Nabati by Astrophil & Stella is an olfactive fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2021, the nose behind this composition is Christian Provenzano. The top notes reveal sea salt, saffron, rum, cardamom, ambrette musk, and davana; the heart unfolds aquatic notes, iris, cedar, and Moroccan rose; while the base settles on leather, oud wood, crystal amber, cedar, vetiver, patchouli, labdanum, moss, and vanilla.

It’s a madness. They gave it to me as a sample and I didn’t hesitate a second to buy it. On my skin, it lasts two days, staying incredibly long, though sometimes my nose gets used to it and I lose it; don’t worry, others smell it perfectly. Suddenly, bursts remind you it’s there. The opening is super fresh, like water and salt, with the iris announcing what’s to come. Almost simultaneously, the oud and leather emerge, giving the impression that the opening was a deception. It doesn’t smell like cheap oud or heavy leather; those notes accompany the iris masterfully. Imagine a Dior Homme Parfum but with much more leather and oud presence. In the end, it settles on a sweet tone from the iris and amber, but the vetiver and water tone it down, bursting with freshness alongside the sweetness. It’s an incredibly complex fragrance with many scents emerging at once. For me, it’s a signature scent; I had no doubt when I smelled it. 10/10
It’s madness. They gave it to me as a sample and I bought it instantly. On skin, it lasts two days, fixing very much, although sometimes it gets lost to my olfactory sense; don’t worry, others smell it. Suddenly, bursts remind of its presence. The opening is super fresh, like water and salt, with an iris announcing what’s coming. Almost immediately, the oud and leather enter, giving the impression that the opening was a deception. It doesn’t smell like stinky oud or heavy leather; they are notes that accompany the iris masterfully. Imagine Dior Homme Parfum but with more leather and oud in the background. In the end, it maintains a sweet tone, I suppose it’s the iris and amber, but the vetiver and water tone it down and burst freshness. It’s a very complex perfume with many scents emerging. For me it’s a signature fragrance, I had no doubt when smelling it. 10/10
It’s that classic leather found everywhere, but here it’s wrapped in something watery, fresh and salty. You can detect a clean, powdery touch from the iris, although the synthetic base feels a bit artificial. It’s not built to last all day; rather, it fades quickly, just as they say Kike does. This is my first try with the brand, so I’ll keep testing. The Nabati isn’t bad, but it hasn’t excited or surprised me; I expected more after reading so much about it.
I think I’ve never tried anything so strong; the next day on paper it was the only one noticeable among many, invading the room. As for the scent, although I love leather, I find nothing charming in this perfume, perhaps it’s too smoky for my taste.

On skin, it is far more complex than it appears on paper: a perfume full of facets and opposing nuances. The initial spray hits you like a slap of ambroxan, but after five minutes, once it settles, the magic begins. As it dries, it becomes even more intricate: starting with a dark marine accord blended with wood and oud, yet gradually clean, fresh, talc-like, aromatic and iris notes emerge. Although the marine element remains, it no longer dominates; instead, it becomes part of a balanced, cohesive blend where notes pull in different, even opposite, directions yet with perfect harmony. It is dark, yet possesses elements that give it sparkle; it is powerful and dense, but also fresh and clean. It is like a conjunction of parts pulling in opposite directions with just the right force to keep everything united at the centre. Everything evolves as it dries, giving the iris more prominence until it integrates seamlessly into the whole. Without a doubt, it goes far beyond what it seems at first.
I get hallucinations from the perfumes people wear; they remind me of Nabati. It’s become so common that with any other scent I make associations that have nothing to do with it. But in this case, it’s just mind-blowing…
