Greenley by Parfums de Marly

I absolutely love this fragrance! It smells exquisite from start to finish. The apple note I can’t hear in any other perfume (there are clones that resemble it, but if you’re particular, you’ll notice the difference instantly). Fresh, juicy, charming, and it receives many compliments. With its woody and musky undertones at the base, it lasts significantly longer than one might expect for its type. Some might find it too simple for the price, but I feel that people who dislike this aromatic profile simply won’t enjoy it. I’ve used a quarter bottle over three years and have no doubt I’ll buy another when it runs out. I don’t recommend buying blindly due to the price, but if you try it, there’s a high probability you’ll like it if you enjoy these notes.

I love Greenley! It has become one of my favourites for spring-summer, although I wouldn’t advise it during extreme heatwaves. It’s one of the first times I’ve perceived all the notes described on Fragrantica, at least in the opening. There’s a mandarin-orange type citrus, as well as bergamot and apple. The opening is excellent: fruity, citrusy, fresh, with a touch of sweetness, but with a sense of good craftsmanship and high quality. The apple (typical crisp green and slightly acidic) persists, while the citrus fades after a few minutes. In fact, the green apple is the protagonist (hence the bottle’s colour). Shortly afterwards, soft woods (cedar and cashmere) appear, enveloping it in an elegant sweetness that pleases both the wearer and others. Over time, the oak moss makes it slightly more earthy, but only a little. What distinguishes it from other apple perfumes is its overall packaging (very rich and well-made), with a mix of nonchalance and elegance that makes it usable for any age and gender (though I think it suits men better), and for almost any occasion. I see it as a daytime scent, but I’d use it on a summer night without a problem. Very good longevity: between 10 and 12 hours, with good projection and trail for the first three hours, then it retreats into the personal bubble but is still detectable. It’s one of those I liked from the first test, and the more I use it, the more I like it. Great perfume. Absolutely recommended. I give it an 8.5, leaning towards 9. NOTE: As I don’t fully understand Parfums de Marly reformulations, I clarify that my bottle is from April 2024 with 80% remaining.

Wow! From the very first moment I heard it, I loved it: a perfectly handled citrus alongside that green apple which gives it a sweet touch, avoiding it being such an intense citrus, plus the cedar which gives it that woody touch. An exquisite fragrance. I would completely recommend spending the €265 it costs; I would even put it as a safe blind buy. Projection: 7.5/10, for many people it doesn’t project enough, although on my skin it projects perfectly over a metre. Longevity: 10/10; no matter how much it is a citrus and very fresh fragrance, it lasts quite a while, it has reached 10-12 hours for me in summer with great projection. Scent: 10/10, a very different and sophisticated scent, there’s no way to miss, a complete work of art that constantly attracts compliments. Price: €2.65 per ml, it is the average price of a niche fragrance of this level, so it doesn’t seem anything out of the ordinary for what it offers.

A very rich citrus.

It was the fragrance I was looking for: green, citrusy, fresh, delicious. It radiates a lot of freshness and is very versatile and elegant. Perfect for summer and spring. PS: the dry-down disgusted me because it reminded me of a perfume called AHLI KARPOS, which is not to my liking.

I really like the herbal opening notes; I only detect apple initially, followed by herbal scents, even giving me a sense of green tea despite it not being listed. Later, it settles into a quite powdery dry-down with a sweet touch. Unlike other fragrances, the herbal opening didn’t suit me, but the clean base does.

A fragrance where green apple and herbal notes (moss, grass) are the absolute protagonists. There are powdery notes, musk, and resin that complement that green tone. In my case, I don’t get along with it, although I can detect quality. Test before buying, and the price is extremely high for what it offers.

I was gifted a decant: the dusted green apple opening and the citrus/green notes were wonderful, but I can’t handle the dry-down. I get a damp sensation that I unfortunately can’t stand.

I applied it on skin in hot weather. What I smell most is a citrus tangerine, bergamot, and a touch of slightly sweet green apple. It’s not listed, but I detect quite a bit of lavender. In summary, it smells like lavender-scented soap infused with tangerine, bergamot, and green apple. It’s the scent of a freshly showered man with those pleasant citrus fruity touches.

Neither here nor there. I had high hopes for Greenley based on the reviews and bought it blind at a good price, but I wouldn’t pay even 50€ for it. It’s terrible in longevity: it lasts about 4 hours, projects well for the first hour and a half, then fades away. It smells nice, perhaps a bit mature, but at this price there are thousands that outshine it. I’m not that critical; I always look for the good, but for a mainstream brand like PDM, it’s the bare minimum. Scent 8/10, longevity 3/10, projection 6/10, sillage 5/10. If Hugo Boss had released it, no one would talk about it so much, but with PDM the hype is off the charts.

Following @kkkccc’s comment, I’ll go a bit further. The moment I sprayed it, Versace Man Eau Fraiche came to mind, and frankly, paying five or six times more for an extremely similar scent… no. That said, I love the smell, just as much as the Versace one.

It doesn’t smell bad; quite the opposite. But that strong note of wood and moss when it dries (on my skin) is hard to wear. I see it as a blind buy because everyone close to me has liked it. I don’t understand how people say it smells like a mojito, haha. I think I’ll sell it.

Good for daily use in hot weather.

I tried it with a 10 ml decant. It’s rich, energetic, an aromatic energy boost and cleanliness, but nothing that leaves you impacted with an otherworldly scent. It’s like mixing Pravia Hay with LE SANCY green apple soap and Light Blue by DG… forgive me if I offend the Parfums de Marly fans… luck to you, don’t spend on the 100 ml bottle, it would be a missed opportunity to buy another that truly makes me happy, like Iris Cedre Prada… yes, angels smell, haha.

The first time I smelled it from the bottle, I felt freshly cut grass with lots of green apple. I applied it to my hand and loved it from the first minute; it’s green, citrusy, and full of green apple. I bought a decant and I love it; pity it’s so expensive, I understand the quality justifies it but I find it excessive. It lasts more than 10 hours on skin and projects for more than 4 hours; I received compliments after 4 hours of application.
