Descripción

Aira by Sospiro Perfumes is an olfactory creation from the Oriental Woody family, designed for men and women. This new fragrance, launched in 2025, has been signed by nose Nathalie Templer. Its olfactive structure unfolds with an opening of incense, patchouli, oriental notes, amber and woods; a heart that reveals labdanum, cumin and earthy notes; and a deep, evocative base of animalic notes, oud wood, ambergris and dry wood.

  • There have been so few and unnuanced reviews of Aira that I felt compelled to write this one. In my opinion, Aira explores the earthier side of patchouli, intensifying it with oud, woods, and animalic notes. If you don’t enjoy earthiness in perfumes, I wouldn’t recommend it. In a way, although it doesn’t centre on ambergris, Aira complements the olfactive space occupied by Deep Ocean Amber from the same house. It’s been said to be a challenging perfume, but those who say that probably prefer something more mass-appealing. I believe the oud in Aira is very gentle and plays a relatively supporting role. The animalic notes sit somewhere between Frederic Malle’s Musc Ravageur and Zoologist’s Chipmunk. Therefore, for any nose accustomed to niche perfumery, the challenge is accessible. Aira is an eau de parfum that lends your image more formality and personality. Personally, I wouldn’t wear it for informal situations or with sportswear. However, I advise wearing it with a shirt and serious chino trousers or a suit. I also wouldn’t recommend it for very close encounters, as it invites a certain seriousness due to its depth. Although its opening is pleasantly ambered and aromatic, the heart and base speak of a different profile, like moving from a calm sunset to the darkness of night. Appreciated for formal or semi-formal use, it is quite versatile, with a non-intrusive scent, for personal enjoyment rather than to receive compliments. Its longevity and projection are good: it projects well to half a metre for the first hour and then becomes a personal bubble fragrance. Lasting around eight hours, it is highly recommended for chilly autumn or winter. As I always recommend, don’t let yourself be guided solely by ratings; always test any niche perfume on your skin before buying and don’t rely only on how it smells on blotter paper.
