Excellent perfume from Parfums de Marly, possibly the best in its line. It isn’t bright, but many people say it’s a potent clone of Hermès Ambre Narguile or similar to Daniel Josier Ambre Tabac. I don’t know those, but Oajan is more gourmand and sweet than Ambre Tabac, which is serious and dry. It’s sweet, with tonka, cinnamon, and resins like benzoin, vanilla, and honey. Gives a sensation of sweet tobacco (though it contains no tobacco). Oriental and gourmand, it smells excellent. Any lover of sweet and oriental scents should try it. Longevity is brutal: over 10-12 hours. Curiously, on my skin the sillage is moderate, sometimes discreet. If it’s more potent than Ambre Narguile, I fear Hermès might be excessively discreet. Verdict: Excellent.
At first, it smells medicinal, like oud. Intense cinnamon and honey. After 3 hours, the benzoin, labdanum, and ambergris emerge. By 7 hours, vanilla and tonka. By 12 hours, musk with vanilla. I agree with the previous reviewer: it gives a sensation of honeyed and vanilla-coated tobacco, a cliché of the last decade. It works as an oriental if you don’t want fruit or florals. Longevity with 0.5ml exceeded 12 hours, with a moderate trail. It reminds me of fragments of Tobacco Vanille and Spicebomb, that semi-sweet tobacco with cinnamon always. As a pure oriental, it’s for winter and night. Unlike Tobacco Vanille, this evolves well.
Initially medicinal, reminiscent of oud, with intense cinnamon and honey. After three hours, the benzoin, myrrh, and ambergris emerge. By the seventh hour, vanilla and tonka take over, followed by musk and vanilla at the twelfth. I agree with the previous reviewer: it evokes a honeyed, vanilla-infused tobacco, a cliché of the last decade. It works as an oriental if you don’t care for fruits or florals. With just 0.5ml, the longevity exceeded 12 hours, though the sillage is moderate. It recalls fragments of Tobacco Vanille and Spicebomb, that medium-sweet tobacco with cinnamon always. As a pure oriental, it’s best for winter and evening. Unlike Tobacco Vanille, this one evolves beautifully.
Another niche gem from Yuniqu. Unisex, but with a masculine air. At first, it’s a bit hard to wear, but I really liked the scent (I want my partner to smell it on me). It’s sweet, mature, and deep, without being a typical gourmand. Honey and cinnamon dominate. As it dries down, there’s a note of tobacco and something soapy. Then the vanilla and tonka make it more wearable, even for women. It’s not my style, but the evolution is interesting. I feel it’s masculine, elegant, and nocturnal. Moderate trail, brutal longevity: over 10-12 hours. Scent 7, longevity 9, trail 8, value for money 6, versatility 6, packaging 5. Would I buy it again? No.

It arrived after what felt like a century of waiting. The bottle alone makes me feel like a winner. Upon opening, *bam!* Strong cinnamon, like Aladdin’s lamp, which quickly recedes to reveal honey, vanilla, and tonka bean. Sweet and creamy. It’s rare, a powerful and enveloping melody. From the Arabian Breed collection, this is my favourite for projection and longevity. Elegant, distinguished, and mysterious. In my opinion, it far surpasses others in its style. Highly recommended. Scent 9.5, sillage 9, longevity 9, projection 9.

Oajan is sweeter than you might imagine. After the Layton fiasco, I tried this gem from Parfums de Marly. It smells of apple strudel with cinnamon, honey, and woods. It’s a gourmand you can practically eat. At first, it seems like cake, then it makes you crave sweets. It lasted 5-6 hours, similar to Layton, perhaps due to the heat. I love it! Maybe the bottle would last longer if used more. Scent 9, price 4, longevity 6, trail 5, overall 6. If it had more potency, the price wouldn’t matter.

It’s a gourmand you can practically eat. At first it tastes like cake, then it makes you crave sweets. Lasted 5-6 hours, just like Layton, perhaps due to the heat. I absolutely love it! Perhaps the bottle lasts longer. Scent 9, price 4, longevity 6, sillage 5, overall 6. If only it had more projection, the price wouldn’t matter.
Not a gem; it smells nice but that’s about it. The trail is short, lasting around 1h30, and the longevity is just 5 hours. You can only really detect it by sniffing directly from the bottle, so at this price, it’s a disappointment. Try it before spending.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to try this fragrance. The opening is well sweet and warm with a great presence of cinnamon and vanilla notes, which are perfectly distinguished and feel of high quality. As it dries down, in its middle phase the aroma seemed very familiar to me… I was searching in my head what it resembled, I was sure I had heard it, until I finally figured it out: ‘Tom Ford Noir Extreme’. I am surprised that no one else names it, but in that phase it is exactly the same, it has that sweet and cosy warmth, something gourmand and elegant… It is soft and intimate. Now, already in the final part, when it stays closer to the skin, the aroma becomes slightly cleaner, masculine, dark, and sober. The truth is that it has very good development and evolution. I was surprised by the fact that it seemed to be mutating; first it shows one face but ends up feeling different at the end. Beyond that, I would not recommend it to someone who does not like sweet aromas because it is above all a fragrance of that style.
Love at first sniff with no doubts whatsoever; I didn’t even consider decanting. It’s not versatile but undeniably elegant, perfect for anniversary dinners or my graduation. Forget the apple; to me, it smells like nothing of the sort, but rather honey and cinnamon tea. As it dries, it reminds me of my old spruce violin, evoking beautiful memories. The longevity is brutal: 8 to 10 hours on skin, projecting strongly for the first 3 or 4 hours before settling into a personal bubble. The jacket I wore three days ago still smells of Oajan. I prefer it to Layton, though it is less versatile.
One of the fragrances that was love at first sniff; as soon as I knew it, I loved it. I thought about buying a decant but it made no sense, as I was sure of how much I liked it. I do not consider it versatile at all; it gives me a sense of elegance, so I use it for special occasions, such as an anniversary dinner with my wife or my graduation (this is quite subjective). As for the aroma, contrary to several reviews, it does not remind me at all of apple or apple skin; perhaps the cinnamon may seem like it to some, but not to me. For me, it is tea with honey and cinnamon, and in the dry down it is smelling my old varnished violin again (resin), so it brings me beautiful memories and a sense of elegance. I have been testing it and in my case the longevity is 8 to 10 hours on skin; the first 3-4 hours it projects super well and then drops to a more personal bubble. The jacket I was wearing when I applied it three days ago still smells of Oajan. For me, it is a tremendous fragrance; I like it much more than Layton, although I find it less versatile.
This fragrance receives so many compliments, but to my nose it is a continuous rejection; I do not like anything about it. I smell it and have to move my nose away immediately; it smells to me mainly of an intense mix of cinnamon and honey, then I start perceiving the tonka bean with the vanilla and a touch of patchouli. It has not been to my liking; it is a grating, too heavy aroma. As always, it is a matter of taste. For me, it is a definite NO. EDIT: The other day I was taking a look at the samples I have with my friends and we were trying all of them; it was this one’s turn and I thought ‘well, ok’, but that was it. When a few months ago I could not even bear to smell it…
Same as the previous comment. It does not work for me. It is a blend of notes where honey, cinnamon, tonka bean, and resins predominate. It comes across as an alcoholic tone that I normally like, but here it generates more rejection than attraction. I will leave it as indifferent, as it is not the typical one I want to wash off immediately, but it is not for me.
The richest cinnamon I have ever smelled in a fragrance opening; it is super crisp and generates satiety when you have a sweet craving. It lingers minimally before the vanilla arrives, which is very gourmand. The benzoin adds warmth, and the ton of coumarin (I believe it is the ingredient with the highest volume) gives it body. From the opening, there is already the patchouli and musk (Galaxolide, typical in PDM) which are almost imperceptible but give body along with many other things. It projects well but lasts very little, a maximum of 7 hours, and in extreme cold it disappears if you are outside; it has a strong sillage but shortens because the air accelerates its disappearance. For me, it is 100% gourmand; the dry down is rich, giving the idea of a real dessert, forget your designer perfumes… In fact, I think it sins by being too realistic. It is not opulent, it is cosy, affectionate… Ideal for a date or a romantic dinner, but you must keep the bottle in the car and apply it when you arrive.
Oajan impacted me super positively from the very first moment. It is a gourmand fragrance where a beautiful and very original cinnamon predominates, accompanied by honey, vanilla, tonka bean, and benzoin. This combination creates a warm, sweet masterpiece and a genuine compliment bomb and attraction magnet. As some say, it was love at first sniff. Oajan sits in a line similar to Angels’ Share and reminds me a bit of Dates Delight by THOO; it is that style that evokes classic Christmas or winter desserts. Its performance is very good and, in my opinion, the quality-price ratio is adequate. It is one of my favourites from the house and I recommend it totally for those seeking a warm and comforting experience.
One of the richest and most complementary vanillas I have had the pleasure of smelling. The opening hits you with a burst of honey, cinnamon, and benzoin, giving it a medicinal touch, similar to other creations like Angel’s Share or Naxos. However, in the development, I feel it is very masculine and slightly alcoholic, where the resinous and vanilla notes predominate. Totally autumnal and winter. As a conclusion, I feel it has a very elegant hint of honeyed tobacco and vanilla; I dare to say I am more of an Oajan than a Layton, which, in my case, tends to smell like Vick’s VapoRub many times, to my misfortune.
My favourite Marly. Within the brand there are others that are easier to like, but for me this is undoubtedly the best. Decent longevity and good projection for the first 2-3 hours.
The opening is sweet and spicy, with a marked presence of cinnamon, honey, and vanilla that give it a clearly gourmand character. At first, I doubted if it would be for me, as that sweetness is the protagonist. But as it dries down, it becomes elegant and rounded, with a very pleasant and particular aroma. What I highlight most about Oajan is its special DNA; it is not generic or repetitive, it feels cared for, with personality and good quality. The projection was moderate; after a few hours, it sticks to the skin and you have to get very close to notice it. The longevity is correct, but not as potent as I expected given its reputation. In summary, it is interesting and well-made, with a different sweet-spicy profile. Nevertheless, personally, I do not feel it connects enough to want a full bottle. My final rating: 3.9/5.
I believe this is, so far, the best gourmand example I have ever tried. The cinnamon opening lasts forever, giving the scent a dense weight. As for performance, it lasts 6-10 hours, but be warned: in my opinion, it is exclusive to cold climates. I give it an 8/10.
