It might be my skin chemistry, but this perfume just didn’t work for me. After using up almost the entire mini, I didn’t feel brave enough to buy the large bottle. Although I usually buy blindly and rarely go wrong, I had doubts about this one due to the aldehyde notes, which in my experience yield very different results on each person. I bought a miniature and tested it many times, day and night. Honestly, on my skin it smells only of talcum powder with rose essence. No matter how hard I tried, it was always the same. It’s a pleasant scent and not too sweet, but on my skin it’s not sensual. It smells like perfumed talcum after a shower. If someone likes something simple and clean, go ahead, but I don’t recommend buying it without testing first, as aldehydes change greatly depending on the skin. In my case, it lasts little, about two or three hours, and the sillage is soft.
If you like powdery perfumes, this is a good option. It seemed very soft to me and reminded me of a pin-up girl with pale skin, a tan, red lips, and a polka-dot scarf. It’s not overpowering; to me, it smells of iris, violets, and jasmine, and as it dries down it becomes an amber with wood without losing the floral touch. It’s elegant and easy to wear because of that comforting clean scent. It doesn’t have much sillage, but lasts quite a few hours on the skin, perfect for enjoying on your own.
I was expecting something like Moulin Rouge. The opening is a floral explosion with powdery sweet violets, iris, roses, and jasmine, while the ylang-ylang adds an exotic touch. The base is a creamy amber musk, clean with a earthy nuance. It’s very sweet and cosy, like a sensual floral talcum powder from the 40s. Ideal for evening, not too intense but lasts over 10 hours. The advertising is ugly, but the perfume is damn sexy: romantic, intimate, and vulnerable. Sensuality is an attitude, not just the packaging, which is horrible (looks like a pomegranate or something dominatrix-like). Despite everything, I’m obsessed with those violets and already have it on my wishlist.
Smells superb and you can tell it’s worn to turn heads at night. Two sprays last about six hours. It gives me a vintage vibe, as if it were made in the 80s rather than 2006, and I absolutely adore it. I use it when I want to feel more feminine. The opening is intense, like a summer night with intoxicating flowers. Then the cedar and musk come through, adding depth. It’s a lovely scent that I love to sniff over and over again.
