It’s sweet, yes, but with class. I know the market is saturated with sweets and that they’re sometimes unfairly associated with femininity, but here the cliché works. It smells of passion fruit and fruits, and unlike others like the one from Bulgari, you can tell the quality: it doesn’t smell of alcohol or drops of fruit in water. Perhaps if you already have a wardrobe full of sweeties it won’t be your next purchase, but if you’re looking for something like this, it’s the undisputed queen.
What a beauty; it took my breath away. Very refined. If you like classy sweet perfumes, it’s 100% recommended. It has an air of Erba Pura but more sophisticated.
What a beauty! It completely captivated me from every angle; it’s very refined. If you enjoy classy, sweet fragrances, it’s 100% recommended. It has an air of Erba Pura but feels more sophisticated!!
I’ll just add that, in addition to the official notes, I detect a lot of oud in it, especially once the other notes fade. That’s my personal opinion. Otherwise, it’s beautiful and very classy, something shocking in such a fruity perfume. That is its problem: little versatility, only for very special occasions.
Just to add, beyond the listed notes, I particularly appreciate the oud, especially in the later stages once the rest has faded. That’s purely my personal take. Otherwise, it’s gorgeous and very classy, which is somewhat surprising for such a fruity fragrance. That’s the issue, though: it lacks versatility and is really only suitable for very special occasions.
I received this as a gift because it was on my wishlist, though I hadn’t tried it yet. My first impression was disappointing: it opens with a rich, realistic passionfruit scent, and I worried it would be overrated if that was all it offered. Fortunately, after the fruit comes the musk in the dry down, where it truly becomes interesting. It smells elegant and luxurious—a sweet yet restrained musk, with the fruit stepping back to create balance. It leaves an attractive, sexy scent without veering into vulgarity. I absolutely love it, though I feel it’s pricey given its performance on my skin. It dries down similarly to Erba Pura, but without the passionfruit note (which is mixed with other fruits in EP) and with slightly reduced intensity, offering more elegance without lasting longer (to be clear, neither this nor any Xerjoff fragrances last more than five hours on my skin). I’d advise not buying without sampling; depending on how much you enjoy the scent and performance, the price may seem reasonable or not. Here in Chile it’s summer, so it feels appropriate, but I hope to try it in winter; I believe it will work just as well. It’s delicious, a typical niche fragrance, and has completely won me over despite the cost. My best advice is to seek out decants or a discovery kit.
Hello, does anyone know if there’s any Arabic perfume similar to this Dahab by Kajal, like Rasasi, Ard Al Zaafaran or Lattafa?
This is delicious! A sweet, fruity fragrance with passion fruit as the star. It’s beautiful, elegant and easy to wear. It lasts around four hours on the skin, with the final notes clinging close to the skin; on clothes, it evaporates quickly, lasting no more than six hours. The trail is low to moderate for the first two hours, then becomes purely for personal enjoyment. It leaves much to be desired compared to its sibling Lamar, which is a nuclear bomb that lasts forever. Scent: 10/10, Longevity: 3/10, Sillage: 3/10, Value: 5/10. I wouldn’t buy it again, although it’s incredibly rich; I’m looking for better performance.
I adore Dahab, but unfortunately it doesn’t last long; on skin it leaves a dirty yet sweet and warm trail. Regarding trail, projection and longevity, it is abysmally expensive, yet its original, cheerful, warm, fruity and sensual scent justifies the price. If you want it to compensate your investment with a BOOM and huge projection, don’t buy it. It’s a jewel to enjoy in enclosed spaces and close to the skin. Ideal for layering, its powerful fruit masks whatever is underneath. I own it and love it because I enjoy the experience without seeking compliments. It’s feminine, sensual, fruity, warm, of an arabesque style and beautiful, but not overwhelming or heavy. Use it as a signature, but if you’re looking for compliments with other perfumes, go for something more intense.
I bought it after reading so many reviews and couldn’t resist. The scent drives me wild; it’s one of my favourites. For me, passion fruit and musk dominate. The only downside is that, for the price, it lasts a maximum of 6 hours on skin and 4 hours of trail. I wish they reformulated it so it was worth it, but I still say it’s one of the best in the world.
I purchased it because, after reading so many glowing reviews, I simply couldn’t resist owning it. The scent drives me wild; it’s one of my favourites. Notes of passion fruit and musk dominate. It’s a shame that, given the price, it lasts on the skin for a maximum of six hours. The trail is about four hours before it fades to skin-only scent. I really hope they reformulate it to make it worth the cost; nevertheless, it remains one of my absolute favourites in the world!
I bought it after hearing nothing but praise for this fragrance. Every nose is a world of its own… mine and my husband’s absolutely detested it 😢.
I bought it after hearing all the wonderful things, but every nose is a world… mine and my husband’s detested it 😢.
Overrated. The scent itself is a 10, but the longevity and projection fall short, while the price is a 20/10… It smells expensive, fruity, sweet and tropical, with those juicy fruits right on point, rich and elegant. It doesn’t seem sexy to me at all. I wouldn’t buy it again. It reminds me a lot of Erba Pura, which is cheaper but a beast when it comes to longevity and projection.
I’m not usually a huge fan of tropical scents, but this one smells lovely. Passion fruit dominates from start to finish; it’s powerful at first but then softens with amber and musk, leaving a very pleasant trail. The projection is moderate but noticeable. It reminds me of Kirke by Tiziana Terenzi, though this one smells better as Kirke lacks that sublime dry-down that Dahab has. If I had to choose and spend without hesitation, I’d go for Dahab Kajal, plus the bottle is gorgeous. I imagined something Arab with incense and woods, but here you find passion fruit (which does take on an Arab touch at the end). I wear it in all seasons, perfect for showing off when you’re feeling happy. Totally feminine.
I’m not much for the tropical, but I admit this is beautiful. It smells of passion fruit from start to finish. The lovely thing is that it starts strong and then softens, combined with amber and musk, leaving it super pleasant. It leaves a moderate but noticeable trail. It’s similar to Kirke by Tiziana Terenzi, but this smells better and has a more sublime finish. If you have to choose and spend, you go for Dahab Kajal; besides, the bottle is gorgeous. I imagined something more Arabic and incense, but here you have passion fruit that eventually takes on an oriental touch. It suits all seasons, ideal for showing off when you’re feeling happy. Totally feminine.
To me, it’s gorgeous, different and unique. It earns me plenty of compliments and people always ask what I’m wearing. They say I smell like a rich person; simply spectacular. On my skin, the longevity is infinite; my clothes still smell the next day. Highly recommended.
It’s super cheerful, vibrant, sexy and luxurious. On my skin, the opening is exquisite, with citrus notes and sweet apple and passion fruit. I love the musky, amber base. It’s true it’s not a ‘room-filler’ and I like that; I enjoy it more intimately. It lasts about eight hours on the skin: the trail (moderate) for about four hours, and I still enjoy it for another four or five hours. For me, that’s enough. The presentation is lovely, elegant, with an oriental touch, and the juice colour is gorgeous.
It’s super cheerful, vibrant, sexy and luxurious. On my skin, the opening is exquisite, with those citrusy and sweet notes of apple and passion fruit. I love the musky and amber base. It’s not a ‘bombshell’; I enjoy it more intimately. It lasts about 8 hours: 4 hours of trail and then I can still detect it for another 4 or 5 hours. For me, that’s enough. The presentation is lovely, elegant, with an oriental touch, and the juice colour is gorgeous.
I bought a decant before committing to the full price. I admit it’s pleasant and long-lasting, but it didn’t fascinate me. It’s tropical with a well-crafted passion fruit, but the trail is quite average. In any case, it didn’t match with me or my husband. Would I buy it? Definitely NO.
I love it; it brightens my day. It smells of passion fruit, exclusive beach, yacht and champagne. As I’d love for my family to enjoy it as much as I do, they don’t find it elegant or cheerful; they simply don’t care or even find it annoying because it’s so sweet. This fragrance is playful, excessively fruity and requires confidence in yourself to wear; there will be people who don’t like it, but it smells of joy and elegance (to me). I don’t see it for anything other than going out at night for dates, clubs or the beach (perhaps a wedding in Cancún, yummi!). It’s not casual, nor for work or daily wear. The dry-down is wonderfully elegant.
Delicious, similar to the discontinued Omnia Paraiba by Bvlgari, especially as it dries down. However, Kajal is sweeter, has better performance and seems like a finer fragrance, whereas Omnia is not quite as refined.
To me, it’s a passion fruit cocktail, an exquisite aroma. It’s fruity, but on my nose it comes across as simple and easy to find in cheaper options.
I ordered a sample and it’s now my favourite. It conveys elegance, class and sexiness; it smells like an impressive tropical cocktail, very fruity. At first, you feel the freshness of bergamot and green apple with that passion fruit, which is one of the best I’ve ever smelled. If you like fruity scents, this is for you. It’s sophisticated, good for any season and it lasts more than 8 hours. If it’s very hot, it can feel heavy due to the musk and amber base, but it’s very consistent; 3 or 4 applications are enough. I recommend ordering a 2ml sample to be sure.
I detect the passion fruit all over my skin with that lovely musk… it lasts about six hours and the projection is moderate for the first three. It’s my signature fragrance; I love it and already have a refill.
I ordered a sample and it’s my favourite to date. It conveys elegance, class and sexiness; it smells like an impressive, very fruity tropical cocktail. Upon spraying, you feel the freshness of bergamot and green apple alongside that passion fruit, one of the best I’ve ever smelled. If you like fruity scents, this is heaven for you. It’s sophisticated and suitable for any season; on my skin it lasts over eight hours. If it’s very hot, the musk and amber base can feel heavy, but it’s very consistent; three or four sprays are enough. I recommend ordering a 2ml sample to remove any doubts.
Honestly, I don’t like it because the passion fruit is too present and intense. I let myself be carried away by reviews that said it was a spectacular green apple, but I don’t feel it, just a sharp and very ambered passion fruit that gives me a headache. The good thing: its trail and longevity are from another world, impactful. I don’t know another that has that; you can smell it from metres away with two sprays and it’s hard to get off the skin. Of all the niches I’ve tried, none has this quality; the favourites I like almost as much usually last 2 hours. I want to try its sister Lamar because I like pineapple, but this time I’ll buy a decant. If any lover lives in Santiago (Chile) and wants to sell it, send me a message and I’ll sell it cheap, with box and almost complete, barely used.
I don’t like it; the passion fruit is far too intense and gives me a headache. I don’t detect the green apple promised in the reviews, just a piercing, amber scent. The good news: the trail and longevity are world-class; I can smell it from metres away with just two sprays, and it’s hard to wash off. No niche fragrance matches that quality; my favourite expensive ones barely last two hours on the skin. I’d like to try its sister, Lamar, for the pineapple note, but I’ll buy a decant. If anyone in Santiago has mine, let me know; I’ll sell it cheap with the box and 98% content.
Mine looks like it’s been watered down; far from the hype, it projects terribly. I barely notice it and it lasts a mere sigh on the skin. What a disappointment 🙁
Wow, what a rich and elegant, potent aroma. I smell tropical incense, which is good – it’s addictive and has excellent longevity; if I get into the car another day, it still smells of Dahab, and I’m not one of those who wear much perfume. I recommend it; for me, it’s suitable all year round, for daytime special meetings or at night. It’s well worth the money.
Dahab is passion fruit made exquisite: a fruity explosion, elegant, sophisticated and warm. It’s not the same as Erba Pura and has nothing synthetic about it. I can’t speak of longevity and projection because I tried it with a decant and it didn’t seem like a beast. I’d use it in spring, summer and autumn. Edit: I’ve already bought a bottle and can add that it’s quite powdery, musky and dense. Longevity is good, but as I’m one who uses many sprays (10), be careful: it’s not fresh enough for much heat; it’s warm and ambered.
What I read: ‘With Dahab, which means gold, the fragrance exudes wealth and luxury’. Gold, luxury and the verb exude in the same sentence. That makes my brain unable to resist buying it blind, with a couple of bottles. What I smell: a smoothie of passion fruit, woods and apples. What I feel: the urge to run away. Do you know those fragrances you don’t like but last a short time and then you get rid of them? That’s not the case. It lasts a lifetime. It’s not for me. The bottle is very flashy, though.
What I read: ‘With Dahab, which means gold, the fragrance oozes wealth and luxury’. Gold, luxury and the verb ooze. And all in the same phrase! That makes my brain unable to resist buying it blind, with a couple. What I smell: a smoothie of passion fruit, woods and apples. What I feel: the urge to run away. Do you know those fragrances you don’t like but last a short time? This isn’t the case. It lasts a lifetime. It’s not for me. The bottle is very pretty, though.
Wonderful. From start to finish, a juicy passion fruit with woody touches. I love patchouli, but I don’t sense it as much as the musk, and yet, I adore the musk.
It’s a fruit bomb: passion fruit and green apple, citrusy at the start, then well sweet with a passion fruit that dominates. After an hour, the amber base and patchouli emerge, becoming creamy thanks to the musk. It’s sweet and fruity, cheerful and sparkling for the heat. I’d apply few sprays because it can become overpowering. It doesn’t quite convince me; the passion fruit is so present that I don’t feel the rest of the notes. I wouldn’t spend on another bottle; to have a reminder, I’d choose Natura’s passion fruit cologne. Honestly, it doesn’t even seem like a perfume to me.
With ‘Dahab’, which means gold, the fragrance should exude wealth and luxury. But to my nose, it doesn’t smell of opulence, but rather a mature fruit cocktail. For a niche perfume, it’s neither difficult nor challenging, nor much of a game changer. It’s fun, cheerful and playful, but a little basic. People define it as elegant, but I think differently: it smells like Fructis with steroids, like rich drugstore shampoo – nothing complex or distinguished. It has its moment, surely, but not for sophisticated events, rather for youthful and carefree occasions. Tropical apple and passion fruit with a decent fixative, but not memorable. The bottle is beautiful, but for the price and what it offers, I think it’s expensive.
Excellent. Croxatto Woman arrived for me; I bought it for my wife and it smells like a subtle inspiration of Dahab Kajal to my nose – very refined and sexy.
Dahab by Kajal: superb, rich, sweet, fruity and floral – exactly what I was looking for. It projects well, enveloping you and accompanying you without being loud or annoying. It was a blind buy and when it arrived, I loved it because it had everything I wanted. That said, to be honest, I imagined it to be stronger and more intense. It didn’t quite meet my expectations, but I can’t deny it’s lovely and I adore it. I’d give it 8/10; although it wasn’t as explosive, I still enjoy it immensely.
It starts with a very noticeable, refreshing, playful and sexy passion fruit. It evolves quite a bit until four hours in, when it dries down identical to Al Haramain’s Erba Pura and Amber Oud. It’s of good quality and very oriental, like its brand – summer in a bottle! However, the dry-down becomes very generic; we’ve all smelled that scent before and it doesn’t justify the price by becoming common. From this brand, I still bet more on Aican and Ruby, which I’m really keen to try.
It’s a lovely perfume. Passion fruit and apple embrace you fresh and discreetly before descending into woods and musk. It’s very wearable, with a nod to Kirke by Tiziana Terenzi, but sweeter and more feminine. The only thing that disappointed me was that the longevity and projection weren’t what I expected. Otherwise, its freshness leaves me feeling happy and energised for work with the right attitude.
