I start by saying it’s often called the perfect clone of Creed’s Vetiver Original. While it’s not 100% accurate, there’s certainly some truth to it. At first, what struck me most were woody notes with cedar and green touches, blended with hints of citrus, lavender and musk; this combination creates that vetiver-like aura, even though vetiver isn’t listed in the notes. Initially, it smells distinctly vetivery—woody, natural and slightly earthy, but not fresh. This lasted for the first five hours, with a moderate trail that tends to be on the lower side. Then it began to change: the vetiver sensation from the blend faded away. It remained an aromatic wood but lost that vetiver character, as if transforming into a green version of Polo Classic, and this phase lasted another three hours. Afterwards, it mutated again; I detected a faithful copy of Carlo Corinto, that specific green fragrance with the same name, and it persisted for about two hours before disappearing completely. It is undoubtedly a formal-cut fragrance, ideal for weddings or events requiring elegant attire. Is it good? Perhaps yes; the only drawback is its low trail. The first five hours, when it seemed to have vetiver, were moderate-low; the next three, like Polo Classic, were very low; and the final two, resembling Carlo Corinto, were so low I could barely detect it on my skin. It might have been my skin, because the next day, where my shirt touched my skin, the scent was very noticeable, smelling almost as if I’d just applied it to the fabric. These results overwhelmed the diffuser about five times; I get the impression it might work better with one or two sprays, as sometimes that happens. I’ll test it with two applications and let you know. I should also mention I wore it in heat, which might explain the low trail and that transformation behaviour without the vetiver. Suitable for ages 25 and above, and in cool or cold climates. Regarding its resemblance to Creed’s Vetiver, I can’t offer an opinion as I haven’t tried it yet; the stores where I bought it didn’t have testers. As a final note, in a YouTube video comparing both, Creed’s Vetiver received 7.5/10 and this one 8/10.
