I love it, but it doesn’t match the advertising that paints it as sumptuous and ultra-luxurious, old Hollywood style. It’s not particularly unique; it’s just a rich white floral. I’ve finished the bottle but didn’t quite connect with it. It’s suitable for gifting without hesitation or for starting a collection of classics.
What more is there to say when everyone has already said it? It’s feminine, exquisite and elegant – pure luxury and sensuality in a bottle. From the bottle itself to what it leaves on your skin, it’s dangerously sexy. An intoxicating, utterly addictive scent. Superior quality, as we’ve come to expect from Dior.
It was a very special gift; in the small size it has presence and elegance. It suits any occasion and isn’t a strong essence. If I’d bought the full size, I still have it for emotional reasons – I don’t want it to run out. I see it more for special events or for work when you need to make an impression on many people. It adds a feminine touch with an imperceptible presence.
Floral, clean and very elegant, it’s complex which is why some people don’t like it entirely. My grandmother was given it, she passed it to my mother, and she to me; I wouldn’t have given it a chance, but at the first sniff I fell in love. Although they say it’s spring-like, I find it more of a winter scent, very versatile. It’s the one that compliments me the most, and for important events I don’t hesitate to choose it. It lasts all day on my skin and more. I love it; it’s my secret weapon for important occasions 💗💗
Smells clean and elegant, perfect for work meetings or when you need to command attention. A complex scent, not at all sweet; on me, the jasmine and musk come through more. It’s a perfume you learn to appreciate over time; you have to give it a chance.
I bought it just once, and they told me it smells like freshly cut grass.
J’adore is an explosion of floral and fruity notes which, in my opinion, sometimes clash. It’s sweet, but I don’t perceive it as harmonious, and it ends up giving me a headache. I prefer simpler fragrances with fewer, better-defined notes. For those who enjoy something complex or with a vintage vibe, it might be an option… but not for me.
J’adore causes me tremendous cognitive dissonance. Its advertising never represented what it evokes in my mind. I don’t consider it sensual, sexy, sophisticated, baroque, luxurious or golden. To me, it’s white, a potent white floral, luminous due to the fruitiness, somewhat aquatic like the scent after a bubble bath with cream. Pleasant, cool and sweet, but a little bland. It has the potential to please everyone, making it an all-rounder with the disadvantage of having a blurred personality. It’s for smelling good, nothing more; it smells very well but transmits nothing particular, a white juice, harmless and imposing. I perceive mostly melon, peach and a giant bouquet of white flowers, without subtlety. I’m surprised that a medium fragrance became the house’s flagship, yet it remains after nearly thirty years, a classic. This review is from a 2001 bottle, watch out! The current one is the result of several, not particularly fortunate, reformulations. Nevertheless, it’s preferable to the monstrosities of the current Miss Dior line, though it doesn’t even reach Miss Dior’s shoelaces compared to Dolce Vita. And undoubtedly, J’adore will always be an excellent choice against the tide of mediocre gourmands and bulk sweets that reign now.
If anyone is thinking of buying it blind… 100% don’t hesitate!!! It smells fabulous; it’s such an easy scent to wear that it’s very unlikely to offend anyone. It smells CLEAN, as if you’ve just stepped out of a relaxing bath and applied your favourite moisturising cream. I wouldn’t consider it for formal occasions or winter, as it’s not overwhelming or suffocating. To me, it seems very subtle, yet it has a presence that will definitely earn you a compliment.
It is my signature fragrance. It’s hard to find another that comes even a little close. It doesn’t go unnoticed nor does it invade like some Arabic scents. It evolves gently; you never find something totally different from the moment it’s sprayed until it dries, and it has extremely high coherence, lasting no less than six hours, and whoever smells it likes it. A fan; a rare jewel in the age of dessert-scented perfumes.
A chic, elegant, and refined scent with a pure floral heart, perfect for formal occasions. I find it suits autumn and winter better, day or night; on my skin it projects strongly, so I save it for the colder months, as it feels a bit heavy for summer. If you’re buying blind among white florals, it’s a safe bet, although I don’t detect many fruity notes; here, the musk and cedar dominate the base.
I tried it in a decant and was utterly fascinated. It’s super feminine and sophisticated, subtle enough to suit anyone, and I absolutely love it.
It’s an aroma that rarely goes wrong. It’s for everyday wear, very elegant. Contrary to what others say, I smell it as vanilla-forward; the base is very noticeable.
To me, it’s timeless, floral, and sweet. I wore it at 9am today and it lasted until 3pm; I’m not great at identifying exact notes, but it held up well. I only needed to reapply once with the sun, and on a rainy breeze it felt even sweeter.
I was gifted this perfume because I’d always bought the dupe, and I must say, it’s perfect. I’ve tried many, but this is my favourite; it’s truly delicious. It literally works for day or night.
It’s delicious, truly. Anyone wearing it will look good in it; you can buy it blind or gift it without fear of failure. It’s rich and well-designed. I’d say around 90% of women would accept it.
I found a sample and tried it for the first time. Although my mother doesn’t wear it regularly, it smells to me like what I imagine a mother would wear. If I stop to smell it, it’s a bit intense and gives me a headache. It smells ‘classic’. I showed it to my boyfriend, and on my skin, he said he didn’t like it much, that it smelled like a cologne (in the bad sense), and that it lacked charisma, giving it a 5.5.
A very intense classic where a watery pear sits among jasmine; it could be the signature scent for many. For me, it transports me to the Bonfire of the Vanities, when freesia blooms among the rocks in spring. The bottle isn’t of the best quality as the gold fades over time. I receive compliments, although it’s not for the office as it’s a ‘beast’, but it looks very smart for formal occasions. It’s not a new discovery; I’ve had it since my teenage years.
I’m not usually a fan of floral or feminine perfumes, but wow, truly, this fragrance is something else; I would buy it.
I didn’t like it; I didn’t even get halfway through the bottle and gave it away. It gave me a headache, it’s very intense, and definitely not my notes.
It conveys elegance and a determined, independent woman; a citrus and floral blend that sounds good, but there’s a bitter note I can’t stand. I’ve reviewed the notes countless times and can’t isolate it; it gives me a headache. It might be the plum or that it doesn’t soften enough. It lacks a touch of sweetness, something vital for me to wear perfumes. It’s too sharp for me.
A beautiful fragrance, but it lasts a tiny amount and leaves no trail. I bought it for the jasmine, truth be told, but I wouldn’t buy it again. I expected much more from J’adore.
It’s a decent fragrance, nothing more… no trail, no overpowering, no personality, no one noticing you’re wearing it… not much interest, truth be told.
It’s a great pear bathed in a little magnolia and loads of sweetened neroli, softened by vanilla. Although neroli can sometimes weigh me down in florals, here they feel creamy thanks to the pear. I use it for sleeping because, although it’s soft, its trail is potent and feels soapy, as if freshly lathered. It’s not a bad fragrance, not my type, but those who like floral scents will love it.
It’s a pity that the golden age of Dior and its best-selling perfume seems to have ended. I’ll miss you, J’adore, and your ambassador, Charlize Theron. I’ll surely find a substitute for my collection. When you leave the madness with darkness, perhaps I can return to Dior.
Too floral for my taste 🙁
Dior J’adore Eau de Parfum, a floral, subtle and feminine fragrance. I don’t feel much jasmine as I’d like, but rather a blend of clean white flowers with a slightly musky composition without becoming soapy. No vanilla or cedar on my skin. At the counter, I felt the melon note more marked, but I don’t perceive it on my skin. That’s why it’s almost disappointing; being expensive and from a brand I adore, being simple and a bit weak doesn’t please me. Performance is ‘medium’, not without effort, lasting about five hours and projection is skin-hugging. It does resemble others, yes. It reminded me of the discontinued Viva la Vita and Avon Forever, and Natura’s Biography Inspire, which offer almost the same performance for four or five times less cost, which increased my confusion. The presentation is lovely and elegant, but I’m not crazy about it. Who will like it: those who prefer aquatic floral perfumes with a greenish feel, close to going unnoticed.
Super fresh and wearable, ideal for hot weather or going to the beach. I bought a decant, but I won’t get the full bottle as I prefer something sweeter with more projection.
It’s a Dior… hard to go wrong… it’s elegant, sumptuous, sensual… it’s the one for which many men ask what perfume you’re wearing.
An elegant white-fruity floral I just discovered and bought. It’s a pity it’s so evanescent on me; I perceive it for a maximum of three hours and bye. It’s not worth it for such a beautiful scent to last so little; I won’t buy it again.
