Descripción

Faris by Kajal is an olfactive fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2022, this composition was created by Urs Castelletti and David Chieze. The top notes unfold lavender, juniper berries, bergamot, lemon, apple and orange; the heart reveals jasmine, rose, clove, nutmeg and coriander; while the base notes settle on amber, vetiver, sandalwood, tonka bean and patchouli.

The resemblance to Sauvage Eau de Parfum is undeniable. However, Dior’s version has sparkling, ‘spicy’ nuances that never quite fade, whereas Faris boasts superior aromatic qualities, with more floral and creamy accords that make it better and more wearable. Top notes of citrus, lavender and apple emerge over a calm amber, rose and fine vetiver base. I like it, but it doesn’t drive me crazy enough to justify the price tag.

  • I wasn’t even aware of this brand; I thought it was another of the Arab houses making copies. It is simply delicious. If you like the vibe of SMW or Baie 19, those ozonic fragrances with berries and very clean scents, here they add Faris floral touches. It’s striking, easy to wear, and earns plenty of compliments, with high longevity and sillage.

  • An interesting proposal from this brand, distinct from their usual oriental fragrances. It’s a fougère with citrus, lavender, and tonka bean, bearing a certain air of Sauvage but without feeling dated; it smells current and pleasant for everyone. Long-lasting citrus, lavender and juniper providing freshness, followed by rose-jasmine and spices that merely accentuate without dominating. A base of sandalwood, tonka bean, and amber. From my nose, it’s a spring/summer, daytime scent due to its brightness, more masculine as it’s a fougère, yet anyone can wear it. Lasts a minimum of 8 hours with good projection that fades slowly to the skin. A good perfume with excellent performance, though it resembles many others.

Starts strong with a blend of lavender, apple, and juniper berries. Then it settles into a peculiar, pleasant, fresh scent with character and strength; very similar to Dior’s Sauvage.

  • For me, the original Sauvage is too intense; after a while, it just becomes overwhelming, which is why I never bought it, even though I tried several versions (the Elixir doesn’t count; I do own that and I absolutely love it). With this Faris, there’s no issue at all. It’s very well balanced despite sharing the same DNA. Excellent.
