Descripción
Intoxicated by Kilian is a spicy oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2014, this composition was created by perfumer Calice Becker. The top notes unfold with cardamom, coffee, bergamot and aldehydes; the heart reveals a blend of nutmeg, cinnamon, tobacco, ginger and geranium; while the base notes complete the structure with caramel, mocha, vanilla, balsam fir, patchouli, coumarin, sugar and marshmallow.

Intoxicated is an excellent piece from Kilian, perfect for winter. Its vaporous, smoky halo wraps around you like a warm coat. It opens as a blend between Dior Homme and Mugler’s A*Men, yet remains distinct. It possesses substance and quality to stand alone. Wait for the spectacular dry-down: it smells of hot drinks, spiced coffee that blends into chocolate. The smoky-sweet character lasts and projects phenomenally. It is more complex than it appears, taking time to develop, but it is worth it. Unique and highly addictive.

A hyper-soapy A*Men and a total rip-off. Buyers would be better off getting an older A*Men (no need for vintage) and having something much better for $200 less.
Another great Kilian, the most intense and potent I’ve tried today. Although I’d rank it mid-range according to my tastes, it has good quality and performance. Less original than Black Phantom, Gold Knight, and Moonlight. I recommend it to gourmand lovers who want presence, perfect for night parties.

It’s like a niche version of A*Men by TM, but more direct, linear, and sensual. Without patchouli, it highlights the cinnamon and coffee; it smells very natural. Balanced, it’s neither too deep nor fresh, with two phases: green-sweet followed by powdery. Lasts half a day with normal projection. The most unisex and sensual from the house, a blind buy. Ideal for romantic nights out. Very happy with my Intoxicated by Kilian.
I was instantly hooked on this perfume from a decant; it smells divine, makes you feel different and fantastic, which is why I bought the bottle. The only flaw: the price, which is absolutely insane.
I fell for this perfume from a decant at first sniff; it smells rich, makes you feel different and wonderful, which is why I bought the bottle. The only flaw: the price, which is insane.
What a head-banger when I first tried this perfume, and that was at the end of summer when it was hot. This coffee and spice wonder is undoubtedly one of the best perfumes I have ever tried and has introduced me for the first time to the concept of an addictive perfume that you cannot stop smelling. Turkish coffee and cardamom from start to finish, finished with cinnamon and nutmeg. A warm bomb for the cold because there are few things more enveloping than this. I insist, addictive, for night, for conquests, for calling attention and making people come closer to smell you… A crazy sexy thing. More masculine than unisex, although I smell this on a woman and I do not know what would happen. Moderate projection, on my skin a minimum of 6-8 hours, quite linear but intense and vibrant from start to finish. The price… Well, the Kilian price, which in this case made me hesitate to pay. My undisputed number one for night outings in autumn and winter. 100×100 of rogue addiction.
What a head-turner when first trying it, even though it was warm. This coffee and spice wonder is one of the best perfumes I have ever tried and taught me the meaning of olfactory addiction. Turkish coffee and cardamomo from start to finish, finished with cinnamon and nutmeg. It is a warm bomb for the cold, enveloping. I insist, it is addictive: for night, for conquests, for drawing attention. More masculine than unisex, though I have smelled it on a woman. Moderate sillage, 6-8 hours, linear but intense. The price is the usual Kilian cost; I hesitated to pay. My undisputed number one for autumn and winter nights. 100×100 of wild addiction.
Today I had the blessing of being able to smell this at one of the very few physical niche perfume shops in my city. My god, what a beauty; it gave me a rush as if I had taken drugs. It vaguely reminded me of the scent of oranges bathed in chocolate, although theoretically it recreates a cup of Turkish coffee with spices. Yes or yes, I will buy it next month! I LOVE IT. Top notes: Citrus. Heart notes: Cardamom, cinnamon, coffee, other spices. Dry down: Powdery. Masculine. 10/10.
Kilian offers proposals that are almost always sweet, grandiose, aromatic and dense. The resemblance to Mugler’s A*Men is definitely notable, as other comments mention, but less strident in the top notes (which you had to hold back, including me) and with quite superior quality. The cardamom note fascinates me, especially in cold seasons; however, in Intoxicated, the spices are tamed quite a bit thanks to the abundant doses of caramel and coffee (or, according to the index, mocha). The result is an incredibly sweet and slightly spiced caramel coffee that smells divinely. Much later, the fragrance basically smells the same as at the beginning, only with differences in terms of individual note intensities. The main difference between the two phases is that the fragrance smells much softer and more pleasant at the end than at the beginning, as it becomes more powdery in the base. In conclusion, we have an improved A*Men for people with money, definitely suitable for boys and girls who love the disco, perfect for nocturnal stalking or an occasional date. Dear Kilian, you make truly great fragrances that are the perfect image between elegance and absolute luxury, but not everyone is an heir, unfortunately.
This toxic scent always caught my attention thanks to comparisons with one of the most divisive works of art in perfumery: A-Men by Mugler. Does it resemble it? Well, no and yes… I will try to explain this as best I can, starting from the top down with the top notes etc. (I am flabbergasted by people who say it is linear; I wonder what they have tried…). Top notes: Cardamom (bigger than a Zeppelin), but this one is tender and leans towards the citrus side. Not only that, but why are its top notes powdery, slightly creamy and sweet, mixed with something that could recall nuances found only in Dior Homme Intense? Perhaps there is an undeclared iris alongside our cardamom… but that powdery quality does not last long in the top notes. This combo of spices, citrus, and powdery creams fades away to let the baton to the conductor of the whole show, our friend cardamom. Heart notes ❤️: Cardamom remains the leader… but yields ground to a soapy sweetness (and here, or a little later, is where it can be compared to A-Men, with many ‘buts’… one of them being that different nuances are noticeable, such as nutmeg and cinnamon, but it maintains the clean, sweet lactonic sweetness that could recall Mugler’s fragrance as it dries down. Intoxicated has some balsams that could remind one of the most cherished oils in an exotic shop beginning to emerge in the composition. But we will speak of them later. Regarding the coffee note in this phase, anyone looking for something realistic will be disappointed because it is so integrated that it would be more like a cappuccino with a bit of cocoa. Base notes: Let us not forget our friend cardamom, now tired, beginning to yield the spotlight to the last timid notes of nutmeg and many other spices and ingredients I do not see declared, such as a balsam as I mentioned before, perhaps Tolu or Peru balsam; these are more noticeable in the final phase of the perfume, resting over some vanilla, mixing very well with that character that we just love about A-Men. The conclusion is that it is a changing perfume to my nose, with spices entering and exiting during the drying process in a magical way. Mugler is more beastly and stoic, and that is how it should be. Kilian proposes a drier phase that is more oriental, exotic and gentle, and between these two perfumes one could say they are distant relatives of different ages, and yet the genetic link between them is notable. Regarding longevity and sillage… Explosion at the beginning, then moderate character after an hour and a half.
A huge disappointment as a perfume. It is nowhere near niche quality; it is exactly identical to Mugler’s A*Men, yet with poorer performance and lower aromatic quality. It is completely flat, with no evolution whatsoever, and the performance is quite poor compared to Mugler’s beast mode. If you are going to blatantly plagiarise a perfume and charge $200 more for it, improve it in at least one way, or it borders on a scam. I have liked many from this brand, but this one feels like a poorly executed rip-off. I do not usually delete my reviews, so I will edit this one below: I let my emotions get the better of me and was too impulsive. While it still feels like a rip-off of A*Men and is frustrating, prolonged use shows its aromatic quality is better; it has the part I like most from Mugler but accentuated, with the lavender vintage note slightly toned down. I cannot be hypocritical and say I dislike it; the scent is truly exquisite.
Total disappointment. It doesn’t even scratch the quality of a niche fragrance; it’s identical to Mugler’s A*Men but with inferior performance and scent. It’s flat, lacks evolution, and its longevity is very poor compared to Mugler’s beast mode. If you’re going to blatantly copy and charge $200 more, at least improve it, or it’s a rip-off. I like other scents from the brand, but this smells like a bad plagiarism. I don’t delete reviews, so I’m editing this: I was very impulsive. I still see it as plagiarism and it frustrates me, but with prolonged use I notice the scent is better; it has what I liked most about Mugler but more accentuated, and the vintage lavender note is toned down. I can’t be hypocritical; the smell is truly exquisite.
In the dry down, this Intoxicated brings a similar itching sensation to Sauvage Elixir; I am not sure what could be causing it.
How much hype surrounds this fragrance… I simply don’t like it 🤷🏻! I have a 10ml decant that I spray whenever I hear people rave about it, trying to give it another chance at an aroma that has never managed to win me over. For me, who loves blurring the thin line between unisex, this composition is masculine. It opens fresh with a diluted sweet tobacco note, accompanied by a slightly dirty, slightly animalic green-bitter note. It dries down very sweet, a sweetness that is not gourmand and which I find irritating. It is not the worst composition I have smelled; I understand that this dirty-sweet tobacco with a Chypre air wins many fans, but it is not for me. I would not gift it and would not wish to smell it often on someone close to me.
Smells incredible; it features a frankincense note (in my opinion), alongside coffee and cardamom. It is certainly a masculine fragrance, or perhaps one for a very conservative woman. However, it is not to everyone’s taste. If asked, I would say it is one of Killian’s best, alongside Angels Share, whose Parfum Paradis is also recommended, as well as Sacred Wood and Dark Lord.
It smells like an old millionaire. Sexy if you have unresolved daddy issues.
I approached the Kilian stand like someone indulging in a treat they know they won’t pay for. I tried it without much hope, and the name does it justice: it has something hypnotic and dark, like an espresso in a cognac glass. The opening is everything A*Men was not: warm without being sticky, spicy without being harsh, spiced without resembling cheap tea. There is classy cardamomo, toasty sugar that isn’t cloying, and an echo of freshly ground coffee that smells of temptation, not a kitchen. No tar or radioactive mint. It is rounder, softer, and subtler. Mugler with the diction of a private school. As it evolves, it becomes drier, earthier, and less dessert-like, more like a shared drink with someone destined to ruin your life. Simple notes: dark coffee, cardamomo, nutmeg, and cinnamon. It smells like sniffing a steaming cup in the dead of night with a mind in ruins. Is it worth the cost? No. But almost no Kilian fragrance is. You pay for the drama, the bottle, and the false sense of decadence.
I approached the Kilian stand like someone indulging in a luxury they know they won’t pay for, with that brazen confidence of walking into a high-end store just to ‘take a look’. I tried it without much hope. And to be honest… the name does it justice. It has something hypnotic, dark, like an espresso served in a cognac glass. The opening is everything A*Men wasn’t back in its day: warm without being sticky, spicy without being abrasive, spiced without smelling like the bottom of a tea box. Here, there is cardamomo in abundance and with class, a toasted sugar that doesn’t cloy, and an echo of freshly ground coffee that smells of temptation rather than a bar kitchen. There is no tar, no radioactive mint, no that initial punch A*Men threw without asking. This is rounder, softer, more subtle. It’s Mugler with the diction of a private school and a tailored suit. As it develops, Intoxicated becomes drier, more earthy, less dessert liqueur and more a shared glass with someone who will ruin your life without you caring. The notes remain relatively simple: dark coffee, cardamomo, nutmeg, a pinch of cinnamon. The ingredients of the obsessive pleasure of smelling a steaming cup in the dead of night, with your mind in ruins. Is it worth the price? Well, no. But almost no Kilian perfume is. You pay for the drama, the bottle, and the false sense that you’re partaking in something more decadent than it actually is.
