A decent perfume. The saffron and oud accord is noticeable almost from the start and dominates the fragrance. The pyramid works: it starts fresh, the heart has flowers (especially rose), and as it dries, it sweetens with amber and vanilla. The oud here is strong and leathery, a scent not for everyone, something dirty but not monotonous, changing nuances. I’m not a big fan of these smells and, besides, after a few hours, it’s hard to perceive. I tested it at a fair with lots of people and dust… Sometimes perfumers get lost smelling in a clean lab, but the reality of being out for 12 hours is different. Balance is key. The longevity is good, but in the trail… uhm, I think someone who stole my Joop Homme was winning hehe.
Absolutely loved it! But, is it for women? It smells like what I want to feel in a man’s chest when I hug him: exquisite, clean, and classy oud. It has wood, a touch of menthol, and something sweet. For me, it’s unisex, but on a man, it’s super sexy. I could rub it all over his neck all day…
OMG, it’s a delight. It denotes elegance and opulent places; the blend creates a divinity that transports me. The leather, rose, saffron, woods and cardamom are perfectly balanced and denote quality. I’m in love, ideal for the office, dates or staying at home. It seems more masculine to me but it is unisex. As it settles, I notice more oud with fine leather nuanced by Damask rose. I LOVE IT.
Halfeti is like a whisper to the ear that accompanies a tender embrace. Subtle, complicit, sensual, and welcoming, it envelops you in a magical aura while you walk through spring fields alongside fresh wood forests. The balance of notes is an intoxicating journey of bright spices, vivid flowers, and high-quality woods. A citrus and green tone upon spraying, where the oud appears with subtle animal nuances, mixed with cardamom, saffron, bergamot, and cypress. Revitalising. Here I enjoy the oud more; it gives character without snobbery. It evolves into roses and white flowers, maintaining spicy and woody bases. I’m surprised it’s hard to identify notes because they are so well blended. As it dries, it’s a pleasant mix of tonka, amber, and musk that lasts about 8 hours, with moderate projection except for the first hour. An exquisite, unisex, and versatile scent that has conquered me and I recommend it to all perfume lovers.
Halfeti is like a whisper to the ear accompanying a tender embrace. Subtle, complicit, sensual and welcoming, it envelops you in a magical aura for a stroll through spring meadows alongside fresh wood forests. The balance is an intoxicating journey of bright spices, vivid flowers and excellent quality woods. A citrus and green tone upon spraying, where the oud appears with subtle animalic notes, mixed with cardamom, saffron, bergamot and cypress. Revitalising. This is where I most enjoy the oud; it adds depth without being pretentious. It evolves into floral tones of rose and whites, with spicy and woody bases. I’m surprised by the difficulty in identifying individual notes; they are so well blended. It dries to a perfect mix of tonka, amber and musk with eight hours of performance, except for the first hour with a moderate projection. An exquisite, unisex and versatile scent that has conquered me.
Penhaligon’s Halfeti has just arrived in my collection and I love it dearly, though I must admit it looks better on my husband at first glance. It’s a delight, denoting elegance and class, opulent settings, an olfactory journey into the past. The leather, rose, saffron, woods, amber, cardamom and its shy vanilla are perfectly balanced; quality is evident. I’m smitten. On the dry down and at the heart, I can’t separate the notes; they all dance together. Once fully dried, I notice more tonka and amber with a slight sweetness wrapped in musk and a discreet oud. I’ll wear it more to form a better opinion. Fun fact: it contains black rose, a mythical flower that exists naturally only in a Turkish village called Halfeti overlooking the Euphrates.
I tried every fragrance in this discovery set and only picked two: The Favourite and this one. It really caught my attention, even though my usual profile is feminine and Halfeti isn’t. Perhaps the blend of sweetened woods and tree leaves transports me to a forest; I detect plenty of rose, sweet vanilla and tonka bean. To me, it’s unisex and on my dry skin it reads as a sweet woody floral with a touch of nutmeg spice.
If you want to save a fortune, go straight for Chopard’s Oud Malaki because they smell identical, period. The scent in both fragrances is spectacular.
It is a fragrance that wraps around you, with a warm and elegant essence, without being stiff. It has an interesting play and evolution on the skin and over time. You can detect the rose, but it is a scent with mystery accompanied by many woods and elements that make it complex. I would say it is unisex, more suitable for cold or temperate climates, and for people over 30 or younger, but for special occasions. I recommend it highly for dates and situations where you want to stand out. The composition is complex and heavy, so if you like that, this lotion is ideal.
A spectacular fragrance. Perfumes, like songs, can remind us of an era or a person, and this one reminds me of the Covent Garden area in London. The Penhaligon’s shop is a mandatory stop for perfume lovers, and if you look next to the door, there is an air vent that constantly expels air with this fragrance, flooding the atmosphere. For me, that’s an added bonus. It’s not just good; it brings me pleasant memories.
Undoubtedly one of my favourites. I’m not much of a leather or tonka bean person; I think it doesn’t agree with my pH, but at first I didn’t like it, and as the hours passed, I came to love it more. I started to smell the rose, the jasmine, the sandalwood… a delight. The finish reminds me a bit of Cairo because it’s sweet, but it’s not the same. Halfeti has a very predominant leather note, making it more masculine than feminine, but it can still be unisex. It is eternal on jackets or on the body; its longevity is excellent.
It is a masterpiece, a jewel. It has become the perfume I enjoy smelling the most, whether on myself or someone else. Woody, leathery, elegant, cypress. From the moment it is worn, you know it commands attention. I do recommend it blindly. 10/10.
A delicious perfume. To me, it smells of wood and rose. There are other notes, but these are the predominant ones. I don’t detect bergamot. If you have a refined nose, I smell nutmeg, something like cardamom, tonka bean, and certainly vanilla. I also think there is jasmine. I insist: mainly oud plus rose. It’s curious that some people smell leather, as it doesn’t contain it. It’s an excellent aroma. Slightly feminine due to the rose, but I wear it with delight. It is exotic, mysterious, elegant, mystical, sensual, and overwhelming. They say it carries black rose from a Turkish village called Halfeti. Its performance isn’t as good as one might expect for this price, which is a pity, as that’s where it falters. Age: 20+. Unisex, slightly feminine. Fresh springs, autumns, and winters. Scent: 9.5/10. Longevity: 5/10. Duration: 3-4h. Projection: 6/10. Versatility: 8/10. Price: €2.40/ml. Final Score: 7/10.
I would define this rich perfume in three words: leather, animalic, and cumin. It is complex, lacks significant evolution, perfect for the cold, and very pleasant to wear. I don’t see it as exceptionally versatile. Keep children and heat away. I think it could look brilliant on a woman, although I perceive it as more masculine. It is undoubtedly my favourite from the Halfeti line.
A great perfume, very complex, though not pleasant for everyone. Most people aren’t disgusted by it, but it rarely receives compliments or is considered super attractive. Age: I don’t think perfumes need a rating; it’s something ‘unreal’, though I feel it’s +25 and more seductive in that bracket. Projection: Moderate/heavy, projects almost all the time without being overwhelming. Scent: I don’t find it particularly innovative or the kind that captivates as people say. Longevity: Lasts 8-10 hours with great projection. Price: Niche, high (€2.40/ml). Score: It’s not worth the hype as people say; I don’t recommend buying blindly. It’s a great fragrance, but try before you decide.
I wanted to list its alternative but it isn’t available. Here it is because Fragantica doesn’t carry it; it’s by Rayhaan Tyger, look it up, it’s just as brilliant. 🫰🏻 This is equivalent to saying it is one of the best from Penhaligon’s for me. Halfeti. That’s why I’ve listed the alternative here.
I wanted to compare it with its alternative but can’t find one. Since Fragrantica hasn’t listed it yet, here’s the info: it’s Rayhaan Tyger, which is just as brutal. 🫰🏻 For me, this is one of Penhaligon’s finest, Halfeti, which is why I’m sharing the alternative here.
Halfeti is an olfactory gem I’ve worn for years that never goes unnoticed: it always earns compliments and curiosity. It’s a characterful, elegant, and utterly addictive fragrance. One of those compositions that surprises with its complexity and balance. It opens with a spiced and citrusy top note that quickly yields to a dark floral heart, where the discrete rose takes centre stage, enveloped in floral and spicy notes, before sinking into a warm, deep, and enveloping base of amber, leather, and woods that lasts for hours, adding an exotic and highly sophisticated touch. Its longevity is excellent, and its trail is elegant yet firm, leaving a mark without being invasive. It’s the perfect fragrance for those seeking intense scents with a rich narrative and an elegant presence. Ideal for nights, special events, or cooler climates. An aroma for those who enjoy the classics but crave a crack where the unexpected can slip through. Not for everyone. It’s a well-kept secret, for those who walk leaving a silent yet unforgettable trail.

I absolutely love it; it’s beautiful, but a word of caution: at an arbitration, someone told me it smelled like a man. One must keep in mind the capricious nature of the general public and do what suits you, depending on what you’re looking for.
