Head-to-head with Oud for Glory and the verdict: this Supremacy in Oud smells far more natural. That fresh, spicy note gives it extra points over the OFG; the opening is top-notch and that naturalness is in a league of its own. If you have to choose between the two, don’t hesitate, this one wins hands down.
What a great surprise. I’m leaving this review for this great perfume. Excellent presentation far superior to any niche or designer: a rigid box like a chest very pretty. As for the scent it is undoubtedly the best imitation of Initio Oud for Greatness I’ve smelled. The opening is non-synthetic to my taste quite natural and light but where nutmeg takes the lead. A few minutes later it balances and that’s where this great perfume is appreciated. It has a lot of depth and intensity. Sweet spiced woody almost 98% similar to its inspiration. The pleasant surprise is that in my opinion it has greater longevity and projection during the first two hours. Truly a great discovery with an incredible price-quality ratio. A fragrance for cold seasons but it doesn’t matter when you use it; if you use it every day even better; it’s worth a third of the price and you enjoy it twice as much. Scent: 9.5/10 Sillage: 9/10 Longevity: 9/10 Projection: 9/10.
I have little experience with Arabic fragrances but starting with this one they have captured all my attention. Beginning with the presentation which I think is excellent: a box that fits the bottle a prominent cap and a perfect sprayer. The opening is powerful with notes of nutmeg and saffran; then lavender emerges throughout the development and upon drying oud and lavender stand out. It delivers an elegant and powerful aroma. I don’t have anything to compare with Initio Oud for Greatness but those who have do speak of a similar DNA with its own touches from Afnan. What I have is a perfume extract; I understand there are other EDPs. The projection is very good for 2 to 3 hours and on skin for 10 hours without issues. The performance gives a lesson to many expensive designer reformulations that aren’t even a shadow of this (e.g. current Ch Men). I don’t see it for 20-22 degree climates; with heat it can be very invasive. If you want a perfume that makes an elegant and sober presence with well-performing oud and lavender notes it could be a good option.
I am not an expert in Arabian perfumes, but this has truly captivated me. The presentation is top: a box that cradles the bottle, a striking cap, and a sprayer that works a treat. It starts strong with nutmeg and saffron, then lavender emerges, leaving the oud with it in the end. It is elegant and potent. I do not have Initio Oud for Greatness to compare, but those who have tried it say this shares that DNA with its own touches of Afnan. I have the EDP version and the projection is brutal: 2-3 hours in the air and 10 on the skin without issues. It performs better than many reformulated expensive designer perfumes (like the current Ch Men). I would not use it above 22 degrees; with heat, it can become invasive. If you are looking for something that makes a presence, elegant and sober, with oud and lavender, it is a great option.
I’m not sure. I expected something more potent but I’m not disappointed; I’m quite satisfied. It has good longevity and is very well balanced. It’s sweet quite sweet with that bright vanilla typical of Arabic perfumes and that cotton candy note but the oud and patchouli balance that sweetness. It’s a very good job. I don’t know Initio to compare but what I can say is that I loved the smell. Suddenly it brings to mind Dior Sauvage EDP; it has a similar sweetness; I don’t know what note they share but I had one on each arm and the dry-down was quite similar. I think it was the vanilla. It also smells similar to Mancera’s Hindu Kush; this seems to be a combination of the latter with Al Haramain Amber Rouge. Should I recommend it? Yes. Hardly anyone wouldn’t like this scent. That said don’t expect a men’s perfume; this is totally unisex.
I’m not sure; I expected more potency… but I am not disappointed, I am quite happy with the purchase. It has good longevity and is very well balanced. It is sweet, quite sweet with that typical bright vanilla of Arab perfumes and that touch of cotton candy, but the oud and patchouli balance that sweetness. It is a very good job. I do not know the Initio, so I cannot compare, but what I can say is that I loved the scent. I take my hat off to the Arabs: this perfume competes in price with designers and beats them by several lengths in creation, materials, and presentation. It smells of oud from the start with that tone of wet wood that lasts until an advanced dry-down, not at the very end. At first, it features nutmeg and lavender, then in the mid-notes, the sweet notes emerge, making it unisex (though leaning more masculine). I find it similar to Instant Crush but more woody and less floral. At the end, it returns to being typically masculine. Performance: it is a true parfum, lasting over 10 hours on skin with constant but moderate projection. Note that on skin, it is hardly noticeable until atomised three times, but in the air, it is easily detected and gives bursts hours later. Beware of over-applying. In summary: original, sensual, long-lasting, for fresh, nocturnal, and for everyone. Scent: 9.5, Longevity: 9.5, Projection: 8, Versatility: 7.5, Price: 10.
My hat off to the Arabs. This product competing in price with designer brands beats them by several lengths in olfactory creation material quality and presentation. I hear the oud from the start with that wet wood tone that lasts until advanced dry-down but not to the very end. At first it goes with nutmeg and lavender then in the heart sweet notes appear making it unisex (though I see it as more masculine). In this stage I find a resemblance to Instant Crush but more woody and less floral. Finally it leans back towards typically masculine territory. Performance: it’s a true parfum. Excellent longevity on skin (minimum 10 hours) with moderate but constant projection. A curious thing: smelling it directly on skin is difficult; you need to spray at least three times in the same spot giving a sensation of low power. But in the air I perceive it easily with bursts even after many hours. Be careful not to overapply. In summary: an original sensual long-lasting fragrance for fresh seasons more nocturnal than diurnal and for a wide audience. Scent: 9.5/10 Longevity: 9.5/10 Projection: 8/10 Versatility: 7.5/10 Price: 10/10.
Oud for Greatness by Initio won me over with a sample. It wasn’t love at first sight, but it slowly conquered me. I was looking for something with the three B’s (good, beautiful, and cheap) among clones like the OFG and this Supremacy. Although most say the latter is better in terms of quality and longevity, I was worried it might be too sweet. At first, it smells good, but as it dries down, it settles on that cotton candy sweetness without evolving, a bit linear. The longevity is beastly, easily over 12 hours, and the projection is immense. As Landberk said, if money is no object, go for the Initio as it is better crafted and evolves incredibly; but if you’re looking for something wonderful at a good price and want to smell sweet and potent, this is your spot.
Oud for Greatness by Initio captivated me little by little; it wasn’t love at first sight. Being expensive I sought alternatives with the three Bs (good beautiful and cheap) and found Oud for Glory and Supremacy in Oud. Most say Supremacy wins on quality and performance. I already knew it was sweeter than Initio; the initial sweetness smells nice but once it dries down I don’t find it interesting because it doesn’t evolve and stays sweet with a cotton-like texture. I see it as a bit linear. In performance it’s a beast with a hard collar lasting over 12 hours and projecting like crazy. As Landberk 70 said and I confirmed: if money isn’t an issue go for Oud for Greatness; it’s better crafted and evolves incredibly. But the price is in the clouds so Supremacy in Oud is wonderful for the price. If you like sweet scents and want to smell different yet beast-mode this is your option.
It’s not a bad perfume; it smells great. But if you’re looking for something similar to Oud For Greatness this is the one that resembles it least among the inspirations I’ve heard; I don’t quite understand all the fuss. At first it gives a slight hint of OFG then comes a clean scent (like shampoo) and a characteristic Arabic aroma but it drifts far away from OFG. Longevity and projection are out of this world (it smells on clothes the next day).
Delicious. Woody with a sweet touch but not cloying. Longevity and sillage are outstanding.
Delicious! Woody with a sweet touch that isn’t cloying. The longevity and trail are on another level.
What luck I had buying this. I detect the oud deep in the background with fruit and floral notes in perfect balance. The opening is a little chaotic but once it settles I enjoy it more and more. It lasts 7 to 8 hours on my skin. I don’t know the original but it’s a real treat; a great success for Arabic perfumery.
Absolutely love it. It’s sweeter than the Lattafa version (without being overwhelming) and the quality feels superior; it smells sexier and more attractive. So delicious! Afnan definitely wins: Lattafa is good but a bit dirty and less refined.
Long-lasting and always noticeable. Not cloying and very versatile unless it’s extremely hot.
Honestly, I’ve never heard of the Oud for Greatness, but according to YouTube reviews, it’s a better alternative and much more versatile. For me, and as others have told me, it smells like ‘millionaire’. I love the oud scent; the first oud I heard was from Zara Vibrant Leather, but that has nothing to do with oud. I’ve heard the Oud for Glory, which is the same as this Supremacy in Oud but darker and less versatile. I have no regrets in acquiring it. For this perfume, it’s a 10 out of 10 in everything.
First, let’s review the packaging: what a crazy box! Super elegant metallic with gold touches, a hinged door with description and brand on velvet fabric. It’s very beautiful and all for an excellent price. As for the scent, ufff, a delight: woody, dark, sweet but not cloying. It projects confidence, masculinity and elegance. I got it about three hours ago and already received two compliments from people aged 25 to 41. Excellent perfume for its price.
I don’t know the Oud for Greatness by Initio, but I do have the Bade’e Al Oud Oud for Glory by Lattafa, and yes, this Afnan fragrance shares the same DNA. I’m very satisfied with the Lattafa one; I love the bottle and its scent, and so far it’s given good performance. The only reason to buy this would be for collector’s whim. If you love this DNA and don’t have the Lattafa, it’s an option you shouldn’t miss. I can’t comment on its performance as I tested it in-store and showered an hour later; now, about four hours after, I barely perceive anything close to the skin.
With a varied collection of over 20 perfumes, I conclude that its scent and performance are excellent. Definitely in my top 5; buy it blind. It’s one of the few Arabic scents worth having.
Bought blind four months ago and what a surprise: it’s definitely worth having. It’s easy to wear and pleasant, among those who have received the most compliments in my small collection.
Bought it a few weeks ago. It’s a very woody perfume with a precise sweetness, without being cloying. Lasts about 10 hours with strong projection for two to three hours (it lasts days on clothes). Without a doubt, one of the best I’ve purchased. I’m not a fan of woody scents, but this is perfect; the oud plays a decisive role. I recommend it for cold climates and evening wear at important events. It projects presence and status. It has a beautiful presentation; it’s something you must try.
I was going to buy it but it’s another Oud for Glory and as it was fully stocked, I didn’t. There’s hardly any difference from the Oud for Glory, but of course, this recommended one is very potent: just three or four sprays suffice. The only thing that varies are the jam notes.
Very rich; it’s a sweet oud that I feel is the masculine version of Baccarat Rouge. You can tell there’s good quality in the scent. It’s miles better than the Odissey Aoud by Armaf, which smells super synthetic.
Working in metallurgy, the opening of this Red for Him from Zara reminds me of oxidised iron. That bitter, unpleasant synthetic gives way to the famous cotton-wool sweetness of Baccarat. The blend is chaotic and unpleasant, like layering two cheap fragrances that don’t blend well. A pity, because I’ve had good experiences with Afnan before, such as the Supremacy Incense, but from this one I can’t salvage anything other than the good price.
I work in a metalworks and the opening reminds me of oxidised iron, like Zara’s Red for Him (that synthetic smell of strawberry remedy). I did not like it at all; the synthetic, bitter, and unpleasant opening gives way to the cotton candy scent made famous by Baccarat. It is a chaotic and unpleasant composition, as if they had done a layering with two cheap fragrances that do not blend. A pity, as I had a good experience with Afnan’s Supremacy Incense, but from this I cannot salvage anything except the good price.
Amber-gold aroma, ideal for flashy oriental outfits with gold chains or colourful shirts à la Casablanca or Versace. Being a real showstopper that draws attention, it’s a sweet, resinous synthetic oud. For the price, it’s a fantastic scent.
