Descripción

Sauvage Parfum by Dior is an oriental fougère fragrance for men. Launched in 2019, this olfactive composition was created by perfumer François Demachy. Its opening features bergamot, mandarin, and elemi, delivering a vibrant and citrusy start. The heart of the fragrance reveals the warmth and texture of sandalwood, while the base settles on a woody and sweet accord composed of olibanum incense, tonka bean, and vanilla.

  • That initial alcoholic and fresh impact gives the sensation that everything will end in a second, like a first kiss, but after a minute you begin to distinguish that sweet, oily amber. Very happy with my purchase.

  • Well, it’s super rich! Sweet without being cloying, although I love perfumes that are sweet enough to make me dizzy. But Sauvage isn’t like that. If you aren’t bothered by carrying a 200ml bottle in your bag, backpack, or briefcase, I’d say go for it. However, it weighs as much as a kilo between the bottle and the liquid. You can also carry it in a refillable mini atomiser of 5ml. Why? Because at best, with a lot of luck, it lasts about 3 hours in the height of summer and 1 to 2 hours in winter. So, if you like being a trail-leaver and leaving a scent in your wake, you won’t have problems (carrying the mini or the bottle) since reapplying renews the cycle. It’s worth noting that on the clothes you wear and wash, the scent will linger for days even after the wash. Is it synthetic? Truthfully, yes, a little bit. Is it worth the price? Honestly, no. My last purchase was in late 2021, straight from the Dior house with that fabulous packaging: a box with a white ribbon and their signature inside, impeccable and without complaints. But in the end, I think all fragrance addicts know that what interests us most is always inside the beautiful bottle; the contents are our great treasure. P.S.: Despite having stored it for nearly 8 months, the performance only results in about 30-40 minutes more of trail, because right up against the skin it will always be there and very faithful. Tip: if you want any fragrance to last longer, project better, and have a better trail? Simply apply a light, non-greasy moisturising cream. The most important thing is that it has no scent or fragrance, and you’ll achieve better fixation, duration, and trail without adulterating the smell. If you have aftershave of the same fragrance, use it, and if you have a moisturising lotion, use that too for better performance. If the stars and the Universe favour you and you have the shower gel, hallelujah! because you’ll ensure the duration is prolonged. Have a good life, lovely people, enjoy yourselves.

It is one of the few best-made perfumes in history, an absolute marvel. I don’t know how to explain it, but being so popular, many already know it, and it is an imposing scent. Every man should own one. Performance? Top-notch; it projects calmly for 2, or even 3 hours, and lasts about 12-13 hours. If you spray it on your clothes, the scent sticks for WEEKS; I have garments I sprayed a month ago that still smell like Sauvage as if I’d applied it yesterday. The performance is tremendous.

  • My brother was gifted this perfume, and I try it out occasionally. The best thing is its longevity; it lasts a very long time, and the projection for a Parfum isn’t bad at all. The downside is that it smells quite synthetic. It doesn’t smell bad, in fact, it smells good, but paying what it costs for such a synthetic scent… This version feels more wearable than the others. I wouldn’t use it in summer; it would feel too heavy. I recommend it, but I’d first try the other Sauvage versions and decide which one to choose.

I’m disappointed by the trail; it’s incredibly weak and you have to press your nose against your wrist to detect it, even after spraying many times. It reminds me of Sauvage EDT but is less potent. While I like its scent a bit more, it doesn’t quite convince me. What I notice most on the skin is a creamy sandalwood, nothing dry. I wouldn’t recommend it due to its poor longevity and projection; I’d rather go for the Elixir, which is truly a magnificent fragrance.

  • It contains less ambroxan than the EDT, making it ideal for cold weather or evening wear, as it lacks the lavender punch of the EDP. It is easy for the average nose, without the spicy power of the Elixir. Perfect for those over 30. The Sauvage line is among the best ever created in designer perfumes throughout history.

  • I will be brief: the opening is good, but the performance does not justify the price. Sincerely, there is a note after the first hour that smells like makeup, as if the perfume is being worn on top of it. The longevity is short; I prefer the Elixir much more, and I am sure the EDT is better (in my opinion, it does not convince me, although others may like it). 3.7/10.

  • The scent simply doesn’t suit me; it is far too strong. The reason I will never buy it is that it caused an allergic reaction on my skin.

  • The Parfum version of Sauvage retains some of the originality of the EDT but with a sweeter, warmer twist. The opening is divided: the bergamot and orange provide a citrusy freshness, while the vanilla and tonka bean add sweetness. Over time, the citrus fades and the fragrance feels dry and slightly woody due to a milky-scented sandalwood, which, combined with the tonka bean, makes it creamy. Ambroxan also appears (though undeclared), making it similar to the EDT. After hours, it remains warm, woody, and slightly sweet; vanilla, tonka bean, and sandalwood dominate, although the citrus notes are still noticeable. It is pleasant, blending generic aromas from the EDT with a common vanilla accord, resulting in something that sounds familiar yet distinct at times. Longevity is good (8–10 hours), but the projection is weak after half an hour unless you apply a lot; in my opinion, it is more intimate than the original.

Almost no men’s perfume has ever captivated me quite like this; it needs that special something, that indefinable quality that makes you think, ‘This is the one!’. This treasure did exactly that: it is a shout of beauty, class, and exquisite elegance. My goodness, the mandarin and bergamot deliver a light, sparkling freshness that yields to the woody sweetness of sandalwood, incense, and tonka bean, finishing with a delicious creamy, musky vanilla. It reminds me of Moschino’s Toy Boy style and leaves an air reminiscent of Halston 1-12. I have loved it; it seems like a superb work of art. In the end, it leaves a lingering trace of Herrera For Men.

A perfume I don’t get along with, and naturally I’m referring to the scent it leaves after the initial wonder. On my skin, it turns into a rancid smell, totally removed from its top notes, and it becomes annoying.

  • diegoford10

This perfume was a graduation gift from my aunt; I barely understood why at 25. It’s been the one that has received the most compliments from women; it smells very masculine, like a clean blue fragrance but with a mysterious and nocturnal vibe… for some that’s smelling old, but not at all, perhaps their noses are used to caramelised scents.

If you really like the aroma of the original Dior Sauvage, the good one created by genius François Demachy, go for the EDP if you’ve finished the old EDT. Warning, the latest batches of the EDT are rubbish. As for this Parfum, unfortunately, they’ve removed the explosive note of sweet, ultra-ambroxated lavender pepper from the original and shoved in sandalwood and sandalwood to make it more mature and nocturnal. In my opinion, although it smells good and reminds you of your mum’s EDT and your dad’s EDP, it’s different and they’ve messed it up. It has no spark, offers nothing new or attractive for a Sauvage fan, it’s boring, it smells like grandma to me, and it costs a fortune. To make matters worse, right after introducing this Parfum, they released a little brother, the Elixir, which is a bomb and doesn’t cost much more. In short, they’ve just killed the hype and market share for this Parfum, which, while not bad, has passed without fuss or glory. Only for die-hard fans of the range, completionist collectors, or posh reviewers eager to burn cash.

A blind purchase I made a few years ago, with a very good aroma. Low projection but good longevity on the skin. What stands out most is how versatile it is, suitable for both mild days and the night.

  • nicosouki

I was disappointed at first spritz… I expected more; it didn’t smell as rich as I thought. After a few months, I learned to like it; it’s something different and comes in handy for the collection. It lasts and projects well. I feel it smells expensive, but I’m not sure if it’s the scent or the price, haha. Would I recommend buying it? No idea, master.

  • Many criticise this fragrance, but I liked it. Although it’s different from the rest of the Sauvage line, it keeps its distinctive essence, something typical of a flanker. Perhaps the projection isn’t as intense, but it leaves a more intimate trail without being too noticeable. I consider it quite versatile; it can be worn without issues in the office, for an informal evening out, or even on a date.

  • For me, the best in the range. The battle with the Elixir is tough, as I see it better for going out at night, while the EDT is the most relaxed of all. The EDP loses the citrus-marine freshness of the original and the elegance of the Parfum; it’s rich but ends up in no-man’s-land, and in my opinion, it’s too much. In contrast, this is what the second release should have been: like the original but with more weight, maturity, and elegant character. It doesn’t lose that marine sparkle, everyone likes it, and it stands out enough not to be confused with the original or its knock-offs. It’s oiled, so longevity isn’t an issue; it easily lasts over 10 hours. Projection is moderate, but being a high concentration, it leaves a good trail and acts more like a personal bubble. I love it.

  • Why do people criticise this perfume? It’s easy to explain. Back in the day, Sauvage was a sensation and one of the best-selling scents worldwide, but I’m surprised Dior hasn’t launched anything new that moves away from that DNA. I admit it doesn’t fail today, but there are better options. It’s a smell found everywhere and it’s already getting tiring. It’s good, but there are better alternatives because in 2024 it’s very present and overused, and being an expensive luxury brand, it’s not the best choice right now.

  • It’s a super elegant and classy fragrance that will get you lots of compliments. If you’re over 25, it’s a total hit; sometimes it can be a bit too strong for younger people due to that citrus-wood blend. Plus, it has an incredible trail that generates admiration and works for both formal and informal events.

What a delight! It’s totally the DNA of the classic Sauvage EDT with lots of citrus fruits and that very present, fresh and slightly metallic lavender. Then it’s accompanied by a creamy note with a sweet touch of sandalwood, totally usable day and night, adding elegance and distinction. Finally, a little touch of vanilla well combined with the Tonka gives versatility. I applied it at 4am and it’s 2pm now and it’s stuck to my neck; let alone my shirt, which got some on the collar and will last a couple of days. Its scent is delicious and versatile, day and night, any weather, but in extreme heat I think I could be a bit overpowering. I give it 9.5/10.

  • Carlo Mendez

Delightful perfume, my favourite in the line alongside the Elixir; it’s a denser, night-time and sexy version of the Sauvage DNA which already smells good; here it smells even better. Lasts quite well, with many compliments. Many will say it’s overdone and blah blah, but realistically, two out of ten, or less, wear perfume, believe me, you’ll smell very good and it’s worth it for me. Scent: 9/10, Longevity: 8/10, Projection: 7/10, Price: I got it for 2800mxn, about $140. Recommended.

  • EstebanEDP

The scent is very good, that’s true, but in my case the performance is very poor; it doesn’t last on skin or clothes, and the projection is non-existent. And it is 100% original.

  • To be honest, I regret spending money on this (it costs $220 in my country). It smells of talcum powder and nothing else. Lasts terribly on skin, about 3 hours, with very poor projection. That said, on clothes it’s a different story: the shirt I wear goes from dirty to perfumed, and when I take it off five days later, that scent floods my room and remains even after washing. That’s why I say it’s very strange.

  • The perfume never fails and anyone foolish enough to buy the knock-off should get the original from Dior instead of AliExpress. That said this is what set me on fire in the fragrance world. Everyone loves it and it leaves no one indifferent. Is it overused? Well yes just like many others. The longevity has been reduced as has everything from Dior since the pandemic. It lasts its usual eight hours without stopping to leave a trail. It creates olfactory fatigue and lasts days on clothes.

  • A very good flanker very special. I detect its aroma ultra-strong like wet but fresh wood a forest with a marine touch with the bergamot at its peak: intense slightly sour and bitter yet juicy. My interpretation is somewhat dark green woody citrusy and resinous. Very wild very niche very original but with poor longevity and excellent projection. Personally I notice the looks of those who smell it; it draws a lot of attention. I own the EDT tried the Eau de Parfum the FORTE and the Elixir and I believe it is my favourite scent alongside Dior Homme Intense. If you’re looking for something fresh and luminous go for the original EDT with its bright pepper and super-vanillaised with Ambroxan. If you want something youthful and sweet buy the Eau de Parfum. If you want something serious classic and original choose the Parfum. And if you like spices and strong masculine notes the Elixir is for you. I do not recommend the Eau de Parfum at all; it projects nothing and stays close to the skin perhaps because I tested it without alcohol. But its dry-down is excellent and its opening is very similar to the Parfum.

  • Toño Dark

Oh dear. Damn reformulations! Very rich, masculine. But these filthy people at Dior have already tampered with it. Lasts, at best, four to five hours. And let’s not talk about projection. What a disappointment.

  • xavi40rios

Words cannot describe this Dior work of art a true olfactory beauty. My ex showered me with compliments in my third and fourth year of high school; if I could go back to that time I wouldn’t hesitate. It smells intensely of vanilla just like her hair; every time I catch a whiff I remember her. The longevity is excellent lasting over 12 hours on skin; without a doubt the best version. Frida if you see this I miss you so much unfollow me on Instagram and leave your man he doesn’t love you as much as I do.

Dior Sauvage Parfum is to Sauvage EdT what Bleu EdP is to Bleu de Chanel EdT: a more elegant and sensual version. Here, the citrus and ambroxan are more restrained, giving way to a tonal, smokier character for a better balance. The differences are subtle but they are there. I like it. I haven’t tried the EDP yet, but for now this version appeals to me more than the Toilette, which feels more intrusive and cloying. Of course, it’s a matter of taste. That said, the sample I used had a light projection for 1 hour before settling to skin scent. After three hours, it’s barely detectable unless you bring your nose close. A Parfum should do better, especially at this price point. Curiously, it resembles Bleu de Chanel Parfum, which also has poor longevity on my skin.

Greetings. I have the 2023 batch of 100ml purchased from Dior. It is the softest of the three. The opening features mandarin with a very subtle bergamot, and importantly, it lacks that peppery sting found in the EDT and EDP. It also contains no Ambroxan, so the blend of elemi, sandalwood, and vanilla creates a super powdery scent from the heart through to the dry-down. The woods do not dominate here. It lacks that crisp, clean, masculine freshness of the EDT and, above all, the EDP; it becomes cleaner, akin to ‘Prada L’homme’ (bearing in mind the differences, of course), as that level of powderiness can make you think of iris (which it doesn’t have). Do women like it? Yes, enormously, because they smell clean and innocent… Why? Because it smells like baby powder, and it is very apt. The longevity is good and it is notably oily (Parfum). On skin, it lasts 8 hours without extreme heat; on clothes, two days. Projection is moderate, but if you move, you leave an unstoppable trail. My favourite remains the EDP, the crown jewel. Do not buy on eBay or Amazon; there are many fakes.

  • A true masterpiece. An exquisite, elegant, and masculine aroma. The performance isn’t ‘beast mode’ but it stands its ground with dignity. It’s a mature perfume with incense touches, ideal for suit and tie, though it also looks good in a casual style.

  • I love it; I’d buy it again without doubt. In my opinion, it’s the second best in the line, just behind the Elixir Nº 1.

  • DiegoSupertramposo

It’s a masculine, mature, versatile, and elegant perfume used all year round where I live (below 25 degrees), lasting more than 10 hours on skin and even days on clothes. It doesn’t bother anyone and is liked by everyone nearby; in fact, it’s one of my girlfriend’s favourites. It’s citrusy, woody, talc-like, with incense and vanilla in the dry-down. Although it doesn’t declare pepper, I can smell it. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind if you’re under 30, as current trends point towards sweeter and vanilla scents like those from Jean Paul Gaultier, which are good if you’re looking for that. Cheers!

  • A more mature version of the original Sauvage. I’m just starting with perfumes and this was one of the most impressive. It has the wild air of the original but is more mature, warm, and ambered. It reminds me of an outdoor night, with smoke and sweetness at the end. It lasts well, projects just enough, and is elegant without losing its edge, perfect for feeling secure without overcomplicating things.

  • I bought my second bottle a couple of years ago when it cost around 200 USD for 100ml. Today I admit it seems a bit boring to me; it lost the charm of 2020 because its DNA is very massified. It’s not bad quality (lasts hours, 2021 batch), but it’s no longer novel. With 160 fragrances in my collection, I’d use it at most three times a year and, to be honest, it didn’t excite me. PS: I enjoy it more when I smell it on someone else.

  • It opens clearly citrusy, then woody and very sweet notes emerge, even with floral nuances. It’s a good perfume with solid performance, although the scent isn’t original and is too common on the street. I feel there are better citrus options at a lower price and others better within its range, but it remains a good aroma that never offends.

  • It’s a classic that seems invisible at first, but after letting it breathe for a few weeks, it explodes with an attractive presence lasting 6-8 hours and projecting just over a metre. Although in 2026 I feel it’s becoming quite saturated and there are cheaper Dior options that innovate more, it remains valid for winter, spring, and autumn. In summer, only for evening wear or if it’s not too hot.

  • My opinion changed after using it extensively. Although reviewers say otherwise, the dry-down has a vibe very close to the original Sauvage, without being a mere side note. As it fades, the citrus leaves that typical fresh EDT feel but with a mature and refined style. It’s like mixing the masculinity of the EDT with the elegance of La Nuit.

  • Gonzaparfums

My go-to fragrance. I love that effeminate blend with exquisite vanilla and a fresh touch; it’s a beauty for parties or special moments. The longevity and projection are good, with a moderate trail that beats the average perfume. Recommended for all ages and temperate climates.
