Arabian Nights by Jesús Del Pozo is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2012, the nose behind this composition is Jean-Christophe Hérault. The top notes are cinnamon, ylang-ylang, pink pepper and orange blossom; the heart notes include dates, gardenia, incense and jasmine; while the base notes consist of benzoin, myrrh, vanilla, oud wood, patchouli and labdanum.

Smells glorious, but the glass is very severe.
Excellent perfume; I can detect almost every note. It has that floral touch reminiscent of saliva, something also found in APOM and Aqua Vitae Forte, likely due to the ylang and orange blossom. The spices are harder for me to pick out, but if I let my imagination run, there seems to be a spicy undertone. The date is the star, and although it can be worrying that it might become cloying, here it is beautifully blended. Occasionally the gardenia emerges, a tricky flower with that rich coconutty scent. The jasmine joins the floral bouquet, appearing and disappearing. The incense and oud could provide a serious, dark counterpoint, but they remain subtle. Over time, the sweet resins (myrrh, benzoin) come through, and I even detect a hint of vanilla softness. There are also traces of patchouli, a note I’m not fond of. The performance is excellent. In conclusion, it may or may not suit your taste, tire you or not, but it is very well made and of high quality. It has that quality of smelling like a perfume with personality: it doesn’t smell of biscuits, woods, pineapple or leather… it smells like Arabian Nights, and that’s cool. The bottle is gorgeous.

Traces of patchouli also appear, my least favourite note. The performance is excellent. It may suit some more than others, tire you or not, but it is very well made and of high quality. It smells like a perfume with personality, not of biscuits, woods, pineapple or leather… it smells like Arabian Nights and that’s cool. The bottle is gorgeous.
