Il Padrino is very wearable and easy to like (quite the opposite of what I imagined from the name), with a decent longevity of 8-10 hours and good projection without being a beast mode. It’s very original; I can’t recall another similar one. In a short time, I’ve received many positive comments from my close circle. I see it for casual or semi-formal occasions; spring and autumn seem to be the best seasons. By the name, I imagined something like Don by Xerjoff or with much more complex, challenging, and masculine notes. From the very first time I smelled it, I knew it would eventually make its way into my collection; it has become one of my favourites in a short time and I enjoy it immensely. If you’re looking for compliments, without a doubt it will give them to you.
On trying Il Padrino, I found something intense, elegant, and designed to stand out. What I notice most is a licorish, creamy, addictive amaretto, accompanied by a resinous vanilla with an amber base that adds sensuality and warmth. It’s like an elegant dessert with liquor, but transformed into a fragrance. On my skin it lasts between 6 and 8 hours, with strong projection for the first 2 or 3 hours; although it fades later, it still leaves a dense and attractive trail. Ideal for cold nights, elegant dinners, or special events. It’s not versatile enough for daily use, but on the right occasion, it commands attention and garners compliments. What I like most is its licorish, enveloping personality, plus the sense of exclusivity. The downside is that it’s not for blind buying: it can be overwhelming if you don’t enjoy sweet, amber, or characterful alcoholic scents. Il Padrino is one of my best discoveries of the year: powerful, sophisticated, and with great presence. It needs to be worn at the right moment to truly shine.
I simply love it and it’s addictive. It has excellent performance, although perhaps with moderate but constant projection. The scent is alcoholic, sweet with slight woody touches that sometimes make it feel musky. For me, it’s a 10/10
No nonsense: smells charming and refined, very sweet, almost like cough syrup when sniffing the wrist. The magic is in the air: it projects an incredible musky sweetness with a notable fruity touch. It garners plenty of compliments, lasts a good while, and has high projection in the first few hours. Wear it as a signature scent in winter or autumn if you live in a cold area; if the aroma suits your character, you’ll feel like a king on special occasions. Easy 10/10
At first glance, I like it, nothing like what I expected from the notes; it reminded me of Van Phy Rhum, perhaps less twisted towards the vanilla and more towards the alcoholic side. I sprayed just one to test it: on my skin it’s totally tropical, as if it combined the passionfruit aspect of Oud Maracuya with the plum side of Pargons by Initio. I wouldn’t buy it expecting something dark or difficult to wear, but rather a fruity, easy-to-please fragrance that doesn’t say too much or have that typical challenging niche edge.
