Descripción

Smoking Hot by Kilian is a spicy oriental fragrance designed for men and women. Launched in 2023, this composition is signed by perfumer Mathieu Nardin. The top notes of apple, smoke, and cinnamon deliver a vibrant and evocative opening. The heart reveals a combination of tobacco, vanilla, and moss that adds warmth and depth. Finally, the base settles with bourbon vanilla, licorice, Orcanox™, Iso E Super, and tarragon, closing the olfactory experience with lasting sophistication.

  • A very dense and potent cinnamon dessert scent. Truly worthy of Kilian and perfect for gourmand lovers.

  • Potent, it smells of dry tobacco and smoke. It reminds me of black licorice with a hint of cinnamon and gives shisha vibes. It’s a bomb; I’ve loved it, although it’s not really my style.

What a lovely scent, isn’t it? That was my first reaction. Literally, a glowing ember from an Arabic shisha came to mind, slowly burning a semi-sweet blend of cinnamon and apple. It evokes stepping into a tea house, ordering cinnamon tea, taking a drag from a freshly lit shisha, and exhaling white smoke that fills your space. I adore it and am a huge fan of Angel Share, but these are two distinct fragrances; to my nose, they share no similarities. Smoking Hot doesn’t stop there; it evolves and picks up an undeclared note of black licorice, which gives it that particular feel. Thinking autumn and winter is thinking Kilian; I believe this is one of the best launches of 2023. I’ve already bought the bottle: it’s a proper bomb for lovers of smoky, tobacco, and autumnal scents. I’m sorry, Althair, but this beats you by a mile. For me, it’s a 9/10. Alongside Angel Share, they’ve become my favourites from the entire brand. Well done, yes sir, more releases of this quality, please.

  • It has presence, but it’s not for me. Still, I find it intriguing and slightly boozy: an atypical gourmand with a beautifully rendered smoke. I’m baffled by a note I’ve sensed in another fragrance: Play-Doh. It’s not obvious, but it’s the little extra. That slick, strange evolution of plasticine and old crafts passed through smoke, cinnamon, and fresh tobacco. A madman’s mix? Yes, but it works.

  • Pleasantly surprised. As I’ve read elsewhere, it literally smells like shisha. I wouldn’t wear it myself, but it seems very original.

  • It’s a men’s perfume for autumn or winter that smells like shisha, as many say. The first time I smelled it, it reminded me of bitter licorice due to that subtle vanilla sweetness. Personally, I’d wear it, but it’s not for everyone. I’d give it an 8.5.

  • Kilian’s proposal is very interesting: a sweet and spicy opening that turns smoky. Fortunately for my wallet, I didn’t fall completely in love with it. I tried a sample, and perhaps that’s why I didn’t notice much sillage, although it lasted over six hours very close to the skin. It’s a very well-crafted scent, ideal for cold climates and evenings, with a slightly more masculine touch, though any woman can wear it. In terms of scent and longevity, I’d stick with Dior’s Tobacolor.

  • The first time I sprayed it, I liked it; the second time I sprayed it, I loved it; and the third time I tried it on my skin, I fell in love and knew I’d be coming home for it. After a few tests, I’ll share my impressions: An aroma that in its opening aims to evoke apple hookah tobacco. I don’t know that specific type of tobacco, so I can’t comment. To me, its opening reminds me of a kind of sweet liqueur without being in any way cloying or strong, slightly smoky, with an aromatic fruity and cinnamon part. I also perceive some licorise, but I’m not sure if this sensation is the result of the combination of the previous notes or corresponds to an undeclared note. All very well balanced and making this a quite original opening. Gradually, a note of dry tobacco makes its way through, accompanying the rest of the previous notes and making the whole an attractive and addictive aroma. In its final dry-down, a subtle vanilla is also perceived that finishes rounding off the composition. With a skin longevity of approximately 8 hours and very good trail and projection for the first two hours (this isn’t a beast mode, but people around you will definitely perceive it); for more nocturnal than daytime use, ideal for cold days and ideal for a date or a night out; with a character ranging from informal to semi-formal. In my opinion, we are facing one of the best launches of this year for these cold months and certainly very much worth considering if you are a lover of tobacco perfumes.

I used a 2ML sample and after smelling it, as soon as I had the chance, I bought it. It authentically smells like apple hookah and certainly, the scent is very pleasant and ‘shocking’ in a perfume. My partner loves it. As a con, I’d say, like with other Kilian fragrances (Black Phantom comes to mind), it projects nothing, and the longevity is just right, without being too short. After about 5-6 hours it’s skin scent until around 10 hours in my case.

This is hot 🥵, what a delicious fragrance. Apple, cinnamon with a strong presence of tobacco, it’s total exquisite. I bought a 2ml decant and proceeded immediately to buy the bottle. Projects and lasts well, a nocturnal fragrance or for autumn and winter.

What a brilliant perfume. The fruity opening and as it dries down it becomes a mature aroma with that cinnamon, apple and tobacco. A nocturnal and special perfume for cooler climates.

What a cool perfume; it’s the first time I’m considering buying from Kilian. It literally smells like apple hookah, gourmand yet not cloying, with a very original scent. The performance seems good, though I wish it lasted a little longer because it’s simply wonderful.

  • Smells beastly; the opening with its sharp apple note is discreet, but once it dries down, the magic truly ignites. A worthy balance, gourmand yet not cloying; the vanilla is super natural, reminiscent of Joussete’s Vanille. The only drawback is the performance: you have to be generous with the sprays to achieve moderate longevity, which holds back the purchase. This style usually fades quickly, and similar fragrances I’ve tried fail to match it. What a pity, as the scent itself is top-notch.

  • This smells very, very good. The opening with sharp apple isn’t saying much, but in the dry-down the magic appears; it has a worthy balance. I think it’s gourmand without going over to the gluttonous or cloying side; the vanilla feels very natural, like in Joussette’s Acca de la Vanille. The main and no small problem with this perfume is the performance: you have to be generous with sprays to achieve moderate longevity, and that puts a lot of people off when it comes to buying. This style of perfume tends to fade quickly; I’ve tried a few others with a similar aroma and they all suffer from poor performance. It’s a shame because the scent smells very good.

What a cool perfume; it’s the first time I’m thinking of buying a Kilian fragrance. It literally smells like apple hookah, it’s certainly gourmand without being too cloying, and the scent is very original. The performance seems good, though I wish it lasted a bit longer because it’s wonderful.

Opening with red fruits similar to what you find in Plum in Cognac or Rivalite by Plume Impression. Sweet without becoming gourmand; during the first hour it’s pleasant without being invasive, more so in terms of presence; it will stand out above the common. After that hour, a soft vanilla/cinnamon emerges to give way, between the 2-3 hour mark, to apple notes mixed with soft tobacco that could be dried leaf, adding just body; the smoke notes are never detected in the perfume’s life. After 5 hours, trail in the personal area. Good option for climates below 25 degrees, autumn, spring. Good for dates or semi-formal occasions.

From the very first moment on skin, it’s woody and heavy with tobacco. To me, it’s totally masculine, with a spiced touch and a black licorice base that doesn’t quite fit. Given how it works on my skin, it’s an absolute no; I don’t think I’d even like it if I smelled it on a man’s skin. As it dries down, the licorice takes prominence, leaving a gourmand fragrance reminiscent of Kayali’s Oud Chocolate, but swapping the chocolate for an intense blend of licorice and tobacco. It’s completely out of my wheelhouse.

From the first minute on my skin, it feels like a woody, tobacco-heavy fragrance. To me, it’s totally masculine, with a spicy touch and a black licorise base that just doesn’t sit right with me. Given how it develops on my skin, it’s an absolute No for me 😵💫; I don’t think I’d even like it smelling on a man’s skin. As it dries down, the licorise becomes more prominent, leaving a gourmand scent reminiscent of Kayali’s OUD Chocolate 🍫, but swapping the chocolate for an intense mix of licorise and tobacco. It moves away completely from my tastes.

BUT WHAT IS THIS? Smoke, fruit, and tobacco, it’s incredible! I don’t know whether to wear it or spend the day smelling my wrist. It’s like passing a tobacco factory, but with that freshly packed tobacco scent, mixed with vanilla and fruit, all super elegant and well-crafted. It has an addictive vibe, those kinds you can’t stop sniffing your wrist for. Definitely not for everyday use. This is for special occasions or casual hangouts with mates where you want to stand out without feeling forced. Rating: 10/10. Usage: nights, special events, relaxed but stylish outings. Feeling: confident man’s perfume with refined taste.
