.

It’s sophisticated and suitable for any season; on my skin it lasts over eight hours. If it’s very hot, the musk and amber base can feel heavy, but it’s very consistent; three or four sprays are enough. I recommend ordering a 2ml sample to remove any doubts.

Delicious, similar to the discontinued Omnia Paraiba by Bvlgari, especially as it dries down. However, Kajal is sweeter, has better performance and seems like a finer fragrance, whereas Omnia is not quite as refined.

I bought a decant before committing to the full price. I admit it’s pleasant and long-lasting, but it didn’t fascinate me. It’s tropical with a well-crafted passion fruit, but the trail is quite average. In any case, it didn’t match with me or my husband. Would I buy it? Definitely NO.

It’s super cheerful, vibrant, sexy and luxurious. On my skin, the opening is exquisite, with citrus notes and sweet apple and passion fruit. I love the musky, amber base. It’s true it’s not a ‘room-filler’ and I like that; I enjoy it more intimately. It lasts about eight hours on the skin: the trail (moderate) for about four hours, and I still enjoy it for another four or five hours. For me, that’s enough. The presentation is lovely, elegant, with an oriental touch, and the juice colour is gorgeous.

I’m not much for the tropical, but I admit this is beautiful. It smells of passion fruit from start to finish. The lovely thing is that it starts strong and then softens, combined with amber and musk, leaving it super pleasant. It leaves a moderate but noticeable trail. It’s similar to Kirke by Tiziana Terenzi, but this smells better and has a more sublime finish. If you have to choose and spend, you go for Dahab Kajal; besides, the bottle is gorgeous. I imagined something more Arabic and incense, but here you have passion fruit that eventually takes on an oriental touch. It suits all seasons, ideal for showing off when you’re feeling happy. Totally feminine.

Overrated. The scent itself is a 10, but the longevity and projection fall short, while the price is a 20/10… It smells expensive, fruity, sweet and tropical, with those juicy fruits right on point, rich and elegant. It doesn’t seem sexy to me at all. I wouldn’t buy it again. It reminds me a lot of Erba Pura, which is cheaper but a beast when it comes to longevity and projection.

I bought it after hearing nothing but praise for this fragrance. Every nose is a world of its own… mine and my husband’s absolutely detested it 😢.
