  What a beautiful fragrance! It is warm, distinguished, opulent, and prudent. The opening is balanced: the oud is softened with honey, gaining a feminine touch, while the leather and incense lift it to give it virility. It is fresh and comforting for any time of day, ideal for exalting personality. 100% unisex.

  Although the notes say little oud, at first you feel it to the full, but it doesn’t go alone: it comes wrapped in a sweet, syrupy paste with that rusty touch. Oud de Cartago flirts with the cloying and makes it shine. The tonka unites sweetness and sticky rust with a modern, oriental, rich leather, nothing cold or mouldy like the classics. It smells of the eighties, like a femme fatale from ‘Dynasty’: powerful, ambitious, and luxurious. It’s very ‘camp’, exaggerated to the extreme; whoever wears it prefers a gold lamé dress to jeans. It’s not for me, but the quality is top.

  Oud Carthage is pure cinema: earth, fire, and blood. Imagine Maximus, the compassionate gladiator; here it smells of a Roman soldier’s rage and a righteous man’s honour. That magnetic oud only shines on those with a fighter’s charisma but an honest heart. The dense honey makes it human, whole, and romantic, while the final incense adds a solemn mysticism, like the immortality of the sovereigns the people loved, not just for their strength, but for their respect.
