Modest Pour Homme Une by Afnan is a spicy aromatic fragrance for men. Launched in 2019, this composition features an olfactory pyramid designed by the perfumer who created it. The top notes unfold with pepper, lavender, mint, and nutmeg; the heart reveals citrus, amber, and eucalyptus; while the base notes settle on musk, vetiver, and cedar.

  • It’s one of the few commented Afnan perfumes on Spanish Fragrantica. Of all the Afnan perfumes I’ve tried, these are of very good quality at a fair price, as they should be, without inflating the cost due to absurd marketing. Here, the entire abstract concept of Dior Sauvage’s base notes is related: pepper, lavender and a load of ambroxan, with excellent performance and nuclear projection. This perfume simply lasts eight hours well-established, and its versatility stands out in all areas: office, social, occasional outings, dates. It’s a brief mix between the Dior EDT and EDP with a touch of Sheikh business style. Highly recommended for its price, longevity and without so much hype.

  • I can only recommend it. I loved Luna Rossa Carbon, but this is better: more potent, longer-lasting, better price, no complaints. BBB.

  • It has the same opening scent as Sauvage EDT and Luna Rossa Carbon, but with more lavender. It’s much stronger and more potent. However, the scent doesn’t evolve like the previous ones, staying in the opening notes. If you like the first spray of Sauvage and Luna Rossa, you’ll love this. If you prefer the evolution of the heart and base notes, this might not be what you’re looking for. It also reminds me a bit of Club de Nuit Urban Elixir.

  • Smells exactly like the opening of Sauvage EDT and Luna Rossa Carbon, but with more lavender and significantly more potency. The issue is that it doesn’t evolve; it gets stuck on those top notes. If you enjoy the first spray of those two, you’ll love this; if you’re looking for heart and base evolution, it’s not for you. It also reminds me of Club de Nuit Urban Elixir.

Fresh and delicious fragrance, very similar to Egoiste by Chanel. Average projection but lasts up to six hours without problems. Good purchase.

A fresh and delicious fragrance, very similar to Chanel’s Egoiste. It has moderate projection but lasts up to six hours without issue. A good purchase.

  • I loved this fragrance and find it similar to Sauvage EDT and Luna Rossa Carbon, as if it were between the two, especially the Prada one in the opening minutes.

  • People criticise Arabian perfumery for copying scents and bottles without scruples. But what do you say when original brands withdraw beloved perfumes or reformulate them worse without lowering the price? Dior, following Blue de Chanel, set a benchmark with Sauvage, but apart from the Elixir, the range is no longer worth it for the price and performance, including the recent travesty of Sauvage Acqua Forte. On its part, L’Oréal moved into Prada to make Luna Rossa Carbon, a twin of Sauvage, a shadow of what it was when Puig bottled it. This was the state of affairs when Afnan rescued both DNA strands and offered Modest Une. Tired of searching for alternatives and eager for a blue perfume that performed on my dry skin, I bought it blind for 22€. What a surprise. The bottle resembles Myself by YSL, heavy glass without a magnetic cap. The box has little to envy of niche presentations. The scent: very close to the aforementioned DNA, a blazing opening, more aromatic than the references, with good projection for an hour before enveloping you in a personal bubble. It doesn’t feel synthetic. Performance: six hours on my dry skin, reaching eight on oily skin. On top of that, it’s a source of compliments. In summary: thanks, Afnan.

I compared it with Sauvage EDT and Luna Rossa Carbon. I’d say it’s 80% Prada and 20% Dior, very clean. I recommend it wholeheartedly; the quality is good. However, the longevity is poor, lasting only four to five hours. To me, the Carbon smells very ‘anaesthetised’, and this Modest Une corrects that. Spectacular, friends: it’s an easy and safe fragrance, perfect for gifting to someone who doesn’t own any perfumes. Even though the longevity is short, it smells wonderful.

I compared it with Sauvage EDT and Luna Rossa Carbon. It’s 80% Prada and 20% Dior. Very clean. I recommend it wholeheartedly; good quality. The lasting power is poor, 4-5 hours. What happens to me is that Carbon smells very ‘anaesthetised’ and this Modest Une corrects it. Spectacular, an easy and safe perfume, ideal for gifting to someone who doesn’t have fragrances.

  • Fragranticman

It seems to be a blend of Sauvage EDT, Luna Rossa Carbon, and The Icon EDT. It’s not identical to any of them, having nuances of all three. It’s not sweet, but as it dries down, it has a subtly sweetened touch. Sometimes the pepper is very low and it leans more towards Prada; other times the spice is strong, giving it the character of The Icon. Of course, it carries the original Dior base of citrus, lavender, and ambroxan. Anyone who has used the Prada or Dior versions will immediately notice the difference in olfactive quality. If someone wants to buy it blind based on reviews claiming it’s identical to Sauvage or Carbon, I’d advise them to try it first, because if that’s their expectation, it won’t satisfy them. Out of all the clones or imitations I’ve tried, none match the quality of those two. This one is decent, but it doesn’t replace them. While I’d wear the Prada and Dior versions with a suit and tie, I wouldn’t wear this one, as it feels lower in quality, even though it smells good. It’s perfect for informal situations. Not bad, to be honest. For 21 euros for 100ml.

It smells like a blend of Sauvage, Luna Rossa Carbon and The Icon. It isn’t identical to any of them, having nuances of all three. It’s not sweet, but it sweetens subtly as it dries down. Sometimes the pepper note is very low and it approaches Prada, other times it’s boosted and recalls The Icon. It has the citrus, lavender and ambroxan base from Dior. If you’ve used the Prada or Dior ones, you’ll notice this has inferior olfactory quality. If you’re planning to buy it blind based on reviews claiming it’s equal to Sauvage or Carbon, I’d say try it first; if that’s your expectation, it won’t satisfy you. Of all the clones I’ve tried, none reach the quality of those two. This is good, but it doesn’t replace them. With Prada and Dior, I’d wear a suit and tie; with this, I wouldn’t, as the lower quality is noticeable, although it smells nice. It’s perfect for informal situations. Not bad for 21€ for 100ml.

  • They sold it to me as a dupe for Sauvage, but they aren’t that similar. It’s about 30% alike. I’m bothered by the strong menthol kick at the start; it smells like a plant for about 30 minutes. Lasting power is average, around four hours on my skin. For the price, it’s decent, but I wouldn’t buy it again as it was a blind purchase.
