What a rich, refined amber, paired perfectly with tobacco and vanilla. A provocative, exquisite scent that invites you closer; with every movement, it releases waves of pleasurable amber notes for the nose. I absolutely love wearing it in winter—it’s a truly winter fragrance, though it can be worn in autumn. I say this because I believe it shines brightest in the cold; elegant and distinguished, completely unisex. Lasts 9 to 10 hours on the skin with very acceptable projection (about half a metre), although I tend to feel it more intimately. I really appreciate the balance of labdanum, benzoin, and ambergris, which give the amber extra power for its longevity, while the tobacco and vanilla do their thing. It’s one of those fragrances people talk about: an aura that completely envelops you with its scent… this is one of those. A luxury masterpiece from a true ‘Sir’. Edit: This gem is the ‘soundtrack’ to your best film. It’s incredibly cosy and lasts for hours… and then, just when you least expect it, it fades away without saying a word, and immediately you’re missing it.

Boucheron’s Ambre D’Alexandrie is an amber family fragrance designed for both men and women. Launched in 2017, it was created by the renowned perfumer Jean-Christophe Hérault. The top notes are an exquisite combination of vanilla, tobacco, and benzoin. This opening offers a sweet and warm start, with a resinous depth that adds sophistication. Although tobacco is present, in my case, it’s not noticeable or prominent. As it evolves, the heart reveals a rich blend of amber and labdanum. This combination provides a resinous warmth that feels enveloping and comforting, like a gentle embrace wrapping around you with elegance. The base notes, composed of ambergris and musk, add a final layer of sensuality and softness. The ambergris contributes a salty, marine quality, while the musk gives a creamy, persistent touch that lingers on the skin. What I love is how, over the hours, it develops into an enveloping aura. It doesn’t overwhelm; instead, it remains present in a sweet and creamy way. Although I can’t describe every note with precision, the overall experience is that of a warm and sophisticated fragrance that leaves a lasting and captivating impression. It’s perfect for those seeking to combine sweetness, creaminess, and an enveloping sensation without being overpowering. It’s a true work of art in perfumery, ideal for any occasion.

Beautiful bottle, solid and elegant. At first, there’s a strong animalic note, but it softens afterwards thanks to the amber and vanilla, though it remains present. It’s an interesting composition; you can tell the ingredients are high quality. There are fruity sensations, honey, as well as balsamic and sweet notes, with good density and longevity that seems appropriate. I’ve worn it for three hours with three sprays and I can still smell it quite well, which has definitely piqued my interest. For me, comforting longevity and presence are essential if you’re going to part with a green note and a bit more. Extremely elegant and nocturnal, this Ambre D’Alexandrie is a great option to stand out with good taste in the colder months and spring. Darkbeat, I recommend you give it a try; I think you’ll like it.
