Turathi Blue by Afnan

It’s a good fragrance, yes. It’s not the revitalising bomb that those YouTube reviewers exaggerate. Citrus opening stretching towards a grapefruit but not so strident. It reminds me of the discontinued Light Blue Italian Love and something of Forever, some vibes. I also feel it’s spicy with a patchouli base and a hint of dishwashing detergent. I liked it but I let myself be carried away by the hype. Unfortunately, this batch doesn’t last long and the projection is psychological; you have to believe it’s there. Summerly, I don’t feel it as elegant as they say. Poor performance. 7/10. I didn’t know the Tygar, if it smells like this it’s a rip-off. Edit: I now know the Tygar and they are quite similar. The Bvlgari one smells elegant and feels like quality, but its price is excessive. This clone comes close though it’s dirtier, darker, and synthetic with that green dishwashing detergent base.

I tried this Bvlgari Tygar inspiration and the opening won me over: fresh and sparkling grapefruit, like a sip of freshly squeezed juice. Super vibrant and lifts your mood. As it settles, spices like ginger take control and somewhat mute the citrus, which didn’t thrill me as much. But surprise with the dry down! After a couple of hours, it transforms into something warm, fresh and elegant that fills the room without being heavy. At a meeting six hours after application, five minutes before others arrived, they asked what perfume I was wearing because it filled the room and was rich; my wife wouldn’t stop saying how much she loved it. Now I’m curious about the original Tygar, but this version has already hooked me. It lasts over twelve hours and projects brilliantly! I recommend it for those seeking something fresh and sophisticated.

Turathi Blue was one of the first for my collection, looking for something versatile for the office… a very good surprise. At first I didn’t love the opening, very mature citrus, but as I used it more, it captivated me until I associated it with something elegant and soapy, like a luxury hotel. I had to smell Tygar on blotting paper and they are very similar, 80-90% alike. Projection and performance: once someone told me they could smell it as soon as I entered, although that only happened once. Longevity is quite good, between 6 and 7 hours, projects well for the first two hours and then becomes a personal bubble. If you’re starting with Arabic perfumes or building a collection, Turathi Blue is a good option. In my opinion, it’s among the best in its category as an ‘Arabic blue’.

First day with this Afnan bomb. The opening is a sharp grapefruit, slightly synthetic, but with a quality that surprises for the price. It doesn’t smell as artificial as other Arab scents, like CDN Intense. As it dries down, the citrus calms and leaves a clean musk with wood. It’s clearly a clone of Bvlgari Tygar, but with a more serious and mature vibe, ideal for those seeking something beyond the typical mall smell. Strong performance for the first two hours and lasts decently on the skin for 7-8 hours. It’s not eternal, but for a citrus DNA, it performs above average. A good perfume for daily wear, university, or outings; it’s the kind of all-rounder that doesn’t bother anyone.

As Javitor says, this perfume is different when you smell it yourself versus when someone else smells it; that’s its magic. People will compliment you because it awakens sighs, hehe. On my skin, it lasts about six to seven hours, and on clothes, a minimum of two days. I own several blues: Bleu Chanel EDP, Sauvage EDP, Dylan Blue, L’Homme Idéal Sport EDP, Explorer EDP, and Polo Blue EDP, plus this Turathi Blue. I also have citrus scents like Dior Homme Cologne, L’Eau d’Issey, and Aqua di Gio EDT, but the one that has given me the most compliments is this Arabic fragrance, followed by the Polo Blue EDP. It must have something good about it.

For my compatriots: What does the opening smell like? To opening a chilled grapefruit from Paso de los Toros on a 35-degree day. A rich, natural, and vibrant grapefruit, nothing synthetic. Then it calms down and becomes serious, like Bleu de Chanel, woody and elegant. At 21, it’s a summer bomb but shines in formal settings; it puts you in a white shirt and imaginary suit. For everyday wear, it’s a ten. Correct performance: 6 or 7 hours projecting well at the start. And the price: around 50,000 pesos (less than $35 dollars) is a bargain. Quality and freshness at a laughable price. Safe blind buy if you like classy citrus.

Starts delicious with prominent citrus, musk and amber, giving a warm yet fresh touch. After an hour or two, the citrus fades, leaving a base of musk, amber, patchouli, wood and a hint of spice. I find it a little cloying but rich. By four or five hours, its best notes fade and it becomes more generic, reminiscent of the Cyzone Nitro Black I used as a child, but more refined. On skin it lasts about six hours, with the final two hours very weak (two trigger sprays). On clothes it lasts longer, but the trail is poor after seven hours; it’s still detectable at twelve, though very subtle.

I don’t know the Bvlgari Tygar, but I absolutely love this one. It smells delicious, fresh, and elegant. The packaging and bottle are excellent; the scent feels like a high-end, fine fragrance. I’d wear it during the day, from casual situations to formal occasions. The performance isn’t great, so if you get the chance, keep a backup; the price is good enough to justify it. Longevity doesn’t exceed six hours, but it projects well for the first hour and a half or two. If the performance were better, it would definitely be in my top five.

I bought it this summer and have been testing it gradually. At home, post-shower, it’s something light. I see it as a dark citrus; the grapefruit feels good. The curious part: yesterday I applied two sprays to my forearm to play padel, and while playing, exquisite and seductive bursts came to me. I wondered who smelled so good until I realised it was me. There I understood the richness: it has two aromas, the close-up one and the one left in the air. The one in the air is the good one.

I’m human and I make mistakes… Some time ago I said it wasn’t the big deal, but in the heat it’s INCREDIBLE. Pleasant, aquatic, citrusy, and herbal aroma (smells like grapefruit grass). I love the aura when you walk and the waves that are felt; it’s spectacular. Lasts normally for 5-6 hours and is at a good price (around $28,000 CLP). For summer it’s a 10/10; it’s one of the best Arab scents I’ve tried without a doubt.

Strong point: rich, masculine, and super versatile. It’s a potent scent punch. The downside: a brutal citrus opening but it drops off sharply after 10 minutes and clings to the skin. It projects poorly and doesn’t last in normal doses. Only works with more than 12 sprays. I wouldn’t buy it if there are similar, more expensive, and longer-lasting options.

I tried it in a decant and didn’t like it entirely. It smells good but is a mix between Blue de Chanel and Inmortel by MA. As it matures, the longevity is average. I applied it at 9 and by 12 I could barely smell it, neither on clothes nor skin. I’ll stick with Inmortel (denser) or a more energetic citrus. A disappointment.

One of the best I’ve ever bought; everyone loves it and I get many compliments. After a few months, the longevity improved; letting it mature seems to have been a good idea. It’s not one that lasts for endless hours—about five—but if you give it a little touch-up, it still smells great.

Lasts long, projects well, and is elegant; everyone loves it. It has that Bleu de Chanel vibe. A beautiful fragrance, a great purchase, perfect for everyday wear. If you’re looking for a single all-rounder without breaking the bank, this is the one I’d recommend.

More boring than eating plain white rice without salt. It adds nothing; it smells of lemon and chipboard. The worst in my collection, alongside Le Parfait de Armaf (two disasters I keep next to the toilet).
