Vibrato by Sospiro Perfumes

I bought Vibrato after trying a decant and an inspiration (Vibrant Dreams by Dua), which helped me understand the profile before committing to a full bottle. The fragrance is beautiful: it opens with a luminous citrus and an elegant floral touch. Ginger appears almost immediately, adding vibrant character, while the musk provides a pleasant cleanliness and the cedar offers a woody base that balances everything. Projection is good for about 3–4 hours and lasts 6–7 on the skin, with clearly superior quality. Without a doubt, it is a gem of modern perfumery and fits into any collection.

I tried the 5ml decant because with all the noise on social media, it’s not easy to trust reviews and buy blindly. It’s a very good perfume, better than Perfumazo if you’re entering the niche like I was; perhaps this will lead you to luxury or even millionaire status; the quality of the ingredients is evident. I recommend trying decants and drawing your own conclusions; I’m already thinking about the full bottle. Here in Panama, it can be found at a good price, between $130 and $150.

The hype around this perfume is fully justified. Excellent projection and longevity, with a very nice scent.

First, let me clarify that I’m speaking only of my personal taste. That it’s good, that it gets compliments, and that its longevity and trail are beastly, all that is true. Objectively, it’s a good perfume; I don’t deny it. And yet, I don’t like it. It’s a totally personal preference and I don’t intend to take away from Vibrato’s merit. I write to motivate people to try before buying, because we have subjective tastes and something might be good but not to our liking. Vibrato is citrusy and a bit marine. The two most prominent notes are the grapefruit, which reminds me a lot of Daisy, and the ambroxan, which isn’t listed but is evident. The other notes act as a transparent veil, perceptible at times and not at others. When I used the 5ml decant, I received many compliments, so much so that I, who don’t usually notice, realised it. In any case, it seems synthetic, plastic, and grating to me. I don’t know many others of this style except Tygar, which I also didn’t like. What I think is that my problem is the olfactory profile, not the perfume itself. The longevity is crazy; I’d put it on in the morning and by night, more than 12 hours later, I could still clearly smell it. It also has a great trail, and if you over-apply, you can fill entire rooms, not in a pleasant way in my opinion. For this reason, repeating a previous user, I wouldn’t call it light. Perfect for heat yes, but it’s heavy, very heavy. I repeat: the best thing in perfumery is to try before buying a full bottle. No one has the same taste and that’s fine.

Well, it’s time to review what many consider the king of the moment. It shares the same DNA as Tygar but with steroids. It’s incredibly rich, long-lasting, and projects beautifully, leaving a lovely trail and smelling luxurious—a blend of ginger and grapefruit with a modern molecular base that is the key to everything, giving it that exceptional performance. From a distance, it smells fantastic; up close, there’s a slight synthetic edge compared to Tygar, even a hint of powderiness, but I don’t see it as a problem. It never fails to make an impression wherever you go, it’s easy to like, and very modern. The tricky part is finding it at a good price, but if you appreciate fragrances that make a statement, like an Imagination, an Aventus from ten years ago, or an Oud for Greatness, this undoubtedly belongs among the greats. If you can try it, don’t hesitate and don’t do what I did by dismissing it based on comments labelling it bad and ultra-synthetic; that’s why I was late to the party, but I finally have it in my hands. Previously, I tested several samples of Tygar and Ingenious Ginger, and there is no competition—this is the king of that DNA.

I don’t know if they’re worth it… But it’s an incredible perfume. Rich, powerful, and long-lasting. Besides, it pleases everyone who smells it on you.

One of the best citrus scents I’ve tried. Smells natural and exquisite; ideal for mornings, daily office wear, lunches, and casual night outings in the heat. It’s one of the few that withstands extreme heat; I know because I live in Punta Cana and this simply refuses to give in. A tip: spray it on clothes already worn; it lasts forever regardless of the weather. It has good longevity and moderate projection, but it’s one of those perfumes that gives you energy every time you put it on. I’ve used it as a decant and will definitely buy the bottle, though first I want to try the Basso from the same Sospiro line when I run out. Anecdote: I sprayed it at 10am; by 3:30pm in a shop others smelled better, but by 5pm back in the office I was back to being me. At 11:17pm while writing this, I can still smell it and everyone else has gone. 100% recommended, I see it as unisex. A wonder. 10/10.

I already own Tygar, but I absolutely love the first two hours of Vibrato: a sweet, refreshing, realistic citrus, like those ‘Sparkling’ drinks, an improved version of the opening. – It lasts more than 8 hours, but here comes the problem for me: the remaining six hours are horrible. A very strong Ambroxan with a lot of Hediona that my nose finds unpleasant, and the patchouli gives it a dirty touch. – Unfortunately, the Bvlgari next to it is more restrained but justifies its price through the precision and quality (yes, synthetic) of its ingredients.

Vibrato is a grapefruit and citrus fragrance with talc-like and ambroxan notes. I find it very pleasant, vital and cheerful. Although it’s associated with heat and summer, I don’t consider it light. For strong heat I’m not sure I’d wear it; it has a density that gives it versatility and allows use with a bit of cold. The problem is that it’s not easy to find in stores and it’s also expensive. Although it can be found at a price slightly lower than Tygar. Personally, I see no resemblance to Sedley by PDM.

I’ve loved it; I think it’s a superior version to Sedley by PDM. You can notice acidic citrus, musk and woods that have won me over. Be careful with the sprays as it can be overwhelming. If you’re looking for an affordable alternative, Thurati Blue is perfect; besides, it doesn’t have that slightly annoying herbal note. Scent: 10/10, Longevity: 8/10, Projection: 7/10, Sillage: 7/10, Value for money: 1/10, Blind buy: 10/10, Versatility: 6/10, Season: warm and temperate climates.
