Turathi Blue by Afnan

I don’t know the Bvlgari Tygar, but I have Club de Nuit Iconic and this smells identical, though it’s a bit less sweet and I see it more for adults. I love it and all Afnan scents are a step up in quality over the Arabs. If there’s a synthetic touch, it’s too much for my taste. Would I buy it again? No, because I only buy what works for all seasons, and I see this more for spring days or summer nights.

To the point: does it smell good? Yes. Does it resemble Tygar? To some extent, yes, but clearly in lesser proportion. The opening is citrusy, quite fresh, and with acceptable quality. Then the woody notes appear, and to be honest, that’s where it practically stays. There isn’t much more evolution; the perfume remains quite linear. With Tygar, the story is different: it evolves more, changes over the hours, and the quality difference is quite noticeable. Of course, we’re also talking about a perfume that costs much more. Would I recommend it? Yes. It works very well for a hot summer. It smells pleasant, is economical, and has an average duration of about 5 hours, with a projection close to an hour and a half. That said: don’t buy it expecting it to be a real Tygar clone. Better to take it for what it is: a fresh, pleasant, and accessible fragrance for everyday use.

I tried it, but it doesn’t quite please me. It has good longevity and projection, but I don’t know who came up with saying this resembles Bvlgari Tygar; it doesn’t resemble it at all, I’d say 50 or 60%. But putting that aside, it’s a good perfume, although it’s not much to my liking.

I’ve had it for a few weeks, very good aroma from the start and after drying down. I’ll take it to my holidays in Brazil, we’ll continue testing. Recommended for what it’s worth.

100% satisfactory. I haven’t tried the original Tygar, but I know Bleu de Chanel inside out; it’s not a 1:1 clone, but something between the EDT and the EDP. Very masculine, with a potent citrus opening that fades quickly, leaving behind strong patchouli and musk that last longer. It’s not impressive, but not flat either. It’s a quality Arabic fragrance, without that typical alcohol or bubblegum taste. It smells good and suits any occasion, although its longevity is short (3-4 hours on skin, 1-2 hours projecting). Versatile, cheap and good quality, above all it’s ‘gustón’ and I’ve received many compliments. Worth it, just keep in mind it doesn’t last as long.

I don’t know the Bvlgari Tygar, but I absolutely love this one. It smells delicious, fresh, and elegant. The packaging and bottle are excellent; the scent feels like a high-end, fine fragrance. I’d wear it during the day, from casual situations to formal occasions. The performance isn’t great, so if you get the chance, keep a backup; the price is good enough to justify it. Longevity doesn’t exceed six hours, but it projects well for the first hour and a half or two. If the performance were better, it would definitely be in my top five.

One of the best I’ve ever bought; everyone loves it and I get many compliments. After a few months, the longevity improved; letting it mature seems to have been a good idea. It’s not one that lasts for endless hours—about five—but if you give it a little touch-up, it still smells great.

As Javitor says, this perfume is different when you smell it yourself versus when someone else smells it; that’s its magic. People will compliment you because it awakens sighs, hehe. On my skin, it lasts about six to seven hours, and on clothes, a minimum of two days. I own several blues: Bleu Chanel EDP, Sauvage EDP, Dylan Blue, L’Homme Idéal Sport EDP, Explorer EDP, and Polo Blue EDP, plus this Turathi Blue. I also have citrus scents like Dior Homme Cologne, L’Eau d’Issey, and Aqua di Gio EDT, but the one that has given me the most compliments is this Arabic fragrance, followed by the Polo Blue EDP. It must have something good about it.

I absolutely love this fragrance; I hadn’t heard of the Tygar until today, and I’m telling you it’s 96% similar. The difference lies in the opening. Not because it’s cheap—I say this humbly—but this Turathi seems better than its own inspiration.

Half full or half empty: a particular, citrusy, spicy, and rich aroma, far from the mainstream. I love the freshly cut red pepper note at the start. But it doesn’t smell like a common perfume, receives no compliments, and gets confused with mosquito repellent. It’s like a divided glass; I recommend not buying blindly.

For my compatriots: What does the opening smell like? To opening a chilled grapefruit from Paso de los Toros on a 35-degree day. A rich, natural, and vibrant grapefruit, nothing synthetic. Then it calms down and becomes serious, like Bleu de Chanel, woody and elegant. At 21, it’s a summer bomb but shines in formal settings; it puts you in a white shirt and imaginary suit. For everyday wear, it’s a ten. Correct performance: 6 or 7 hours projecting well at the start. And the price: around 50,000 pesos (less than $35 dollars) is a bargain. Quality and freshness at a laughable price. Safe blind buy if you like classy citrus.

I bought it this summer and have been testing it gradually. At home, post-shower, it’s something light. I see it as a dark citrus; the grapefruit feels good. The curious part: yesterday I applied two sprays to my forearm to play padel, and while playing, exquisite and seductive bursts came to me. I wondered who smelled so good until I realised it was me. There I understood the richness: it has two aromas, the close-up one and the one left in the air. The one in the air is the good one.

I’m human and I make mistakes… Some time ago I said it wasn’t the big deal, but in the heat it’s INCREDIBLE. Pleasant, aquatic, citrusy, and herbal aroma (smells like grapefruit grass). I love the aura when you walk and the waves that are felt; it’s spectacular. Lasts normally for 5-6 hours and is at a good price (around $28,000 CLP). For summer it’s a 10/10; it’s one of the best Arab scents I’ve tried without a doubt.
